After countless hours of discordant noises, jangling shouts, echoes, and howls, whimpers of pain, and the sheer shaming guilty intoxicating rush of pleasure of bloodlust - my ears crave the soothing sound of Elven Esoterick High Barockque Operatick Tradition; had I thought to add my triple keyed Elven flute to my saddlebags, I could have sought refuge in sweet sounds…..rather than the raucous coarse shouts of barked laughter and sworn curses , and unfettered sadismin Goblindegook, enlivened and inspired by wanton and despicable cruelty.

The EEHBO Trio Plus One are one of my favorite groups! Heard them ages ago in Mithral Hall in a solo performance.

i can help with that.
Veit casts on wisdom, so it is +3, and he is a Dsciple of Lfe, which is +2+spell level, so another +3.
total 2+3+3=8 hp back

can Saildar move? can we improvise a clutch out of stuff/furniture in the room? Claus is proficient in carpentry, i believe, and we have Veit's handaxes
>>> Thanks man.

As the party recovers their equipment, Sildar Hallwinter slowly came to. Looking down at the smooth stump where his leg was, Sildar says nothing.

Bartholomeus looks around the room. You see nothing that could be of much use, unfortunately.

"Leave... leave me here," Sildar says groggily. "I am -- I am a burden."

Ah, yes, one of mine, too, as it happens….but then, this was the culture I was exposed to from early youth.

Clearly, sir, you are a gentleman of rare refinement and exquisite musical taste…..I am - rather reluctantly - somewhat impressed.

>Ser Sildar, are you in condition to use a bow? A blade?
* helps Sildar to a defensive position on the ledge, gets him a shortbow and arrows, plus a scimitar and shield and piles all remaining weaponry that are laying around in the back of the higher chamber, behind Sildar, then offers him some water and food.

>there.
Wait for us here on the ledge. You should be safe for a while.

We will be back as soon as we can and take you out, and back to phandalin.

Meanwhile, do you have any information for us? What else can we expect here?
What happened to gundren?

"Thank you, kind sir. Klarg had orders from the Black Spider to waylay Gundren --" he looks at your questioning face "-- unfortunately I do not know who nor what the Black Spider is. I, however, believe that the Black Spider is after the map that Gundren is carrying -- the map to Wave Echo Cave. Unfortunately the goblins have taken the map. Klarg had the map and Gundren himself sent to the goblin castle -- the Cragmaw Castle they called it."

Sildar shook his head, "before you ask, I unfortunately do not know where Cragmaw Castle is. I am in hopes that someone in Phandalin would know. I am also in hope of finding a fellow member of the Lords' Alliance by the name of Iarno Albrek. He travelled to the town two months ago with the goal of establishing order. We lost contact with Ser Albrek however, and he disappeared shortly afterwards. He may have more information that will aid in finding Gundren and the map, and expand on the identity of the Black Spider."

Sildar Hallwinter looks at you, "beware those goblins, they are not to be trusted. Never let them leave the sight of your eyes, and be ready for a betrayal."

I'm going on a short trip so Pluto, please guide Veit along the next couple of days. Thanks!

Would be awesome if you could keep the thoughtful but snarky character which makes him the fan-fav of the party that he is and adds a layer of deeply philosophical existentialism while also providing some smart but witty remarks which reflect upon the world of fantasy and misery we are living in.

thx :)

so basically stay the "see-goblin-smash-goblin" course? :p

Before I forget it: Pluto, some do's and don'ts

- don't smoke all of the tobacco!
- don't throw any coins around! (better grab em yourself)
- certainly don't buy any fancy stuff for claus!
- when Veit was saying he'd invite the whole party on a mug or two he meant that metaphorical
- do kick ass!

[doublepost=1458850260][/doublepost]@ravenvii, orders: Follow the goblins to Klarg while keeping an eye on the two goblins.

Question: Are both goblins leading us (i.e. are they in front) ?

...reprise...

as we are getting ready to follow Wartgutter, i sheath my greataxe and recover the javelin and the shield, then don the shield and take out the scimitar, which i hold in front of me (it should still have light on it)

then to the leader goblin
>let's go, Screech
so now that we are business partners, tell me more about your friend Klarg. nice fellow?

if we are moving, me and Veit should be in front, since we have the highest AC (and Veit has run out of spell slots, so his max value right now is as a fellow tank)
so Wartgutter is in front,
me and Screech next and Veit to follow, then the rest?

wartgutter is ahead, the other one I would strongly "invite" to walk next to me, which makes sense so neither is behind the other one

in dwarvish:
>syllin, keep an ear on what they say in goblin, just in case

The party begins to move. Though the leader said he'd walk from behind, Bartholomeus tried to persuade the goblin to walk alongside him, behind Wartgutter.

*** CHECK ***
The goblin is very wary, but greed has taken over his motives, so he is somewhat easier to convince. I'll call this a DC 10.

Bartholomeus: 6
*** CHECK ***

"I stay. You walk with. I not walk with," the leader snaps with mistrust.

>>> @Don't panic do you walk behind the party with the goblin, or remain in the front behind Wartgutter?

@ravenvii, I'll walk in the second rank.

Portia (@Moyank24) "Goblin Slayer" should probably be next to me in the second rank, Syllin (@Scepticalscribe) in the third rank, and the Count and goblin leader in the rear.

Say to Veit (@twietee), could you please move the light from the Count's sword to my sword (Note - The count should have plenty of light from my sword to see the goblin)

That sounds perfectly reasonable.

I suspect that the goblins may trust each other ben less than they trust us - or, than we should trust them.

Elven senses to the ready, eyes and ears open, I stand ready.

I assume that poor Sildar Hallwinter awaits us, there, or now, until we have attended to the next business of the day. Fortunately, Master Veit's many impressive medical and healing skills have alleviated and eased as much of his physical pain as is possible for now, as his distress must be considerable.

Bartholomeus joins the leader goblin in the rear of the group as the party begins the brief return journey to the bridge.

"Klarg no nice. Klarg stupid. Beat goblins. Goblins sick of Klarg," the goblin responds to Bartholomeus' inquiry.

The party crosses the bridge and enters the eastern passage. Wartgutter suddenly stopped, seeing the bodies of the three slain goblins. Looking back with a mix of fear and hatred. Tightening his grip on the scimitar, Wartgutter made to turn and face the party, but a snarl in goblin from the leader made him stop. After a moment of defiant hesitation, Wartgutter turned with a disgusted spit, and continued.

The party exits the passage into a large chamber.

This cavern is half filled with two large pools of water, one of which is emptied. A narrow waterfall high in the eastern wall feeds the pool, which drains out the western end of the chamber to form the stream that flows out of the cave mouth below. Low fieldstone walls serve as dams holding the water in. The first dam has been destroyed. A wide exit stands to the south, while two smaller passages lead west. The sound of the waterfall echoes through the cavern, making it difficult to hear.

The party came out of one of the western passages, and you can see that the other western passage leads down a series of natural steps into a larger passage, and you can see the stream flowing through the far half of the large passage. The first pool must have been emptied to form the flood earlier.

Wartgutter did not stop; he continued through the chamber and turned to enter the large exit to the south. When the party catches up, they see that there are a series of large steps that lead up into a large, circular chamber.

Sacks and crates of looted provisions are piled up in the south end of this large cave. To the west, the floor slopes toward a narrow opening that descends into darkness. A larger opening leads north down a set of natural stone steps, the roar of falling water echoing from beyond. In the middle of the cavern, the coals of a large fire smolder.

And in this chamber, you see two goblins standing at either ends of the chamber, a mangy wolf resting near the fire.

And what must be Klarg himself, a hulking, mangy beast that looks like a mixture of a bear and a goblin. A bugbear.

"Klarg does not like interruptions! Klarg will crush your bones and feed you to --" Klarg roars as Wartgutter enters the chamber. Then he sees who is following the goblin. "Prisoners for Klarg?! Excellent! Klarg will make a throne out of your bones, puny ones!" Klarg roars.
