Depends on your tolerance for potential accidents. There is no free lunch and the Veil will give you the same feeling and look as a bare phone, with better protection than no case or decals. The Apple leather Case offers better protection and phone coverage, but feels like it has a case, albeit a fairly thin nice looking one.

Exactly what I was going to reply in my own words . Lol

If you put this case on and take it off a couple of times, does it stretch/warp/distort, or does it keep it's shape and tight fit pretty well?

As I said earlier, I've taken my case off countless numbers of times and put it right back on with no issue. It's been quite a while now. Still very happy with the fit. To be honest, these things are cheap enough that if one warps, it's not exactly too expensive to just buy another.

I received mine from Amazon last week. I've taken it off about 4 times already and no problems at at all.

I own .35mm cases from Desmay, Peel, and eBay stuff that are poorly designed and cheap quality. I believe Caudabe is the best .35mm case in the market. I didn't believe it until I received my case.

I tried the caudabe, thought it was exactly what I wanted but found it too slippery. I like ones that have a little grip to them from the rubber coating. It's the exact form factor just missing the grip I wanted. I have one to sell that was used for exactly half a day if someone is looking for one on the cheap.

clear one?

why not try some gecko strips on the side?

The black smoke one. I found a different 0.5mm case that has almost no lip and a rubberized feel, that was my two key requirements.

Finally found this one that fits the bill. It's got the slightest lip on the front. If caudabe releases one with the coating I will return :D

The top is wide open and exposed for scratches. I'm already compromising the bottom exposed of my Veil case.

Yeah, that wouldn't work for me either because of the exposed top. I like the Caudabe because the top is covered.

I actually wouldn't want that coating. Those coatings invariably wear off over time, especially for something you use as often as a phone. Then you're left with disgusting patchy chunks everywhere. I actually think the Veil as is adds MORE grip compared to just a naked iPhone.

Also looks like it's 0.5mm instead of 0.35mm. Might not seem like much, but 0.5mm is thicker than I'd like. You start to lose some of the slimness of the naked iPhone once you get to 0.5mm.

FYI - I had a little issue on my Veil case that I bought from Amazon. I emailed Caudabe Support and they responded right away. They cannot send out a replacement since I bought it from Amazon. They suggested to return it to Amazon and buy it from from caudabe.com. The price is the same as Amazon for $14.95, however, they gave me discount code of $5.95 -- which pays for the $3.95 shipping and $2.00 for the incovenience. I guess this way they can send me a replacement directly if I have issues. So my total price is only $12.95!!

Does anyone has experience buying the Veil case from caudabe.com (normally I use Amazon)? Thanks!

Yes, I have. If you're a Prime member, then it makes sense to buy on Amazon instead. Otherwise, not sure why there would be any difference between the two. Same exact product, just different locations.

I noticed that I had a tiny bulge near the power/sleep button and actually some small cracks near the bottom of the phone when I received it so I emailed support @ Caudabe and they got back to me almost instantly. They asked for some photos and after that they arranged for a replacement. Hopefully this new one won't have the same kind of issues.

So ....? Did you get your replacement ? Did it fix those issues you were having ?

----------

I noted the same thing in mine too and sent pics to customer support. They are sending me a replacement case.
In the meantime, what I did was put a very small piece of thin double sided tape close to the power button area and it closed the gap.

Did you get your replacement ? How's it now ?

I am surprised to hear this and I suspect Amazon would not be pleased if they were steering away from one of their major distribution parters.. If I had a problem, I would expect the manufacturer to fix it, regardless of which merchant I bought it from. I am willing to be the majority of their sales are vis Amazon.

I agree with this to a point, but I'd also be surprised if they were just willing to send out free replacements willy nilly since Amazon's return policies are so liberal. You could easily just ask them to send you a replacement then return your original order on Amazon and basically get a free case. Not that I would do this, but certainly there are those among us who wouldn't hesitate.

I ended cancelling my order at caudabe.com and ordered from Amazon instead. I have Amazon Prime and 2-day free shipping, I think it's better that USPS First Class from caudabe.com. Plus, my mailman doesn't deliver until 4pm. I had received cases in the mail that feels like it just came out of the oven because it's hot where I live and my case would sit in the mailman truck all day long. With Amazon Prime, my order flies from Amazon warehouse to UPS sorting facility near my area, and onto UPS truck for delivery. Can't beat that!

Ha, that's funny. "Hot case" syndrome has happened to me too.

Problem with Amazon sometimes is that I swear some of their employees must be taking off with the goods. I received a case a couple of weeks ago that had just the box and nothing in it. Another time on another product, I got something that was in the right packaging but was the wrong product. Very odd.

Just got my Veil in the mail today (Amazon Prime). Nothing to say that hasn't already been said, just voicing that I'm extremely pleased so far. Fit tightly out of the box.

My only desire is that it would be darker. That's not really the case's fault, I just regret having missed the Slate color of the 5 (to me the space grey of the 5S looks too much like my 4S) and wished there was a super-thin/veneer-like case that would make my space grey all black/dark. But the wisp color does at least darken it somewhat and still keeps the magic feel of the phone when handling it nude.

Glad you like the Veil case. Enjoy the nakedness of your iPhone. Kudos to Caudabe for job well done!!

Caudabe customer service was nothing short of incredible.

I had an issue with my original case which I wrote about earlier. I e-mailed them and received an e-mail back within 3 hours. I explained the issue, sent them photos.

Because I ordered from Amazon the process was not as seamless but I put a refund in with Amazon and then the guys at Caudabe gave me a discount code to purchase the case off of their website for some $ off. I put the order in on Friday morning and received it on Monday. Super fast!

I received the replacement and still noticed some issues with it. I promptly emailed them back and Jim from Caudabe helped me resolve this asap by sending me a replacement.

Had to jump through a few hoops but all in all a super pleasant experience with these guys. It's customer service like this that makes me want to come back and support their products.

+1 It's a FACT. I send an email around midnight to Caudabe Support and they (Jim) responded to me in minutes.
I had to double check the time because I was surprised because I know they're located in United States...usually companies you'll just get an automatic email confirmation that they've received your email and then get back to you the next business day or two.

Besides the superior customer service, I swear about The Veil case --- the material they use, precise cut (no sharp edges) to packaging (nice and protects the case while in transit) is the best of all the .35mm case I've tried so far (Desmay Slight 5, Peel, eBay, etc.). I jumped from the Apple Leather Case to Caudabe The Veil case for my iPhone 5s (slight gray 32gb).

I just wanted to try the Caudabe The Veil case and planned to return it back to Amazon but it ended up as my everyday case. Now I can't go back to the Apple Leather Case because it looks bulky compare to Caudabe The Veil case!! :)

Just a quick update. I got the replacement yesterday. It fits so much better than previous one. I am very satisfied with their customer service and their product. And thank u guys for providing such great product info. :)

I just received my Black Wisp for my Space Grey 5s. It is amazing how thin this is, and how tightly it fits. I think I found my new everyday case.

I could not find one on ebay, or Caudabe's official site. It's sold out everywhere

Yesterday I ended up searching Amazon one more time, and got it for $6.71 shipped.... from China with a delivery date between Dec 6th and Dec 24th

The good news is I got a notice last night that it was shipped, so it could be here in a week or a month who knows!

Just got the Veil frost that I ordered last week. I fell in love with my brown apple leather case, but this one is making me have second thoughts. I'm going to give the Veil a week try out before a final conclusion, but from first impression, this one looks like a keeper.

First thing to note is the execution of the frost "coloring". When I opened the package I thought they sent me an empty box. Its not white, its not clear, its just right in my eyes. It has a bit of a privacy screen effect, where it is nearly clear in direct sight, but progressively becomes less transparent as you rotate the phone. My only gripe at this point is that it does feel a bit cheap. That being said, its a precision cut 0.35mm case, so not much to expect.
