I'm going to see what Dell says tomorrow. If it's delayed an appreciable amount of time I may just get a pair of LG 27UN880-B 27" instead, for about the same price.
Just got a notice that Dell confirms my order is dealyed, with a new delivery date of April 28. If they delay it again I’lll cancel and get the LGs. I can’t really start chasing delays.

What’s the early issue your referring to?

I did get a new order but it was a00. It was in Europe.

I have three 12 year old Dell displays, 24" can't recall the model, they are 1080p. They are Rev A00. When I got them, there was a similar thread about revisions and problems... But I did not see any of the issues in my displays that were discussed back then. All three displays to this days are working fine, for the last 12 years and have more than paid off for their cost. The marked revision is nothing but a mark, and it doesn't mean that the A00 is worse than the A001 or vice versa. Surely something was changed between revisions, though....

after watching a handful of vids on youtube, what is the light bleed in the lower left corner, is it major or just minor thing?

Cameras are exaggerating it. I have zero light bleed in my Rev A00 panel that I can see with my eyes. I wanted to show it with a video, but when I tried to record it I decided not to, it was showing in the video EXACTLY as those videos that are there online, showing all 4 corners super hot and as if there was terrible back light bleed. So that is when I learned that what I see is not what is shown on the camera. My display is perfect to my eyes, but if I recorded it with camera, you would see all the imperfections outlined already in videos online.

If you're talking about the 2408WFP, that one had major input lag issues on the A00 and a couple of small nitpicks on the panel itself. Dell acknowledged it and reduced the lag a little bit on the A01. For regular use, it was tolerable. But for any gaming, it was a strict no no.

Has anyone here used the LG 32UN880-B Ergo 4K monitor?

I can get it locally for about the same price as the Dell U2723QE I have on order, and if Dell delays shipping it again I plan to cancel the order and get something else. I'll be using two of them side by side in either case.

I'm a software engineer and that's what I plan to use these for. I'm not doing any photo/video work, not will I use to play games or videos. I am older and winding down my career towards retirement within the next year. I can see OK with corrected vision, but my eyes aren't as sharp as when I was younger. Thoughts?

I have not used the LG, but I just recently upgraded from a 27" 4K to 32" 4K, and I couldn't be happier - text legibility is so much better, and bigger. I do not see the pixels. My monitor is positioned at 85-90cm from my eyes, and I am using native full 4K or scaled resolution depending on the work at hand. 32" makes a big difference in my situation.

I am also a software engineer, and I just started to correct my vision for computer use. I am 51, and I have a progressive prescription of -1.00 and +0.75. Have not worn glasses for computer use up until now, I just ordered a pair of what the doc prescribed, a -0.5 for computer use only.

Thanks. I'm giving this some thought. I also use dark mode for my development toolchain (Jetbrains IntelliJ IDEA and Terminal mostly, and github in Chrome browser). I'm thinking about just switching gears and getting the LG monitors tomorrow for my 14" M1 Max MBP.

Well, believe it or not, dark mode actually makes your vision worse, especially for people with prescription. Search it and you will find multiple editorials on the subject. What happens is your pupil dilates in dark mode, and your eyes actually focus worse than in light mode. And while using a light mode, your pupil constrict and focus better. I have given up on using dark mode, and especially terminals with white text on black.

Thanks for the info. I might try a change. I originally started using dark mode because of eye fatigue and it seemed to help. Maybe with a better monitor it will be time to revisit that.

I'll be surprised if you get it before May. I ordered two U2723QE on April 1st and my ship date is May 10. Canada.

I originally had two of the 32" variants on order but I switched after I realized I didn't want to be swinging my neck around when sitting 30" away.
