After a year today I was reading a book and noticed a small brighter dot at the bottom left corner (while on portrait mode), which led me here.
I realise that this is in a different location than where most of you reported to have spotted it. Mine does not have one there.
I am a perfectionist when it comes to electronic products so most imperfections bother me. That is why I got Apple Care. This is indeed a lot smaller than what I saw from pictures posted by others. I am sure most people would not even notice it. It’s generally not noticeable, unless it’s a white/beige background with full light on. It’s a couple of millimetres wide.
You can see it here:

- edit - I have just looked at the picture again, and in real life is much more noticeable than shown by the picture.
That said, now that I know it’s there, I do notice it.
Given the bright spot above the home button (much larger than mine) seems to be affecting many, I was thinking I’d just keep this and reassess at a later stage (I have 12 more months of Apple Care).
Any suggestions are welcome.
Is this something that comes up when apple support run a diagnostic test online (not at the apple store)?
