Why can't you clear your history? Click on the history tab and then scroll down and click 'clear history'.

Also, you can put the battery icon back into the menu bar. Go into System Preferences, Dock & Menu Bar, Battery and then turn on Show in Menu Bar and Show Percentage.
It won't let me "Clear History" is gray, I can't click on it. I did not know you could move the battery icon, Thanks.

Can anyone confirm if Parallels 15 runs on Big Sur?
There was an update (supposedly), but I wanted to double-check.
Big Sur would not startup for me on my iMac. After three full installs and many twists I discovered Parallels mentioned in the crash report and suspected it was in conflict with Big Sur; causing a crash during the startup process. I could only run Big Sur in Safe Boot mode and because Parallels would not run in Safe Boot mode, a normal check for updates was not possible. I downloaded Parallels 16 to my downloads folder and then used AppCleaner to remove all the Parallels 15 files from my machine. When I restarted from Safe Boot mode, Big Sur started up without any problems. I installed Parallels 16 and followed some Windows update instructions and now life is back to normal. I hope this is helpful.

Scrivener appears to be working. It installs and opens up ok, and gives me the tutorial.
I haven't written the Great Australian Novel in it today, but it's not lunchtime yet...

I have been told by the Silverfast team that they are doing testing on their software and so far it seems to work. They are still testing, so it seems that if something will need a fix they are on it.

My handoff/continuity/universal clipboard has stopped working. I can copy & paste from my laptop and Mac mini to my iPhone, but not vice versa. Everything is enabled as it should be and I'm logged into iCloud. Apps don't hand-off at all. Safari doesn't show open tabs etc.

Seamonkey doesn't show text in app dropdowns, even in dark mode.

Edit- update 20 Nov 2020- new release of Seamonkey last night restores the text in dropdowns.

I do not know why Moom is not working for me.
It is working fine for me. Have you granted Moom access here and in Full Disk Access?

Can anyone confirm if Adobe Creative Cloud (latest versions only) is working in the SHIPPING version (not the betas) of Big Sur? I'm interested specifically in InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

Any 1st-hand experience/knowledge is appreciated.

I only use Bridge and CC. Yes, there is a recent update. Works fine for me.

Hi, I did a quick search here but wanted to make a comment about VMWare Fusion.

VMWare moved to V12 so that it did not use Kernal Extensions and used Apple APIs in Big Sur only. For Catalina it continues to use Kernal Extensios.

I have/had Big Sur installed on 3 machines (2020 MBA, 2020 13" MBPro, 2019 16" MBPro) and 4 VMs which worked fine on VMWare 11 on Catalina. These VMs are various level of W 10 Pro (1809, 1903 and 2004) and all have network issues. One of the VMs would not connect to the network adaptor (Ethernet) and the standard terminal command fix (from the VMWare blog/forum comments) does not work to fix it. The others are more nuanced. They connect to the network (usually via a bridged connection) but MS Windows update cannot find the update server, my browser (Edge, Chrome or Firefox) cannot reach my email server but I can get to Verge, MacRumors etc. VPN connections do not work. It looks as if the NAT is not working, but I cannot verify this.

Bottom line is I have moved my 16" MBro back to Catalina (via Time Machine) and am back to using Catalina with V11 VMware and all VMs work. At this point I have to mark VMWare Fusion 12 as a non working solution for Big Sur. I also tried Parallels 16.0.1 and it has the same problems which leads me to think that Big Sur is the problem. If people have other observations or I have missed an obvious fix, happy to be corrected.

I added VeraCrypt to the first post. It requires FUSE for MacOS (formerly OSXFuse). The FUSE team released a pre-release version (4.0.2) that works with 11.0.1, but they changed library paths which broke VeraCrypt.
Odd. I have VeraCrypt running with FUSE v3.11.2

So...
Two days after installing the Release Candidate Build 20B28, there is an update to bring it to 20B29, which matches the version in the App Store.
Apparently some people, in their hurry, installed a Pre-Release Release Candidate...
What ever happened to the Golden Master terminology?
I now have a 2Gb+ update to download and install.

Overall, I am very impressed with the general behaviour and stability of Big Sur. Early on in the beta cycle I lodged a couple of reports about having to wait a couple of minutes after booting up for it to finish counting all its digital fingers and toes before doing anything. If I even opened a terminal session, the whole system froze.
Now, I was able to do several tasks (opening browser, copying files, etc) while it was still in the process of completing boot up. No problems at all.

What wasn't working properly under 20B28 was emptying trash. Using the keyboard command SHIFT + CMD + BACKSPACE didn't always empty the trash. Today, under 20B29, it works properly, more quickly than before, with a different and more definite sound of a Trash Can lid closing. CMD + SPACE to bring up search is working better as well.

Opposite experience here (well, kind of). I got a MBP 16 2 days ago, it came on Catalina but it needed updating to last 10.14 version. I messed something by trying to install VMware Fusion 8.5 on it (a stupid mistake, all mine). When I realized the mistake I deleted that version and installed VMWF 12 Player, but it didn't work, it kept giving me "broken pipe" messages after installing the VMs (mainly Windows 10).

Tried to factory reset and ended up installing Big Sur from internet recovery (it was the only option at the time that didn't involved stop working and a visit to an Apple Store after scheduling it).

Granted, it was (is) a visual shock, but now everything runs buttery smooth. As soon as I installed the VMs I was up and running in a couple hours, from scratch. Everything works (everything I use, at least: wireless networking, email servers and specialized software that uses internet to call home).

So, in catalina VMWF12 did not worked for me (mea culpa, mea culpa, mea grande culpa) but now in Big Sur it works.
