Do you have light bleed on the left side? How many spots?

I am having light bleed on the left. 3 bright spots. Mine is a 2nd gen 12.9 256gb cellular but no other accessories and they refused to replace mine for free too. If I spent on it as much as you did I would be furious.
Left side on mine too. 3 spots slightly past halfway on the selfie cam side. A few days ago another two spots appeared closer to the home button side, still along the left side. Touch issues are becoming more frequent. I'm seriously considering having it repaired at a 3rd party shop for less than Apple wants. I'm not giving Apple another penny for this iPad. I already spent enough.

I recently had my 10.5 iPad Pro exchanged for a replacement unit due to dead pixels/bright spot. The genius tech claims this issue may be due to use of Smart Keyboard pushing against screen. Does anyone else with this bright spot issue use a Smart Keyboard? Is this defect smart keyboard related?

Never used a Smart Keyboard with mine that has this issue.

My wife and I both have 10.5 inch iPad Pros and they both have developed bright spots towards the home button. Disappointing.

omg, dang it. ive seen some youtube video with the entire comment said that they were happy with their ipad pro 10.5, like they have no issues at all or they're just didnt notice
anyone know is this bright spot will absolutely be on your ipad pro 2017 no matter what, or its just come out on the certain country or production or something?
i really was looking forward to buy this ipad, but with this problem that not being solved by apple (a replacement is not a solution i believe), it makes me confused

It does seem that the spot only affects screen sizes above the standard (time will tell if the 10.2 also gets it), but that the 10.5 Pro is more likely to be affected than any other model. Haven’t heard of any on the 3rd Gen Pros, but someone shouldn’t have to pay out so much to get a larger screen minus bright spots.

Omg, i was about to get the air 3 above the pro 2017. The bright spot on 2017 makes me think twice as my decision goes to air 3, for the design and illustration purpose. Up until now, apple seems like really dont listening to their customer. Is this bright spot also on ipad 2018? Wouldnt really be surprised if the answer is yes.
I have not heard (nor seen, we have 2) of the 9.7 2018 iPad having this issue. It is a time-tested (relatively speaking) design. I think it is the best bang-for-the-buck iPad in the entire lineup.

I have got 4 big spots. Apple sucks big time. Im considering changing another brand. Is there a hope for global call on iPad 10.5?

Had an argument with Apple Support over the phone. No dice. The spots are getting brighter on my 12.9. Attaching an image.

If this gets worse, the trade in values will be affected.

yea, the most affected model is the pro 10.5

It’s looking to be more an issue with the laminated displays. iPads with slight air gap between display and top glass (OG ipad air, 2018 iPad etc) appear to be free from spotlighting and/or bright spot which kinda makes sense when you consider that no actual hand/finger pressure actually touches or presses on the display itself. The laminated displays are subject to issues, imo, due to the display having bare minimal enclosure space between the display and components underneath. Without a separation of top glass and normal daily usage, the display is continuously pressing on the device innards and creating pressure points

I already returned it. You would not be able to see mine in pics. Faint and only seen when scrolling against solid colours. I'm thinking of getting the ipad mini 5 instead. Or maybe the new budget ipad since the display is not laminated?

Good thought... even though the Air 2 has a laminated display and doesn't exhibit the bright spot issue. It is possible that after the Air 2 Apple changed the process for manufacturing laminated displays.

is u guys using temper glass or screen guard or no at all on your bright spoted ipad?
i wonder if wearing tg or sg would prevent this to be happen

Has anyone noticed this? Try it - Hold it in landscape and scroll with your finger near the bright spot. Do you notice a white trail following your thumb on that side of the screen? It goes away right away but I notice it. Doesn’t happen on the left side of the display near the front camera not surprising.

Also if you push against the back of the tablet just lightly near the existing white spot a few more temporary white spots appear until you alleviate the pressure.

edit: Pushing down on the bottom bezel also causes the same thing the temporary white spots basically form a line.

random people just told me, he got an ipad air 3 a week ago. And... he got a bright spot on the bottom left of the screen, dang it

Well I picked up the iPad mini 5 last night and it’s just too dang small. Just feels too cramped and much of the text is too small. Will have to go back to the iPad Air and hope for the best.
