Well the invisibleshield was already on the my phone when I ordered the case. No point in taking it off.

Did the Caudabe still fit OK with the skin? Or was the fit really, really tight? I'm considering going this route because I think I still like the stock feel every now and then.

This is a little off topic, but does anyone who bought the Veil also have the Power Support Air Jacket. I know the Power Support is much thicker, but I'm wondering what people's experiences are in comparing the two.

Had a veil on my 5s and dropped my phone while getting out of my car (SUV height). Some cracks/scratches on the case but my phone is unharmed.
So this case does in fact provide some drop protection.

These are the two cases I own for my gold 5s.
I find myself switching between the two every few weeks.
I really like the thinness of the veil and still being able to see the gold.
But when I really want to show off my phone and the color I'll switch to the Air Jacket. I also feel like it provides a little more protection so I use it when I travel and such.

FYI, the Veil has gone down to $12.95 on Amazon. Tough to beat for under $13 shipped with Prime.

I got one tonight - agreed, great deal for Prime members. Looks from the product description that the price reduction is only temporary for a few days.

I caved and bought a Power Support over the weekend. It's going back to the Apple Store though. Meticulously crafted, but I forgot how much I hate glossy plastic cases. Much too slippery for my tastes. It also picked up two scratches on the upper right hand corner in a grand total of 30 minutes of use. Nice case, but if I'm going with something that adds that much thickness, I'd rather use something like the Luvvitt Clearview. Otherwise, I'll just stick with my Veil for pure thin awesomeness.

Hello,

I purchased several cases in response to posts on this forum while looking for an extremely thin case.

I have the Veil, the Desmay Slight and the Air Jacket.

As far as thickness go, the Air Jacket is slightly thicker than the others, however you would be hard pressed to see it unless you literally put them right next to each other.

From a protection standpoint, the Air Jacket is clearly superior than the other two, its much more solid feeling, but also a bit rubbery to offer a slight amount of shock absorption.

The Slight also has a somewhat rubbery feel, where the Veil feels the most plastic of the three.

The fit of all three are all perfect IMO, no gaps or loose areas. The Slight and the Veil are quite easy to put on the phone and remove, however the Air Jacket, being more solid, is more difficult.

Of the three I prefer the Air Jacket the best, however I worry that the phone may be damaged by taking it in and out of the case, its that tough to put it in. If you are the type who wants to change up cases for fun, or try new ones as they come out I would not suggest the Air Jacket as you may end up scratching the delicate finish of the phone.

But if you just want one case and are going to leave it in there, I would recommend the Air Jacket over the other two. The slight, almost unnoticable increase in thickness is IMO, offset by the greater feeling of protection. I also prefer its total black look over the rather brownish Veil, and the semi transparent Slight ( even though I purchased black, its more of a slightly transparent charcoal ).

Good post. I agree - the Air Jacket is almost impossible to take off. But it fits very precisely which was nice. As I said earlier, I just couldn't get over the slippery feel. I think it's partly due to the anti-scratch coating. But the darn thing scratched so easily anyway. Sort of a double whammy.

On the brownish Veil, I think you may have gotten the older version. I know exactly what you're talking about as I still have the Veil I bought last year. I thought I recall someone on this thread posting photos of the old and new versions (sorry, too lazy to look). The old was definitely a little brown, the new is gray/charcoal which I prefer.

I was considering buying the Veil, however the slippery aspect put me off, so I decided to buy Air Jacket Rubber and it is really great: good grip (I like the rubbery feel), isolates the heat between the phone and my hand, super sleek and precisely done, definitely worth its price. I am sure however it is thicker than Veil. I usually hate to put anything on the iPhone, however the heat and slippery issue started to really annoy me.

I haven't really felt the Veil to be slippery in the time I've used it. It's certainly an upgrade in terms of "slipperiness" from a stock iPhone. My beef with the Air Jacket is that, while it was very precise, it was also way too slippery and smudge-tastic. The Rubber version you mentioned is probably better in these respects, but it's opaque and would completely cover up the iPhone. That sort of defeats the purpose of the type of case I'm looking for.

Had the Caudabe Veil for under 30 days and it's already broken. There were some slight imperfections upon taking it out of the box but it was very slight and I could live with it. Fit was absolutely perfect first time but a week later when I removed it to remove some dust that had gotten in there, I could both feel and see the case flex a bit on both sides where there was absolutely no give the first time. Just today, noticed that one of the sides where it curves on the bottom is coming apart right where there was an imperfect rubber finish. Return option only from Amazon so it's going back and I'm undecided if I will repurchase. Have to say the finish/thinness were amazing and received multiple compliments over the 3 weeks I had it. Might have just been mine but wanted to share my experience.

Why don't you email them? Their customer service is really responsive. I had an issue with mine and they just wanted a photo. Sent me a replacement the next day.

Thanks! I'll try that but someone previously had said they told them to return the item to Amazon since they were still within the return period.

Yes, you must return it to Amazon if you bought it from them within 30 days. After 30 days, Caudabe Support can deal with you directly for any issue and will be able to send you a replacement... Usually they just ask for the picture.

I have for sure gotten a replacement from them while still within Amazon's 30 day period. I guess it just depends on the situation? Or maybe it's a "you only get what you ask for" type deal. Or maybe it depends on who you deal with there? Reminds me of the Apple store geniuses. Some swap out problem units for a new one right away, others aren't so generous.

Is this case easy to remove without damaging it or the phone? If so, what's the best way? I want to clean out dust that's gathered through the gaps.

I usually just start at the bottom corners. Snap off one at a time and then slide the phone out. Haven't had an issue yet using this method.

That was me. And after months of use, I've noticed the corners starting to bulge out a little, kinda like stretching in a way. Barely noticeable, but on my phone, I can see the shiny silver outer rim of the phone showing through where the case now bulges a little. Not a big deal, almost expected from over time use. I'll try to grab a pic of it.

Not sure how relevant this is for people here, but I got an email today from Caudabe promoting a $4.95 shipping rate for international orders on their website (which I suppose means outside the US). Seems like a good deal - I bought one for a family member overseas a while ago and I think shipping was $10 or so back then.

Has anyone actually tried the glass screen protectors with their Veil? If so, thoughts?
I have the iloome ScreenMate Flex and the Veil case...no problems at all. I recently purchased a Veil from Amazon (Prime) and noticed the quality is not the same as before. It feels more plastic this time, it was more smoother before and it felt like skins.

Thanks. I'll try out the iloome screen protector.

I bought another Veil recently too. Exact same thing as my prior purchases. Fit and overall feel were excellent as usual. Maybe you got a lemon?
