I've got one of the new i7 iMacs and I couldn't get it to work worth beans for some reason. I got the preferences to come up and I could change things, but I couldn't get any actions to be recognized. I tried shutting down the application, resetting it, and restarting it, but nothing worked. Any ideas? I've tried the latest version as well as 4.17.

Hmmm... not sure what the deal is there. I also have the new i7 and it works like a champ on mine. Some of the gestures are harder to pull off though.
Can you post a screen print of your preference pane? Maybe its something simple.
Did you tell BTT that you have a non-touchpad mac?

Good questions. Unfortunately I'm at work right now and my mac is at home so I'll have to wait until later to check it out. I don't recall off-hand which touchpad preference I had picked. I want to say that I probably picked the touchpad macbook option, but not 100% sure. I was a little blown away by all the various settings and options at first so I may have missed that one.

I really only tried to set up two gestures to start with. I tried to set up a left mouse tap for a global left click and a right mouse tap for a global right click. I really like the left click/tap functionality on my MBP so if I could duplicate that with the mouse that would be great. I set up the custom gestures and even turned the tapping sensitivity all the way down as well as other sensitivity levels for both left and right, but nothing. I also tried adjusting the finger locations for tapping, but nothing.

Yeah, it just seems so odd that nothing would work. I bet I just have a wrong setting. I'm so curious to try this out that I'm getting antsy not being able to take a look at my settings.

I noticed sometimes setting the sensitivity to low for some reason doesnt register anything. So play around with that too. I also tried setting everything up like my MBP but that hasnt really worked out.

Wow, this tool is pretty incredible.

What is the "TipTap" gesture? I don't understand how you activate it?

I dont have much consistency with the tiptap gesture. But when I do it's pretty cool. The way the dev demos it you put your middle finger on the mouse first then while keeping that finger in contact with the mouse you tap it with you ring or index finger.
I don't have the link with me but the dev has a video on his blog on how to perform all the gestures. You can even search YouTube.
I've played with this gesture a lot but still can't get it working all the time.

Personally, the 2 finger swipes make this utility priceless. Being able to activate spaces and expose from my mouse was much needed.

Ok cool, thanks.

I have the 2 finger Swipe Up as my "show desktop" right now. Still trying to solidify what I want my other global and applications specific shortcuts to be.

EDIT:
TipTap Left/Right is a pretty good gesture for switching tabs in Safari.

I am having trouble getting this to work as well - when I choose macbook w/ touchpad nothing works - when I choose mac without then I can use the tap features but none of the swipes work.

For example I have tried two finger swipe down for expose and all I get is the scroll - should I disable scrolling?

Ditto. Even after troubleshooting I can't get a single thing to work.

what kind of mac are you using?

I've got the new 27" i7 iMac. I've tried multiple versions, restarting BTT, resetting, adding/removing gestures, sensitivity settings... I just can't figure it out. The setting in the 'general' section is set to the multitouch touchpad macbook setting.

but if you don't have a macbook you have to set it to the one "without multitouch touchpad" (and then restart btt)

I have done that - i7 imac here as well, and the 2 finger up and down gestures still dont work for me - I am trying to do them down the center of the mouse and all I get is the scroll

I finally got it - I had to turn off some of the mouse settings in the system settings and just set it up in bettertouch

strange, what did you deactivate?

Next version will allow you to set the sensitivity of a swipe.

Fuzzi, welcome to the thread and thanks for creating such a wonderful tool for us to enjoy! Im assuming you are the dev by the wording of a couple of your posts. Am I correct?

5 MORE DAYS!!!! How can you stand it!??

Hey Fuzzi, I would be interested in how you have your BTT set up. I mean, you created this thing, Im curious how you use it?

Everything but 1 finger scrolling - it still doesnt work as well as I expected but at lease I can get expose to work now

Play around with sensitivity also. My 2 finger swipe up and down works flawlessly. Its the tiptap I cant get to work very well.
