I can confirm that the following model works perfectly after flashing: 02G-P4-2685-KR (EVGA GeForce GTX 680 SC Signature+ w/Backplate) I am using both the HDMI port and DVI port, one monitor connected into each. Games work great on either monitor. Bootcamp also works perfectly.

Hey All,

What do you think? I’ve two options, but can’t decide. Asus DC II 2GB or Gigabyte Windforce 2GB? Which is better for flashing?

I can attest to the Gigabyte Windforce OC 2GB card flashing easily enough. It is still working great in my MP 3,1 as my daily driver.

EDIT: ...and it runs very cool and quiet. It’s never had to ramp up the fans, even with apps like DaVinci Resolve and Adobe After Effects.

THX.

I will use with these:
1. Primary: LG 34UC79G-B (2560 x 1080) and
2. Secondary: 4K LG TV.

1. Can it appear the efi screen in native resolution in hdmi output or dvi hdmi adapter?

2. What about 4K? If i'd like more than 30 hz, is it possible with dp out?

I'm getting 60hz over the DP on my 4k monitor. I discovered that when outputting 4k over the display port, I don't get the EFI boot screen, so I just hooked up an HDMI-to-DVI cord, and switch to that input if I need the boot selector screen.

I got an 02G-P4-2685-KR after seeing the post by MacOS 8.6 that it works. However, after flashing there is no boot screen over DP, but there is over HDMI. Is this normal?

Also, it's an 8+6 pin card, but it works fine with 2 6 pins, so that's cool.

You might PM him to ask him for that specific card.

Generally speaking there should be boot screens on all of the ports. There are some exceptions, but I didn't think that your card was one of them.

I figured it out. My monitor is DisplayPort 1.2. I tried a DP to HDMI cable and I get the boot screen from the DisplayPort. :)

Dear Gents!

I'm absolutely new on this forum. I think this is the perfect place for my goals. I really want to flash a gtx 680 for my 5.1. I found a Nvidia reference card without any branding. Do you think that could work for flashing? It was part of an Acer Predator PC. More precisely a Predator G5920.

Hello,

Anybody has windforce 680 2gb macified (from) original rom? I think Evga isn't the best for this card.
I've issue: When i using mp and turing on the tv, i got no signal (in tv) and flashing primary display few times... It need to restart to get screen tv too. Experiences?

Yeah probably.

Hi friends!

I successfully flashed the unbranded reference card without any issues. Since I´m using only one 27 Cinema Display I didn't tested all of the ports (only the display port) but I think they would work without any problem.

Just one question. If I would like to try out the new Mojave OS then obviously I lose the Web Driver support. What difference does it make? how much do I lose with the default macOS driver compared to the Web Driver?

Can anyone confirm that 02G-P4-2682-BR can be successfully flashed?
It's the same card as the Mac Edition, forget about the suffix. eVGA used your card PCB for the Mac Edition card, the difference is that they down clocked the Superclocked firmware to the standard Nvidia frequency on the EFI firmware for Mac.

Your card is the best one to flash.

EVGA GeForce GTX 680 Mac Edition

EVGA GeForce GTX 680 Superclocked

Use the same 2GB ROM as eVGA Mac Edition. Read how to do it here:

Step-by-Step Instructions for Flashing GTX680

Hello!!! :)

So I have a PNY GTX 680, and after flashing I got a EFI screen and MacOS is working great!

However, when booting into Windows 10 (or Windows 8.1). It now goes black for a long time while booting. It didn't do this before flashing. I can live with it as I don't use Windows in bootcamp much, but sometimes I like to play a game or two. Was wondering if anyone knows a fix or has this issue as well.

I did try reinstalling Windows a couple times. Tried Windows 10 Windows update driver, and Nvidia's driver.

Sorry for my English!

Thanks!

Hello everybody,

I just received a GTX680. This is a "no name" version, removed from a HP PC. I think that it is a card with reference design, is it right? Is it compatible with EFI ROM for GTX680?

I have read thread (also for 4GB). There is only one version of ROM (for 2GB)?
To flash a card, there is no special think to made with hex editor? Only backup and flash card? (https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...-pci-e-2-0-5gt-s.1603260/page-4#post-17832428)

With 4K display (DisplayPort @ 60Hz), I have read there is no boot screen, is it right?

Thanks :)

It's a 2GB or 4GB one? Seems similar to my eVGA FTW+ 4GB.

Just do a dump, then flash the 2GB or 4GB version. No need to edit anything if you want standard Mac Edition clocks.

Boot screens only with DP1.1 (4K30).
