I would say in 2 weeks, following Dev Beta 4, rather than next week. Then it’ll be the same build as DB4.Not looking likely for today 😔 next week I guess.

Doubt it’ll be in 2 weeks, apple said it’ll be released in July.
They could release dev beta 4 next week.I would say in 2 weeks, following Dev Beta 4, rather than next week. Then it’ll be the same build as DB4.
Weekly betas haven’t usually started until DB5 in the past. So, not much track record to support DB4 being next week. They could release dev beta 4 next week.
Hopefully they squash a few more bugs this week, then surprise us with a public beta release mid week. 😊
I think you’re setting yourself up to be disappointed.
Any updates on the possibility of it dropping today?
Nope. Too late in the day. Usually updates drop at 10am PST.Any updates on the possibility of it dropping today?
Is the public beta supposed to be different than dev beta 3?.. anyways I was also eager to try Big Sur after reading the release notes of beta 3 seemed like they fixed a lot of things so I decided to give it a go on my main work machine and call me crazy I installed it 30 minutes before my morning meeting lol.. it all went great I did not lost anything or even had to reinstall any software all my stuff works like normal. This was my experience so far with my MBP 16. I upgraded directly from Catalina 10.15.6 btw.
You do realise that nobody forces you to install the public beta once it’s available, don’t you?Frankly with Developer Beta 3 bricking people's Macs I'd get out the Lego, the Carcassonne or the Hive or go and build some bookshelves and stop obsessing about a public beta release. I've got enough holes in my underpants without having to get all hot and sweaty while installing a public beta this early on, and worrying myself sick as to whether my Mac Mini is going to be "magically" transformed into a solid something only useful for propping open the toilet door.
Yeah I'm aware. I was actually going to do it when beta 1 came out but I carefully read the release notes and there was too much potential issues after reading beta 3 release notes I felt comfortable doing it so I did and so far it's been really good no issues whatsoever.Hello Hjupter Cerrud,
It was quite risky to put macOS Big Sur beta (or any OS beta) on your main work machine. I used to always put the most recent OS beta on my mission-critical machine. After awhile, I got sick and tired of the instabilities that such an action causes. Now, I no longer install OS betas on my machines.
Anyways, I'm glad it worked out for you!

Did those people install it on their main, production partition/volume, or did they create a separate volume/partition and install it to that?
7 hours till public beta time. 😊 Or is it 7 hours till disappointment. 🤔😂
The latter. I will shave my head if it comes out today.
😂😂😂
better get the clippers ready then. 😂
