Maybe it would have been better to wait at least big sur 11.1 before updating...
I think that all problem can be related to SO unstability...
Just thought I'd chime in, had contributed to this thread a number of times, had this KP on reboot on my 16inch Pro and it's logic board replacement.
Last two days I've since had two of the same on my M1 MBP 16gb.
Only have homebrew and some basic stuff installed. Running latest BigSur, no kernel extensions or funny software.
So what can you say... ****ing LOL.
Apple computers can't shutdown is moral of story.

Oh dear well that says alot!!! watchdog timeout on a M1.....guess that it takes Apple maybe 2 years to fix a bug then.....or maybe they just don't have anyone with the skill to fix it. Certainly now exists across cpu and software instruction set changes. It funny in a sense.....
A quick search of the Apple forums and yep...there it is watchdog kernel panics on M1.
On my intel MBP, I was seeing BridgeOS as being responsible for the crash/reboot. These M1's dont have a BridgeOS right ? What do you see as the reason for the reboot

There are threads on the apple community where people have returned there M1 because of the KP and got new M1s and they still KP. Messages being removed and moderated about the complaints.
It’s weird. I haven't seen any "watchdog" Kernel Panic on my work 13" MacBook Pro from 2018 – Catalina before and now on Big Sur. Can restart and sleep/wake just fine. But you restart and get it? ? Also on a new M1 Mac? ?
I also since Big Sur seem spared from at least the "watchdog" related KP on my Mac Pro from 2010 that had problems in Catalina. This computer isn't even supported to run macOS after Mojave.
Watchdog KP also on my MacBook Pro 13” 2020 intel based... I think that is MacOS related...
Given the last few pages that suggest that the kernel panics are caused by the T2 chip. Is everyone here that has the issue got a MAC with a T2? I just stumbled over an interesting thread that seems to suggest that disabling the secure boot and then re-enabling fixes the KP problem for the network you are connected to. Seems to imply that swapping networks is a problem for the T2. There is a link to someone disassembling the code as well but no obvious answer. Maybe some thing to try for those with the cause being the bridge os and error 20. Well some thing to try. Does a M1 have a T2 chip? Is anyone with a pre-2018 MBP having the problem?
no the m1 doesn’t have the T2.
That approve of disabling crutil I tired months ago, doesn’t work.
M1 still panics in same context as T2 Intel, it’s defo a macOS problem.
Since 4 days after disabling SIP, I have not had any shutdown/reboot watchdog panics.
Maybe too early to say if SIP is the culprit.
Still have it disabled, will see for some more days.
Has anybody else found disabling SIP working for them long term ?
If SIP is the problem, it would explain why they occur on M1 macs also.

Don't think so cause my SIP always disabled and I got Watchdog lastnight.

I went free of shutdown watchdog KP for 10 days after disabling SIP.
Then I upgraded to 11.1 and enabled SIP. The KP was back the same day.
Now back to disabling SIP.
