What about this clear case with a leather patch from Nomad?

It looks different and I can imagine the leather bit will get rid of the gummy plastic sticky feeling of most clear case

Finally received the last 2 cases I ordered from Amazon today. This has been the most cases I've bought for a phone.

The line up consists of:

- Apple Charcoal Gray Leather Case

- Luvvitt Clarity Case

- Patchworks Level ITG Series in White

Might end up picking up either an Otterbox or Spigen, haven't made up my mind on which yet.

I don’t recommend the tech 21 tactical. It’s squared off so it makes the phone wider and uncomfortable to hold. Also the buttons are tough to press. Using my cheap Apple silicone clone until I get something better. It feels 10 times better to hold than the tech 21 by the way because it’s rounded and buttons feel great. I also don’t recommend it because it’s already peeling and is slippery.

Second for Spigen, they are the best looking for the price. I also don't understand people who buys those ultra thin peel cases, why even buy a case that won't protect against anything.

Well it does protect the phone from getting scratches & slipping. So if it doesn't slip then it wouldn't drop. :D
Also haven't really dropped my phone in 2 years. Knock on wood!

I am a huge fan of bumper cases, since I typically like to enjoy the look and feel of the native device. There are some good ones on Amazon, including some that have metal boarders ,rubber inside to protect the phone. I am waiting for Rhino Shield to offer theirs, And only got the one I have now as a temp case since it was available and shipped to my house before my preorder did. I am honestly doubting I will want to change up, since it feels really nice in the hand, and provides the corner and edge protection I was after.

It won't likely save the front and back like a Rhino shield would so it is mostly for light protection of the sides, relying mostly on the glass protectors (came with a rear glass) for the surfaces. The metal frame on this case has a nice feel, and I am super happy so far.

check the accessories section.

as for dropping the leather case I can attest to dropping it on cement doesn't fare too well for obvious reasons. got a good scuff/chunk taken out. it's since has smoothen out a bit.

here's my saddle brown, product red and midnight leather cases from my iPhone 6.

Yea I have this one too, in red. I like bumper style cases, don’t want or need a big bulky case

I got Urban Armor Gear. You can get clear or colors. They are great cases.

I could careless about case getting damaged. Want to protect phone
minimalist cases like the apple leather case offer minimal protection. my iPhone 6 survived those drops. idk how the X will face if the same happens with a minimal case.
