If (at moment) don't have this issue but, Ipad coming up to 2 years old, have AC+ running out in 3 months, is it worth keeping and fingers crossed, or use AC+ incident to get a replacement and hope get a later device that may have been fixed? Bonus being that you'd get a new battery as well?

Tough call ... if you're happy with your device and it's not showing signs of this then hang fire for a couple of months. I think there is enough evidence that all if not a fair many devices will exhibit this issue over time for a claim under Consumer Law in the UK, which will give you more time.

Replacement arrived. No evidence of spot out-of-the box and I looked really well. Panel is very good and makes my old one look pink and unevenly lit, possible due to age.

Freaked out thinking it wasn't as bright as the old one, then remembered (this happens every time lol) that the display is deliberately dimmed as the device is hot due to it restoring.

AC+ still has 10 days, but there's 90 days with this unit and Consumer Law if anything happens.

For reference, replacement is Week 8 2019 (February). Previous was Week 21 2017 (May)

My replacement is due to arrive tomorrow...Week 15 2019 (April)

Has anyone received a 2019 model that developed the white spot? I sure hope they did something to correct this problem.

I had this issue with my pro. Just above the home button I had a white spot. A few months after the home button failed and you could tell there’s a pressure mark running from the home button to the dot. Maybe a coincidence. Not too impressed with the quality of the 10.5” pro.

It is but arguing that is really difficult. With AC+ at least it's pretty straight forward. It would coat £%9 for an incident and I believe they just swap for a new/refurb rather than repair, and in turn would mean a new battery.

Haven't got it yet so a risk on replacement having it or now as well....have got a couple of months left though.

I'm likely going to try Consumer Law for my 2014 iMac. It's had the same screen fault on 2x screens and now needs a 3rd replacement for the same issue....

I wonder when they will start replacing the 10.5 pros for 11 inch pros...

If this problem is as bad as it seems... they might start doing it.. has anyone gotten an 11 inch back for a 10.5 with this issue?

At what point did this issue start to occur? I have a 10.5 that I have had for almost a year.. no white spot in sight.. and I purchsed apple care after reading this thread.

I just received my replacement 10.5. It came in a white box, and only took two days from the time I shipped my old one back. It appears perfect, no white spots. As I said in my previous post, it’s a week 15 (April) 2019 model.

I doubt they will replace them with 11” pros. The supply of 10.5s would have to be severely constrained. With all of these going back they will probably have plenty to refurbish.
[doublepost=1559875527][/doublepost]I’m curious if the method of charging has anything to do with this. I just got a 30w usb-c charger to use with my 10.5 pro. A couple weeks later I noticed a very faint bright spot.

Lol so I take back my not a white spot in sight. I actually just did a all white webpage and blew it up and behind.... the spot.

Good thing I got apple care back in December. This is very noticeable in the notes app. I guess I can live with it. Maybe I’ll try and see if I can get it replaced for a different model. I don’t want to be sent refurb after refurb with this issue. I have a call with Apple tomorrow.
[doublepost=1559880660][/doublepost]How do we get a class action lawsuit going, I’m 100 percent serious. Let’s do this.

Is this problem only with the iPad Pro 10.5? Not with iPad Pro 12.9 2nd gen or iPad Pro 11? Thanks.

1. Is the white spot issue specific or imbedded on the screen or hardware issue attached to the screen?

2. Is ProMotion within the screen or a feature attached to the motherboard, separate from the screen?

Looking forward to your responses with utmost interest.

If you're asking to swap screens with the Air 3, you can't.

I do wonder if you could add a bit of foam or thermal padding under the display connectors if you opened it up though. It seems like that’s what Apple did in the Air 3 design, presumably to prevent this issue.

It’s now happened to me a second time. First time was replaced for free under warranty in October. Now the replacement has a bright spot but since it’s outside of warranty I was offered 2 options: a replacement iPad for $450 or trade-in for $300 gift card!

That’s terrible and I can tell you what happened to me I went to Orlando which is an hour and a half from me drove there in the rain yesterday waited until my time which was almost 2 hours and they saw the spot and they recognized it however they told me they don’t have any 10.5 iPads in stock the closest one is 100 miles away, I had told him that was an unacceptable then just give me an 11, the first guy would not do it so they sent the manager the manager looks at me and tells me to trade my new six month old 10.5 in And buy an 11 you don’t know what I almost said LOL I said this was ridiculous and I walked out I’m calling my senior manager at Apple tomorrow this is not right at all.

Why would they give you an upgrade? Do an advanced exchange online and have them ship you a refurb 10.5.
That’s why am going next well the advisor said if they didn’t have them they would upgrade me to an 11, but that did not happen.
