Firefox tabs now crash regularly on beta 4. Not always, but often enough to be quite annoying. Using Firefox 80 (dev channel).

I'm reasonably sure that Docker for Mac lies at the root of the horrible crashes I was having in Catalina + Big Sur beta 1-4. https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...-checkins-from-com-apple-windowserver.2222878

I cleanly reinstalled today, all appeared good, I started docker, and not even 10 minutes of not using the iMac it crashed. This repeated a few times, I uninstalled Docker, rebooted and now it seems good. (no idea if it holds)

Just moved
  • Google Drive File Stream (working as of Dev Beta 4)
Works fine for me now with only a cosmetic issue. The folder icons don't appear but uploads/downloads and transfer etc all working. No need to reinstall just loaded up on boot.

Still not working for me, go figure. It's getting closer, but now getting a warning that I have to allow google in my security and preferences tab - but it's not popping up in there to be allowed. Go figure. One of these days it's going to get back to working right; ODrive is saving my bacon right now.

Adobe Audition CC still has issues with the way waveforms present themselves in beta 4. Wish that would get fixed; makes my life slightly more complicated.

Interesting. I run Docker all day every day and don't have any crashes.

This issue is going around for a long time, and it is triggered by a combination of things: certain Radeon cards from 16" and iMacs + 2 extra screens (4k 27") + sleep/standby/inactivity + anyone's guess at this point.

It might be not Docker, but in this specific instance, Docker is the one that pushes it over some threshold. At any rate, my iMac Pro did not reboot yesterday evening and it was still on this morning, which is better for me than the last few weeks. Guess I'll get myself a Digital Ocean Droplet ;)

Airsquirell's Reflector seemed to break in beta 4. When mirroring the ipad to the mac it just gives a black screen.

It was fine in betas 1-3.

I downgraded to beta 3.

Hope it is fixed in beta 5.

New Zoom Client for Meetings version 5.2 (released today) crashes for me on Beta 4.
I can start a meeting but then it crashes when accepting participants into the meeting.

My solution worked. But it was only ever going to be a temporary solution. Downgrade to beta 3 to get Reflector working again. I don't know of any workarounds in beta 4.

BUT ... this is unsustainable. I can't stay on beta 3 forever. So I tolerated 1 day more on beta 3 but I'm ready to move on now.

Exploring other apps, I found that LetsView - which does a similar thing to Reflector - DOES work in beta 4.

So I installed beta 4 again and got LetsView working.

I really think this is not something that apple has to solve. So although I said before that I hoped beta 5 would solve it - which would be nice, it's really for Airsquirrels to solve, not apple. Especially since other similar apps still work in beta 4.

I contacted Airsquirrels about it so maybe they will do something about it.

But for now I'm back on beta 4 and will be exploring other apps, rather than downgrading an entire operating system merely to get 1 app to work again.

Is Office 2019 16.39 Standalone compatible with Big Sur without enable Insider Updates? I use a lot Outlook.

LibreOffice doesn't work on PB build # 20A5343j
This was v 6.4.3, the latest v7.0.0.3 works okay.

Latest Diablo 3 build is quite playable, on iMac 17,7 late 2015 with PB
build

Also the latest Logitech (G-Hub) v 2020.6.58918 is working ok with G502 mouse.

I have not used it since I installed the beta for will try and confirm that
It's in the Mozilla FF Bugzilla now...tons of people seeing this. Might be related to having uBlock Origin installed, but I haven't tested this.

cisco anyconnect 4.9 doesn't work even with disabled SIP
I'm using AnyConnect 4.8 successfully since beta 1. Still working fine on beta 4. Both installing it on a fresh Big Sur installation and also bringing it along through the upgrade from Catalina made no difference.

Ableton Live 10 Suite doesn't want to load up correctly, for me at least. All I am getting is a grey, blank window that also doesn't load the splash screen on launch either.

Any idea of what could be used to replace Xbox 360 Controller driver from Drew Mills? Of course, the install of is version 1.0.0 alpha 6 just failed as I expected.

At this link, it's says that Drew is "focusing on DriverKit support. That work is in-progress." which means that this driver won't be port to Big Sur, if I understand it correctly.

So then, is there any solution?
