Sure, why not.

I love this 'Internet tough guy' tone you're taking with me; keep it coming.

And to be perfectly clear, I own multiple Apple products and praise their efforts but doesn't mean I have to be a sheep and follow the herd.

Internet tough guy?
Seems you only want one point of view and that's yours.

----------

Sure, but you'd have to engage in some epic cherry picking to find benchmarks to suggest the iPhone 6 is flat out superior to the S6.

And on the other side, you'll have to show where the s6 is vastly superior in ones day to day workflow.

Those who know me on these boards know that's far from true.

I may be having gripes with the S6, but it's still a more enjoyable phone than my iPh6. For example, having the back button on the wrong side is still better than having no back button at all. ;)

And have to compared their screens? The S6 screen puts the iPh6 screen to shame. It pummels it.

The only thing that can be discussed is facts. I will never debate the subjective stuff like, user experience. Apple loves when their blind followers talk about user experience. Because there's just no debating something someone else "feels" is a superior user experience. So we go straight to the facts. The facts are, the iP6 and 6+ both have inferior hardware. There is no debating this. From there, I say said iPhones have no business selling at the same price as phones like the S6/S6 Edge. I am betting the very same blind followers make other other purchases in their lives with this logic. But for some reason, not only do they let Apple overcharge them, they also defend Apple for doing it. The fact that Apple gets away with this says more about the buyer than Apple. This is why I refer to them as blind followers. For the record, not every apple customer is a blind flower. By no means am I saying this.

I think a fairer assessment is the camera, which is a huge battleground for Apple vs Samsung.

The camera on the S6 is ridiculously good, and the iPhone 6S needs to improve a lot (which is should).

Do you have any samples to proof S6 is better?

Jay, I don't own an S6 but iPhone's camera sensor is pretty darn good.

  1. Better clarity display
  2. Better display outdoor brightness and visibility
  3. Better camera
  4. Better multi-tasking
  5. Better lowlight photography
  6. Faster browser performance
  7. Better interapp sharing for social media and productivity
  8. System wide EQ for optimum music reproduction with a variety of speaker types
  9. Superier glance and go information availability
  10. Faster charging time for short interval touch-ups
  11. Wireless charging

That's what my day usually involves, and all superior to the iPhone.

Mind you, I don't regard all the above as make or break. If the iPhone 6S dropped with a 1080P display, 14nm SOC, 2GB of RAM and wider support of extensions, I wouldn't have a problem returning to the iPhone.

I just don't think the iPhone 6 of today is all that great of a product, especially when compared to the S6.

What you listed is nothing like my workflow and that you mentioned specs for the 6s shows there is some correlation between hardware and purchase for you. I look at how efficient I can be and how is it to work on my device in a way I like.

I'm not going to list my workflow, because frankly it doesn't matter to this discussion. I've grown to like the iPhone, ecosystem and support; integration with other Apple devices and ease of use. I have a high end camera that complements the 5s camera and like the 5s itself.

That you like your phone I give you a thumbs up.

100% what I've been saying. Apple makes good products, but what gets them where they are is the branding (and all the things associated with that, ie. marketing, loyalty, previous innovations, etc).

The answer is no. At least not in 2015. Don't expect a real S6 rival from Apple till iPhone 7.

I personally prefer the S6 over iphone 6. The lack of Ram, blah display, and lesser camera are reasons I don't have an iPhone currently.

Looking foward to the 14nm iPhone 6S though with more Ram.

Not a knock but why do you always buy a iPhone anyways when they come out if you feel that way? You know you will get a 6s even if it doesnt have more RAM, lol. Just sayin.

The GS6 i think is too thin. I like the feel better with my Spigen case on it and would have prefered a bigger battery to it being so thin.

Yup. I guess 1Gb of RAM is really holding back the performance.

My point, which is another opinion, is also valid. Benchmarks are a valid way to show performance, the number of cores is not necessarily a gauge of how "fast" something is.

I understand your point; specs isn't everything to you, I get it.

But my point was when comparing specs, iPhone is waaay behind compared to the rest of the market. However, Apple has done and excellent job in optimizing the software so it runs smoothly at 1GB of ram.

I also believe that apple faithful have been convinced that specs mean nothing in which I believe isn't true.

I get your point of view and it is not mine. Btw "Apple faithful" is just another derogatory way of saying "Isheep" etc, which should have no place in this conversation.

Don't know where you folks are coming from. Folks getting an ip6 are getting an upgrade to their prior device. So what if the specs/hardware isn't keeping up to other devices.

They are happy, it's their money and if they are not pleased with using it in their daily life well they can return it just like the other devices.

Actually, they're going more for people who care about functionality, integration and directness/ease of use.

Bingo. I eventually realized that you can say over and over that what you have has a fast processor, a lot of ram, etc, but it doesn't mean crap if the user experience sucks.

Why won't Apple match Samsung's flagship, Galaxy S6?

I get it, Apple doesn't need too but why won't they match android's latest flagship like the Samsung Galaxy S6 spec-by-spec?

Cost? Apple being Apple, sort of like BlackBerry that decides WHAT IS BEST FOR THEIR USERS.

I'm not complaining about any of my iToys but just curious.

I don't know what the 6S will get but I'm sure it'll be just a slight speed bump, I doubt they'll go Quad HD. Again, not really necessary but I just want them too.

Specs are a bit useless without an operating system, and iOS is superior to Android. For Apple to match any Android phone, Apple would have to handicap iOS quite a bit.

As far as I'm concerned Samsung's S6 has matched the iPhone 6..

-non-plastic back
-non-water proof
-non-removable battery
-no external storage
-same antenna band design
-curved glass (not screen itself, but the bezel)

I imagine, if people start switching from their "iToys" to "sToys" apple will try to match.

But this isn't happening, the reverse is.
