Just a note. Based on a recommendation on these forums I bought the 4 port Anker for travel. We usually have two phones, two iPads and sometimes my old iPod, my Fitbit, and Bluetooth headphones. I keep it and a set of cables (actually two sets, each has a lightning, miniUSB and a 30-pin connected to a USB. In my travel gear so I never forget it. Since my husband used to always forget his chargers now he's covered too. And not having to search a hotel room for 5 different electrical outlets is sooooo nice. Really got tired of crawling around on the floors to reach the lamp plug!

I love it so much I bought the 5 port for home. I also got a stand and now I can charge everything in one spot. Anker makes great products.

What stand ?

I saw that recently too. If you check it now it will say 2m. I will buy another one later but I don't think many people will need more than one unless they break as easy as the lightning cables do. Which I doubt if your using any kind of stand with it. I bought the Spigen stand for $20 on Amazon. The stand will hold the end piece in place so it never needs to move and this is where the lightning cables always fail/break from constant twisting and movement. If your only charging it once every night at home theres no need for more than one for now. Especially while Apple is giving you a $40 cable in the box. iPhones only get a $20 cable ;)

On the contrary. It's not about breakage but more about convenience and practicality. I like to have one cable plugged in at home permanently and another in my bag for use at work or when traveling. What I haven't done and I need to do is buy one of those Anker multiple USB chargers for even more convenience.

This one:

And this is the cable I bought to go in the stand. Cuts down on clutter a lot. I will say the 4 plug Anker works better in the stand but I need 5 devices so I have the 5 plug for the stand right now. I'm thinking about switching to the 4 plug for the stand and taking the 5 plug on trips.

Just like you I bought a extra cable on the 10th with a 7-10 day delivery time frame. I like to have one permanently at home and another in the car and for travel.

I bought two of the 5 port USB anker chargers like you mentioned. One for each nightstand. I bought my future wife a SS 38mm AW with modern buckle as a upcoming wedding gift. Anyways, just thinking about it,as we go to bed we'll each have a iphone, ipad, beats wireless headphones and a apple watch to charge.

So I'll drill a small whole through the bottom side of each night stand drawer and put the 5 port anker inside the drawer. That way we can charge every device nightly, but wont see all the cables. I also bought Some brown Felt that I'll put in the whole drawer first. That way it's soft for all of our devices in the drawer

Thanks for the recommendation- I work as a consultant and travel a lot. Very helpful. Looks like I'm going to be abusing my prime membership even more ;)

We have the 5 port and love it for travel. We also have one of these nightstands that plugs into the wall and has four plugs in the top drawer. I love it!!

I purchased two extra cables - a one meter and a two meter. I'm probably going to use the two meter for charging the watch on my nightstand. I'll keep one at the office, and in the car.

I don't buy it. If I need to charge it twice a day. Apple watch is definitely a failure.

This. Unless you are someone planning on playing with the watch all day. Or getting constant notifications. I don't see the reason for needing a second charger.

Based on the reviews so far, I can't imagine many times where I will really need a charger anywhere other than my bedside. And if I'm going on a trip, I'll just use that.

For now, of course. I'm sure eventually I'll just want to buy a second for the minor convenience.

It doesn't hurt to have another in the car or at your job

Both mashable & the verge claim that one day out of the week the watch did not make it till 7pm

So is possible

This is like saying I don't need another lightning cable my iPhone last all day

But I'm willing to bet you have more than one ?

Interesting, thanks! That would save me from carrying cables and wall charges like what I carry now-

This plug is a great example of why the U.S. (And the rest of the world!) needs to adopt the UK a style mains plug! :D

I didn't even think of that till now

And I have like 5 lightning cables for backup & to charge iphone in different places

Yes, I did. But I made it a separate order because I didn't want to take a chance that a charge cable delay could hold up my watch order. But it looks like it's shipping pretty quickly (shows "Delivers April 23 - April 28 by standard delivery").

I haven't ordered one yet. I think I'll wait until I have the watch in my hands. I'm hoping I won't have to charge my :apple: Watch too often. I'm expecting it to last a whole day and then just get home and put it to charge before I go to bed. If it doesn't last long enough, I might return it. I'm okay with having to charge my iPhone once or twice during the day, but a Watch is not the kind of device that I want to be charging throughout the day.

I bought an extra 2m cable before I noticed Apple had changed the pack-in cable from 1m to 2m! Why did they do that? Oh well... I'll find a place for the extra 2m and get a 1m later.
