messages has been on the mac for years, a descendant of imessage; it's not a 'port from IOS'; and it's not a universal issue.

is this the only app that happens with? perhaps try changing the font size in messages, then back to what you want...

I already tried it, still blurry. I don't have retina display.
There is completly redesing Messages app in Big Sur. I tought it's port from iOS.

Can confirm blur in Messages "To:" field in latest beta, regular DPI in VMWare Workstation Pro 15.5, so far it's the only app I've found that's having this issue (zoom in to see the difference between the blurry field and the normal one on the left).

Thank you for confirmation! For me its only in messages body not in side bar with contacts.

Widgets stop updating at some point - can't confirm yet
Square highlights in menus, Fixed
Control center top gap and different corner radius - still there
Weird 'heavy' scrolling behaviour in some instances (notification center, control center, music when in album, ...) (nothing new, though) - still there

Works fine for me all the way up to 4K.

EDIT: plays on my other mac (on catalina). hmmm

EDIT 2: 6 minutes later, and it's now working here on my big sur mac. go figure... (no really; go figure...) 😂

EDIT 3: tried again, and back to the error message. not sure what's happening. i notice the 'auto' default is 360p...

i have the Photos issue mentioned in that video (if i drag an image from Photos to the desktop, it disappears). i can export from Photos to the desktop...

ah, yikes. NO videos (except 'live now" videos) are playing on youtube (i tried disabling content blockers, disabling wipr...).
