Ugh, been on the phone with Dell trying to get a price match. Their customer support is atrocious.

Ryan,

I ordered on-line and got the $525, plus $25 off shipping. They did charge me tax though! Total was $561.74.

I was disconnected twice, put on hold for over an hour, and never talked to anyone who could help me with a price guarantee. Apparently these were purchased under "small business" (I don't know why) and none of the normal Dell support people can help you. The online chat sessions also don't work.

Useless support and a waste of my time. But for $350 I want a damn price match. I'll send these back and buy new ones.

The screen you talk about it's from the previous serie of dell 4k screens. More professional than the series that we are talking about (p2415q and p2715q) but MST and not SST 4k 60hz screens, so with more compatibility issues to get the full resolution at this refresh (like the UP2414Q that we mentioned previously).
Very good screen but with older technology, I guess...

I don't see these displays listed by Apple as supported.

yeah if you bought it at first launch, technically you bought it under small business which the regular consumer department cannot help you cause your file is not under their jurisdiction or some bs like that, which is fine by me cause their small business department sucks just as much as their consumer department lol

...And you probably won't. That page was put up early on, and as far as I can tell, the last update only added a note about half-baked support for the LG DCI 4K display. The market is about to be flooded with 4K/UHD choices, if it isn't already. Apple has no reason to test and validate every single one, just as they don't with 1440 and 1080 monitors. The newer Dells work just fine SST at 60 Hz. with the proper hardware and drivers. That's not to say there aren't some quirks and speed bumps here and there, but that's what you often get as an early adopter.

Thanks for the heads up! Wasn't planning on getting a third but at this price, this is a no-brainer.

Currently on the line with Dell to try to get reimbursed the difference for my past orders. Unfortunately, one was purchased on 12/2 and the other 12/20. Hopefully they will honor the 12/20 order and if they are "nice" they will do the 12/2 order.

I ordered this on 12/31 at the regular price - highly doubtful they'd be able to price match for me right?

Dells own website says 30 day price guarantee... I'm trying again tomorrow to get through to someone in customer service.

Dell honored the price match for my 12/20 order since it is within the 30 day price guarantee window - that was a close one! But my 12/2 order, they said they could not do it!

I was on hold for almost an hour between 3 different customer service agents. It's like they try to torture you to the point of hanging up in frustration.

What a great deal, also picked up the 27" for $568 with two day shipping. Great investment when you use a monitor for several hours a day, so much less eyestrain and fatigue, worth every penny.

no problem guys, glad i can help out, enjoy your new monitors, i got two of them myself, one for mac and one for pc, scaling on the mac is much better, can't wait til windows 10 comes out so they can hopefully fix the scaling issues.

I finally got someone on the phone that said they can price guarantee $100 off per-monitor, not the full $175 at the current price. Oh well. I've been on the phone with Dell for hours at this point, I'll take the $200 and run!

I just used the US Customer Service chat and they refunded $80.00 for me on the 24-inch model.

Also, the monitor came today and WOW! Great quality. Running it off my rMBP 15-inch Iris Pro only, 60 Hz at the "best for display" option. Great stand it comes with too.

I was given ~$100 back as well since I bought it for $629. You should have received the full $175 if you bought it for $699.

Sitting on the phone with these cats is torture.

So my account was flagged as "small business", so I got stuck on some other line than the usual home line.

The guy I talked to was only authorized to give me $100 per monitor back, not the $175.

He said I could "try another department", but I give up. $150 would be nice but I was literally on the phone for two hours with Dell. My time is valuable too!

I do have an e-mail into support as well, I'll inquire with them too.

Awful phone support.

I just got a $100 refund as well, had to call in though because i bought through EPP. So in the end I paid only $294 for the 27", as I had $200 in Dell gift cards too. Pretty slick deal in the end!

No Sound P2715Q - AC511

Just received and hooked up a P2715Q to my (late 2013) MacPro. It looks great so far. Driving it via the Dell provided mDP to DP port on the monitor.

Unfortunately, I cannot get sound to come through the attached Dell AC511 sound bar.
The usb cable from the sound bar is plugged into the rear usb port located on the rear of (not under) the monitor. The side white light indicator on the AC511 is lit.
On the MAC, in SysPref/Sound, output is selected to the P2715Q Display Port.

Also, I am not receiving any USB signal coming through the usb internal hub. I plug a flash drive in under the monitor, nothing.

I see others have this working, any suggestions welcome.

**UPDATE: USB Hub and SoundBar are now working. Dell provided a replacement USB cable and after re-booting everything the USB hub responded.
To get the sound bar going I went into system preferences, sound, and in the OUTPUT tab, selected the Dell AC511. Than fixed it.

Just got mine from B&P Photo, works great with my nMP (D700/32GB) along with my Apple 30" Cinema Display.

Very pleased with it, and seeing the current deal at Dell I've ordered another one from them, which will replace the Cinema Display.

swap the usb header cable. use a old printing usb cable and it will work. thats what i had problem with.

Is everyone using the default Dell display profile, using the Apple RGB, or calibrating their own? So far I have been using the default Dell one, but when using for a few hours and going to my iPhone, its clear this profile must be very soft.
