Pelican: Where to purchase?

Is ATT the only place I can purchase a Pelican case? I have searched all online including Amazon.

what's everyone's opinion of the griffin survivor from a strictly functional standpoint?

Easier to get phone in/out than Otterbox Defender and previous gen Survivors

Great protection

Touch ID and general screen responsiveness great through screen protector

No flaps obscuring camera

Keeps out dust and great shock protection but not waterproof

Adds quite a bit of bulk

I'll second this.
I've been using one on my i5 for a good 6 months anyways, and snagged 2 on the Amazon Pre-launch flash sales for my i6 (along with a neo hybrid metal, an ultra hybrid, and regular neo hybrid).
This is the case that gives me the most protection. And it isn't giant!
My phone falls out of my shirt pocket at least a couple times a day onto concrete floors and metal loading dock plates, and so far this case has done its job!

Any pics please. And is it a pain to remove the phone from case once installed.
Thanks Bryan.

It is very easy to disassemble the case. The issue is the rubber becomes stretched.

the case has proteced the phone during a couple bouts with gravity

NO GO on the Pelican for me!!!

Imac Sam,

Any feedback yet on the two Pelican cases you got?

I was going for an Otterbox Defender, but based on many reviews regarding problems with the fit, the buttons, and the screen protector (including your review at the Otterbox website), I'm now looking for alternatives.

Thank you.

Cheers,

The Pelicans were a bust for me. They looked cheap and rushed to market. The wife was almost at tears when she tried her's and then could not get the case back off the phone. It appears the Pelican locks down so much that you almost have to bend it and break it to remove the phone. She used a coin as indicated in the instructions to remove the two shell halves, and they would not seperate. The plastic just warped when twisting the coin as indicated. After all this entire ordeal we noticed she put a small nick in the phone casing where this coin goes. It is very shody looking and feeling in my opinion.

I currently have a Griffin Survivor enroute to test now.

I think the Otterbox Commuter would be perfect due to the hard plastic outer shell. That's the case I'm going to go with.

I tried that one and was not happy with the silicon fit, and no protection for the ringer switch.

I will know after UPS delivers today.

Imac Sam,

Looking forward to your input on the Griffin.

Too bad about the Pelican, as I was hoping they'd make your short list!!

With all the negative comments about the design flaws with the Defender, it is too bad they have not stepped up and issued a statement saying they plan to fix them and re-release a better product. I still like the Defender, but can't accept their current flaws. By being silent about their flaws, they are forcing their loyal customers, and potential new customers, to purchase elsewhere. Short-sigthed management decision.

Cheers,

The Protector case by Pelican is a one piece case. That may work better for you.

I got this Insignia Friday morning at BB before FedEx delivered. It is a good case for $15 but not impact resistant. I also got the otter box defender but its pretty boxy feeling. So then you don't recommend the Pelican?

Do you have any photos of your phone in this case?

Lifeproof Cases

I know they aren't out yet, but anyone use a Lifeproof on an older iPhone? What's your opinion on it regarding the speakers and the fingerprint scanner?

I was wondering the same thing as you. I see all these comments on Otterbox but nothing on Lifeproof (maybe because its not released yet?) Anyway, My wife and I use and have used Lifeproof for all our iPhones going back to the IP4. For all around protection I think its the best especially the waterproof and shock proof as you can take it anywhere. Right now on my IP5 I have the Nuud model with a Zagg HD screen protector and have no issues. Over time the Zagg gets damaged so I email them and get a new screen protector and BB will install for free (if you bought the original there) I highly recommend Lifeproof.

I just wished there was an otterbox or similar case with the thick rubber texture of the defender for the iphone 6/6+

Thule Atoms X4

Has anyone used this company's case? I see its offered at Best Buy (although not in stock) for $70

Imac Sam,

I greatly appreciate it if, in addition to providing your insights on the Griffin Survivor All-Terrain, you'd provide the dimensions, including the thickness.

Someone said it was about 3.2 inches wide, which would make it wider than even the Otterbox Defender.

Thanks.

Cheers,

Thanks for the input. Money ain't really a concern on a case. :)

But I love the Lifeproof case on my stepdaughter's iPhone 5S. Adds almost no weight to it at all.

Question:

The "Pelican Protector" seems to be a highly recommended case. Anyone here know how this Pelican Protector compares to a Lifeproof case?

I'm not familiar with either one, so thanks in advance.
