thanks, took the pics with my iphone 5 and ipad mini.

and yea, i work with SLA resin model prototypes and sometimes they are used to make molds for manufactured products. some of these items can get this thin and i know as a fact, when they are, sometimes the processes used to make/mold them get VERY delicate and are much more susceptible to waves and other defects all because of their lack of rigidity. overall, im surprised how well its manufactured and how they got it to fit so well for being so thin. i wouldve expected the fit to be off or not fully snap into place if the force used to do so overcame the strength of the thin plastic. know what i mean? they did a great job, and i doubt you can get much thinner than this.

I agree. This is some serious precision manufacturing. Caudabe did a great job with the Veil overall. I've seen some cases that are supposedly even thinner than the Veil, but they're so flimsy that they're useless.

Yeah looks like I'm jumping ship on this, do the sides of the phone look good?

I really think it is a very nice case.
It's very thin and fits phone well.
It is matt so it doesn't show finger prints on it.
I do like it a lot..:)

If you want to know how thin the case is, look at how much your volume buttons stick out the side of the phone. That's exactly how thin it is. with the case on it sits perfectly flush with the case.

I have this case - it's great, but aren't you guys afraid of drops? it offers no protection against drops. I am probably more careful than the average person, and even I am scared to use this case outside of the house.

If it doesn't offer that, then what's the point of this case?

That's not completely true. It's protected my phone quite a few times on drops. Of course, if you drop it on concrete, good luck with that.

But let's be honest. This is a case to protect from scratches and bumps to the phone while keeping the form factor extremely slim. I've used this case for a long time now and have had zero problems, but that's because I'm very careful with my phone. Anyone who is clumsy needs to use something a little thicker. But the flip side is then you end up with additional bulk and you cover up the beautiful design of the iPhone more. That's the trade off.

Will that include the Apple Leather Case...comparing to Caudabe The Veil.

I have both. The Apple leather case is certainly more protective, but at the cost of increased bulk over the Veil. The Veil feels like there is no case on the phone - it is as close to naked as it gets. The Apple case also creates a lip on the front, allowing for screen down placement as well as button coverage and full bottom coverage, neither of which is on the Veil. There is no doubt the Apple leather case would offer better protection in some incidents and also not split during a fall, as is probably more possible with the ultra thin veil's material.

I personally like the minimalist feel of the Veil and most times run the risk. It is better than nothing and has the illusion of safety where a bare phone always makes me nervous - a false sense of security, but still not bad for minor accidents. The Apple case is used for travel or other situations where accidents are more likely. I would slot the Veil in between decals and a thin low protection case - I cannot imagine a more thin case that would not split in normal use.

Me too...I personally like the Caudabe The Veil over my black Apple Leather Case. I feel that all other cases are bulky once I'm used to The Veil.

Quick question for all the veil owners- does the case fit the iphone with a back protector on? I have a spigen back protector on my iphone and I just ordered the veil.

YES it will fit with back screen protector. Someone in this thread has mentioned it. I would remove the back (and sides) personally. That's kinda defeat the purpose of buying The Veil case...it already protects the back and sides. Unless someone reports that The Veil case scratches the back and sides bezel in long term use.

Thank you!

I've used a Veil for a while now and zero scratches. I've taken it on and off countless numbers of times and it scrapes the sides each time, but no scratches.

Should i get the apple leather case or the veil for my gold 5s?

Depends on your tolerance for potential accidents. There is no free lunch and the Veil will give you the same feeling and look as a bare phone, with better protection than no case or decals. The Apple leather Case offers better protection and phone coverage, but feels like it has a case, albeit a fairly thin nice looking one.
