For those of you living in Europe ...
Yesterday at around 13:30 AST the first posts came in of shipment delays for shipments that were due to ship on the 7th.
Are there any Europeans out there that have a delivery date of the 8th. receiving notifcations of delays in their shipments ??

My delay is like all others Nov 9 - 14th.
I called Apple today, got them to upgrade to expedited shipping. I'm going to be out of the country anyway, so I'm hosed.
I didn't push for the 50 bucks like others. Not sure why.
But was happy to get the faster shipping just so I can have some hope the new Mac is waiting for me when I return home...

My order status is still showing a Nov. 8th ship date. I have not received an email to the contrary. However, I'm sure a delay email is expected later today.
I kind of expect one as well but don't you think our European friends would have received the dreadful email by now ? I hope that yes, they will ship out on the ninth in Shanghai (which is right now). Trying to keep positive

Just got the bad news via order status. Theres been no email yet. I ordered on the 25th Oct and my shipping status has been changed from delivery by 15th Nov to delivery by 01 Dec. Thats more than a 2 week delay!

Ugh, so I just changed my order from a 160GB@5400rpm to a 100GB@7200rpm because I need every little bit of speed I can get.. but now my MBP won't ship until the 20th!!! Grrr...
What's even more annoying is that my school also has ordered MBP's more than a month ago (before Core 2 Duo's were announced). When the Core 2 Duo's were announced Apple said they'd ship those to us instead of the Core Duo. We didn't know it'd take them this long to even begin production (if it's even started..) So now everytime a teacher says "hopefully we'll get them in a few days" all of us laugh.

Not to get excited, but Awesome! my computer isn't delayed yet! I ordered on the 24th and it still says it's shipping today. HAHa... doubt that but still. Pretty cool that it started off shipping on the 7th but now it is the 8th. I can live with that small of a change. As long as I get it by the 16th like it said...

I just got the same email. I am moving out of state on the 22nd. I might have to cancel altogether if Apple is going to be unsure about shipping dates.

My brother in law is flying on the 14th. to Trinidad to sail with us for three weeks. He was to take the 17" with him. Now that's out of the question. Try explaining this to a rep. Very apologetic not offering ANY information until you push a bit. "Some" are backordered (ha ha) When I told him ALL were backordered he said yes they told him a part was not delivered on time. "No, I don't know which part but please let me find out for you" Three minutes later after being on hold he mentioned he could not get a hold of anyone at the factory (yeah right). BUT it will DEFINATELY before the 15th. So here you have it. I will wait till Friday and see if any are shipped, if not I am forced to cancel which in turn will speed up someone else's order.

I am going to wait until the next deadline and if it doesn't ship on the 15th I will have to cancel my order. I might end up getting a Dell XPS or something otherwise. I wanted the MacBook Pro so I could dual boot but I need it soon and will go elsewhere if they can't deliver.Delayed Also
I just got the notice also. Same shipping dates. If you push the customer service rep they will offer the $50 credit. If you escalate it to a supervisor it's $100. So everyone should be able to get at least $50 for their trouble and 2 day shipping.

So i could order a new macbook that just came out today for half the price and still get it before my 17" pro that i ordered 2 weeks ago? That seems kind of wrong doesn't it...

I ordered mine within the first 15 minutes of availability and I got promised yesterday that it would ship by today. I called and complained long enough for 75$. With the edu discount that's not to shabby. They offered a case and 50$ without much prodding so hang in there.
