Hi my name is oren and i am from israel and i find amazing solution for the problem of yellow screen in iphone x.
the solution is to make a yellow wash to the screen.
open true tone and night shift and put it on the high warm. put the brightness on high.
leave the iphone like that about half an hour preferably with a white background.
after that close true tone and night shift and look the screen and you love what you see. a nice white screen with no yellow at all.
do it again after a while and the yellowish disappear forever.

Anybody else has tried this weird method?

Of course the screen looks white and crisp after you had True Tone and max Nightshift on.....

Just got new (second) phone today and the screen is as bad as before, maybe worse. Looking at my MacBook pro with white screen on and looking at the phone I just want to vomit, because it looks like piss.
Looking at the screen straight the yellow goes from top to bottom white. It is super annoying.
Don´t understand how Apple can release something like this. Dont know if should keep or return and buy iPhone 8 :/

Reading some posts on the iOS 11.2 beta thread that some people are noticing a positive shift in white balance on their iPhone X with iOS 11.2 beta 5 installed.

Should be interesting...

Just installed, nothing changed.
I don’t think this is a software problem, this is OLED reality from samsung...
Everyone has the same thing? It’s yellowish or greenish or even pinkish if you look straight on it and if you tilt it you see really normal colors? Or there is some devices with good colors when the iPhone is parallel to the face?

My screen is fine. It's def not green or greenish when looking straight at it. It shifts to blueish while tilting it. Nothing too crazy. The normal head-on view is a bit warmer, but it's never super yellow. I've checked many display units though and they all vary: some have very prominent pink tint or uneven color uniformity, which gets even more prominent if the phone is tilted.

Even if it’s a bit warm - is it what you are expecting from 999$ device? Mine is also not very warm if watch straight but it’s not what i expected from this really gorgeous iPhone. I’m glad you can live with your screen, but this move from Apple really makes me unhappy :(

It’s very close to the ideal 6500k color temperature.
If you prefer cooler/bluer screens, just turn TT off and be happy.

Be happy with a crappy screen on a $999 phone?? Thats just dumb.
My screen is not crappy. If that person thinks that their screen is crappy, they need to return it for a full refund.
Although, he’s from Moscow. Most likely, there is no return policy like that in place in Russia, as far as I remember.
But that the problem of the Russian mentality in the first place lol
Russians would rather buy a phone that is almost $1500 there and play that lottery, as long as they can show it off to their friends haha

It’s fine, as I’m Russian myself. You can throw as many stones as you want. As somebody who had lived there for a very long time, I stand by what I’ve said lol

Fair enough apologies !

Haha thought you were discriminating against an entire group of people for
Pol hysteria reasons. Thats Not right imo

I could never understand that crazy urge of having such an expensive thing as an iPhone in Russia. Mind that in Russia there is no such thing as “carrier installment plan” or “Apple Upgrade Program”. You have to buy it outright. The iPhone is usually more expensive there as well. The X is around $1400 for the base model there. It’s such a status thing in Russia.
Once my friend’s 4S broke down due to a faulty modem. He had to send in it for diagnostics. Long story short, he had to wait a month before it got replaced! Insanity! There are no official Apple stores in the country, only 3rd party resellers.
So I can’t even sympathize with the author of that faulty screen comment. You know what you sign up for when you get an iPhone in your country. It’s still a mass product, and if there is no proper service in place, I don’t think it’s worth the effort and money.

My iPhone is from US, true tone is off, and i can exchange my phone in authorized service centre for 3-5 days.
And it’s not so bad here as you described.
I’ve just shared my problem because as we can see I’m not the one who cares about this. I saw 6 iPhone X units and only one of them was a bit better than mine.
I’m a developer, and when you describe your app on a MacBook with “white” screen and then the result is not what you expected on a device it's a little disappointing.
I’m happy your screen isn’t crappy, but mine is. And I don’t want to play this lottery, i’m just trying to figure out how widespread the problem is.

How do u know yours is D65?

With True Tone off and it looks yellow to u it’s not calibrated to D65
Who said it looks yellow to me? My TT is never off. You’re confusing me with somebody else.

Well, if your screen is yellow with TT off, you have a problem.
My TT is on all the time, with TT off it’s pretty much on the cool side.
We both know that customer service in Russia leaves much to be desired. You would not be able to exchange your phone due to a spec of dust in the camera lens unlike in the US or Europe.

You could invert the colors and never worry about it.

I have never figured out the use of inverting the colors. Seems pointless to me.
