Frost looks terrible on space gray.

I agree. The frost is either for the silver or the gold iPhone. On the space gray iPhone, the frost washes out the black glass way too much. If the entire phone were just space gray, it might not be too bad because there actually isn't much of a difference between space gray and silver. But the frost on black doesn't work. Just my opinion.

I thought I read here the frost was clear basically and the product description on amazon read 99% transparent so that is what I bought.

It's translucent. I wouldn't call it 99% transparent. Frost is actually a decent description for it. Like a frosty mug. Maybe not that frosty, but close. Anyway, clear enough that you can clearly see your iPhone.

I got it yesterday and I happy with it, I can appreciate those that are not though. For me, the biggest factor is not really adding any bulk and thickness to the iPhone.

I am not going to be looking at the back of the iPhone all that much anyways. :)

Hi all, I've been combing through this thread for info about the Causable Veil, but I still have one question about the buttons/cut outs: do the volume and power buttons protrude/extend beyond the case? Are they flush? Or are they slightly recessed?

I ask because I had a similar case for an iPhone 4 and the buttons were more or less flush with the case, which made them difficult to press without having to use my fingernail a little bit. Especially comparing it to and official Apple bumper with its integrated volume and power buttons.

This is absolutely not an issue with the Caudabe Veil. The cut outs are very accurate and the buttons are very easy to access.

the volume buttons protude just a hair. The power button is just about flush with the case.

I got this email too. Has anyone here tried the 5c version? Is it the same as the 5s?

I didn't really like the look of the Wisp version with my black iPhone 5. It looked too dark. Is it ridiculous to get the Frost version instead? I haven't seen any pictures of it online and was curious. Thanks.

By too dark do you mean that the back couldn't be seen at all and that it looks all black instead of translucent? Any chance that you have a picture of the Wisp on your black iPhone?

I'm in a dilemma between choosing the Wisp or the Frost for my phone, which is not the 5s Space Grey but rather the old iPhone 5 Black. So I assume that the Frost would look ugly on it since it would totally flush the colour out, like the Thinshield for example: http://i.imgur.com/hDa6Tc2.png

Based on some photos I saw here, the Space Grey 5s look great in both Frost and Wisp because of the noticeable two tone back. Not sure if I can say the same with the Black iPhone. I guesss I'm leaning more towards the Wisp but I still want the back to be seen :(

Ugh I'm so confused lol. The pain of being a non-5s user :p

Is anyone finding this case to get dinged up pretty quickly? I am on my second one and the top area seems to get the worst of it. I am usually very careful and not rough on my devices. Anyone else find the same?

What do you mean by dings? I've had two in the past year and the second one is still going strong after months. No damage but a few scratches (although better on the case than on my phone). I've never dropped it. This is definitely a case more for the looks than the protection, so I think it just depends on your usage patterns.

Below is what I mean by "ding". That was the first that prompted me to get a replacement from Caudabe. Now on my second case and the top is not as bad but getting a little "rough" around the edge on top. Nothing major but just wanted to see if others are finding the same, even *with* being very careful of the device.

I absolutely love this case and will continue to use it on my iPhone 5S. As a matter of fact, Caudabe was kind enough to sponsor a giveaway that we will soon have on the podcast I co-host on (iOSDocked - www.iOSDocked.com). We will be giving away a couple of Mist and Veil 5S cases. You'll need to listen to the show and then follow iOSDocked on Twitter.

The staff over at Caudabe are top-notch!

That almost looks like you dropped it right on that edge? I've had mine for several months now and nothing of that sort.

Ha, yeah that's some real "pain"! I think the Wisp would look quite good with the slate iPhone 5 actually. I have the frost Veil, but from what I've seen of the Wisp on my friend's phone, it's actually translucent gray and not an opaque black. I can't say for sure, of course, but I would think you would still be able to see the back through it.

so which one peel or caudabe ? i ve space grey which one you recommend ? and can i ask what is the difference between caudabe and a generic cheap case?

Caudabe Veil short review

I ordered one in the Wisp Black color for my Space Gray 5s yesterday afternoon and it arrived this afternoon. Under 24-hours via Amazon Prime is very impressive. To echo what has already been said in this thread multiple times, it is AMAZINGLY thin. Difficult for my hands to tell the difference between naked and cased in fact. Mine does have the slight "raise" at the area in front of the wake/sleep button, but I'm betting with a little heat from a hair dryer I can press it into shape.

Overall I'm very impressed with this case. It is the very definition of minimalist and I'm all about that. Job well done Caudabē!

ETA: I had been using an Apple leather case and Magpul Field Case, both in black prior to receiving The Veil. They are both excellent options and I still may use them from time-to-time, but nothing beats the feel of "almost naked" for me.

Can you see through it at all ?
