It am happy to wait until 14.6 is released. I would expect it to come out on the week beginning the 17th due to the new iPad's and Apple TV's out on the 21st. Thats not saying I wouldn't be happy with a 14.5.2 release to fix the issue. Something tells me this was a rushed fix to deal with this webkit issue. Whatever they did it appears to be quick and brutal, hope we get a more refined fix next update.

Don't some iOS updates require Spotlight to re-index everything, which slows things down and uses more battery until it's done?

iPhone 6S still chugging along fine. Actually surprised by how fast this thing feels. It'll finally be getting retired this year when the iPhone 13 Pro arrives. Battery life is abysmal but it is half a decade old with constant use.

My multi core performance dropped to half on GB5 and single core is kinda low too on the 12.

Guess I'm not affected. Could have sworn things were running slower than usual but it's just me lol.

Hi,
I had this too on my 7+ until I plugged it to my MBA.
Awfully slow. Restarting or force restart didn’t work.
It even took ages to find the network.
So I decided to restore it to the previous working version but…
As soon as I plugged it to the laptop my iPhone started to work normally again.
So I didn’t restore anything, unplugged it and all went well again.
Odd.

No it isn’t that. Plugging it to a power source instantly restored normal operation.
Why?

Thanks for tip @Chartz , I plugged my throttled iPhone 11 Pro into my PC, started iTunes, disconnected the cable , and now all is back to normal :)

For anyone who corrected the bug by plugging the phone into iTunes, can someone restart the phone and advise if still “fixed?” Or if it reverted back to the slowness? Might need to be a continuous workaround until the bug is squished.

Damn, this is a really nasty bug, I factory reset and restored mine from icloud, fixed it for now but I dont dare restart my phone, I dont want my phone to be crippled again

My XR is roughly the same (single core was 3pts higher, multi was 2pts lower), my finacée's 11PM is also pretty much the same.

I am experiencing a weird connectivity issue with my watch (Gen3 WiFi) now, tho.

What exactly do you mean by a “hard reset”?

Click volume up, click volume down, hold power/Siri button until powers off.

Ive always called this a “hard reset”, not sure the technical term, but that’s what I did. No issues since.
