I ordered the black/grey plain case and received it today. Its an awesome minimalist case. The only negative is that it picks up oils from the hand and shows smudges. They wipe off easily. Minor annoyance.
just got one myself... love it. I just wish they sold one without the metal plates in it.

Hi Guys
I am new to this forum and looking for some help. I have an iPhone X which is currently protected by an Otterbox Strada case. I had a similar one with my 6S and it worked perfectly. However, with the iPhone X, I am getting complaints that my voice sounds indistinct and muffled, when taking/making calls, with the cover folded back. If I do not fold it back the clarity improves, but it is an uncomfortable way to take a call. I have contacted Otterbox, who say that it is a known problem caused by the magnetic cover, 'confusing' the iPhones mic. I have read that the expensive Apple case, also has the same problem.

I do not want to use a screensaver but do want screen protection. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which case to purchase, as I intend to return the Otterbox Strada. Has anyone else come across this issue, and if so, how do I get around it. Are there leather/leatherlike cases, without magnetics in them, as they may be the problem. Any help/guidance, would be much appreciated.

All wallet style cases will have this issue because as the flap gets folded over the back they cover the noise cancelling mic that is by the camera. The only wallet case I’d buy would be one that has the front speaker opening in the front flap so you can be on a call with the flap closed. Personally I’d rather have a non-wallet leather case like a Burkley or an Apple OEM case with a good screen protector like the iCarez 2.5D which is as close to perfect as I’ve found. Feel free to check some of the cases I’ve reviewed for the X on my YouTube channel “TECH-FIGHTER” at www.youtube.com/c/techfighter

I like it, but don’t love it. I’m thinking about getting the Spigen Thin Fit, which is a similar minimalist, slim style case as the Pitaka.

I just want to remind everyone to take these cases off sometimes and use the naked iPhone. It’s glorious. I put the incipio dual pro on when I need some protection. But when I’m sitting at my desk or laying in bed or nowhere near my two year old I take it off. :D

I try to sometimes too. Just so risky LOL. Have a “Peel” I use occasionally.

I have a two year old, too. She’s a wreck lol

Haha you feel my pain. And she also tries to get each and every screen that she sees. So I can’t have a non protective case. I know one day she’ll grab it and I won’t be paying attention and she absolutely WILL drop it. Incipio better not be lying with their 10ft drop protection.

I bought this case based upon you post. The brown is a bit lighter in person but overall this is a good case. My only issues is that the listing says sheepskin leather and also PU which is not leather. I sent a message to the seller for clarification.

Can you post pics of the case on the phone? I ended up cancelling my order because I was iffy on the product.

Totallee Scarf - Frosted White.

Minimalistic and clean, so that the true beauty of this phone can still be seen. I personally despise bulky cases, they take away everything of the amazing design. (of course this is just scuff/scratch protection, Applecare+ for drop incidents)

Has anyone tried the Spigen Reventon case? I really like their Neo Hybrid. Loving the look of the back, but I'm not sure I like the frame around the notch. Just wondering if anyone had tried this one.

Now, THIS looks interesting. Not too often do you see a heavier duty case that's aesthetically pleasing. The price, though...I guess Spigen is attempting to break into the premium market with this case. Their product line, while very good, is typically inexpensive, especially on Amazon. At $55, this takes Spigen into Otterbox/Lifeproof territory. Oddly enough, it's nowhere to be found on Amazon.

I noticed this one on the Spigen site which also looks like a new offering in the heavier duty Otterbox/Lifeproof territory. I don't care for the looks of it at all, but that's just my preference.

Yeah, not my thing, either. So far, the Spigen Neo Hybrid is my favorite case, although I'm still looking for the unicorn - a case that offers good drop protection, has enough of a lip to protect the screen, looks good and is slimmer than the Otterbox Symmetry. Perhaps such a thing simply doesn't exist?

It does!! Incipio dual pro checks all those boxes IMO.

I agree. The Neo Hybrid is one of my favorite cases too; as is the Incipio Dual Pro. I have also been searching for "the unicorn", but the search has been fun. I recently picked up this case in white which is actually the VRS Design High Pro Shield. So far I am liking it to swap out with the Neo Hybrid & Incipio Dual Pro every now and then. The lip is a bit less than the Neo Hybrid & Dual Pro and it does seem slicker in terms of grip, but I am pleased with how it looks on the phone. I am waiting for VRS to release their sandstone version of the Pro Shield case. I think it will actually be more comparable to the Neo Hybrid in terms of grip and protection than this one I just received is.

I’d recommend you check out an X-Doria Defense Lux in either a carbon fiber finish or a leather finish. Checks all your boxes IMO. Also, about to trial the Pelican Protector. I believe it’s slimmer than the Symmetry but I’ll know for certain over the next week or two.

I've got two cases, the Caudabe Lucid Clear (Silver Metallic) and the Spigen Crystal Shell (Rose Crystal).

The Caudabe is definitely the most elegant of the two. It fits the X beautifully and the silver edging complements the colour really nicely. It helps retain that premium feel. There is a slightly extended lip just above the lightning port - not sure if this is for comfort when swiping or to help reinforce that area, but it's quite a nice touch. Buttons are easy to access, but not protected in any way. It is a very slippery case and a fingerprint magnet on the rear.

Here's some pics of the Caudabe....
I was interested in picking up this exact case. Thanks for the review.
Concerned now how slippery people mentionnthey are.

I ordered the Incipio Dual Pro ($17 shipped from Amazon) and am definitely looking forward to checking it out. I had the Dual Pro Shine a couple of years ago and, while it was an excellent case, I remember it being extremely difficult to remove. I was always worried about damaging the phone when I needed to take it out of the case. Hopefully, that won't be an issue this time.

I ended up returning the Sheath and the Symmetry, so I'm still coming out ahead. If I don't like the Dual Pro, the Defense Lux is next on the list.

Let me put your mind at ease. One of my favorite parts about this case is that it feels tight when on but is very easy to put on and take off.

I agree. Never had an issue with putting on/taking off the Dual Pro. To me, it’s easier than the Neo Hybrid to remove. The Speck Presidio Grip is hardest case to get off/on out of all the cases I own.

I’ve had the Pitaka MagCase (black/grey plain color) since last week. I love the minimalist, slim style of the case, but it's a major fingerprint magnet. Very annoying.

I ordered the Spigen Thin Fit matte black case and received it yesterday. It is a similar minimalist, slim style case as the Pitaka. Nice grip and feel in the hand. No issues with fingers prints like the Pitaka.

Have you considered the Evutec? Very similar case but mine doesn’t appear to fingerprint...

Are you talking about the Evutec Karbon Case? It doesn’t have open button and open top/bottom areas like the Pitaka MagCase and Spigen Thin Fit. The Pitaka design and form factor is right on point and the Spigen Thin fit is a closed second. The Aramid material on the Pitaka fingerprints like crazy. My skin is generally dry, but maybe it’s more oily than I thought.

Tall order mate

Top and bottom isn’t open but you might like

Has open buttons anyways. Have one for my Neight and really like it.

Tall order is right or deal with the fingerprints. I wonder if the Pitaka Twill model is less fingerprint prone than the Plain model?

The SCF case is worth a look, but it’s not a true minimalist style case like the Pitaka MagCase or Spigen Thin Fit.

Sorry but my thin fit had fingerprints everywhere on it.
