Troll or not I do not negotiate with any vendor trying to blackmail me into buying an old system at modern prices on the basis of an OS of which I have to make countless adjustments for

I see you have jumped threads to spread the love.. : )

Cant we petiton a temporary ban for Generik so we dont have to read his drivel about Mac OS X and overpricing.

No one wants to listen to someone who constantly moans about something that the majority of we mac users have come to accept!

Who is up for it, a temporary ban til the MBP/Macbooks have been updated, it would calm my nerves not having to read his posts!

Transmeta deserves to get burned. After all this time, they go to court while they got the suckiest portfolio compared to Intel. I think it's just the money they want.

I've officially been growing a beard for three weeks now... I vow not to cut it until the MBP is updated. Even if that means waiting a year!!!

compUSA

I don't know if this means anything or not, but compUSA is now saying it's 2-4weeks for delivery of a MBP, and many of their store locations for pick up say none are available (not all, but many). Is this a good sign?

November 23.

That Full Laptop Refresh By Holidays? thread has been hijacked by a Windoze Troll by the name of Generik. The guy is full on about how great Sony Vaios are and what crap Apple makes with limited selection and that Apple should license OS X so anyone can run it on any Intel PC. It's really quite sad how much he is dominating that thread now. The guy is like a Japaneese Kamakazie. Crazy.  He just repeatedly attacks anyone who replies to him.

LOL, I really thought we (us and generik, that is) were on the same boat of waiting for MBPs and don't bother about other companies updating their laptop lines with Merom, because we all agree that Mac is superior both in terms of software and hardware (which, sadly, will only be true after the update).

But having said that, I can see where Apple is coming from by not updating their laptop lines now, if they just update their processor, that makes their hardware juz "as good as the other laptops out there", I believe they want to be further ahead.

Here's hoping that the new upgrade will far exceed our expectations, ...........next Tuesday :D

vaio...

i am currently using a sony vaio s series. it's a great computer, with one major glaring flaw... Windows XP!

I saw a vaio lap top with a 400 GB hard drive.... I hope APPLE saw it too!

Is there a lap top that can hold more than 2GBs ram?.. I hope the new MBP does

cheers

that vaio was probably heavy as hell, too. i'm sure the new macbooks will be able to hold 3 gb ram, the imacs can, and the macbooks are pretty much the same

wow, amazon's low too. interesting.

i would be so pumped if they released it tomorrow along with the red nano. i know that's not apple's m.o., but hey i can dream.

yes there is the DELL XPS M2010 that has a core 2 duo running at 2ghz, 2.16ghz and 2.33ghz and will hold 4gb ram and has the ATI Radeon mobility X1800 with 256mb vram and a 20" screen.

it almost looks like a desktop in a way. but its over $4 grand and its a dell. it makes me want the C2D MBP even more

so i was being bad again...looking at other brands and what they're offering...and while i would never buy anything they offer i am starting to find it ridiculous that apple has yet to update the MBP...

Dont get me wrong, i love apple and will wait as long it takes to buy a mbp mainly for the OS, but hardware wise i seriously wish they were more competitive...and if not, here's an idea, drop the price!

I configured a gateway to a C2D 17'' 2.16ghz with 2 gigs of ram and other specs either similar to apple or better and it came out to less then $2,050!! without tax and shipping of course, but thats still MUCH CHEAPER then apple...i could almost buy a MINI with the difference in cost...for a BETTER (at least in terms of hardware, NOT software) machine!

...ridiculous

CDW says call for availability on the 2.16 15", the others say in stock.

(though i think i read this earlier or on a different thread)

After seen these I thought I would try the place that I brought my Cube from, but they have no stock on the website well 99days to get some means to me that they have none.

http://www.macwarehouse.co.uk/catalogue/computers%20%26%20laptops/Apple%20Mac/Laptop%20-%20Apple?sort=&start=1&size=15

When I called they said apple was not providing them with the computers to sell, something to do with a manufacturing problem, maybe a changeover of production :) , or it could mean that they can not produce the existing ones for another reason and there is no new model comming :(

I am hoping for the release now to be in the next 2 weeks.
