Obviously you're not a golfer.
so they ship on saturdays, that's for sure.

just to add some more info, now my 15" is showing it is in Indianapolis as of 1AM this morning (saturday the 11th)

not sure if it is going to move at all or sit still until Monday AM. my suspicion is its going to keep moving. but i think that the "shipping on saturdays" applies only/mostly to stuff that is already in transit.

the logistics/process of fedex is fascinating. is there a documentary out there about how they do it? (Cast Away does not count)

I wonder if I can get Apple to throw in a free bag to make up for the delay I'm sure I'll be notified about on Tuesday when my MBP is supposed to be shipped?'
Otherwise I'll just try to get the discount like everybody else (can't get free 2-day shipping as I'm in Europe - we don't have any choices in regards to shipping).

just to add some more info...

thanks :)

also - it's kind of funny.. i had ordered a second magsafe adapter. so of course i've had the adapter sitting next to a (non-magsafe) powerbook, depressing me for the past 3 weeks, because it delivered right away.

and i got excited, so i ordered an OEM Win XP Pro disc. of course that arrived like 4 days after as well. and i've got a sleeve and two bags that have been ready for the past week (and two weeks for one of them).

oh - and i got the dvi-svideo+composite from apple. of course, another two weeks since that day.. same with a second apple remote, to keep with the bag (on EDU discount :D) haha..

i've got all i need to have a great mbp life, but no mbp :p

Parallels vs Boot Camp
Quicker to load - Quicker to run
More stable - Works with more (iSight etc)

These are the sort of things i am thinking

But i cant wait to get my Macbook Pro, like everyone I have by bag, i have sold my Powermac, i just hope it ships on 13th or 14th, and then i might have it by the end of the week.

Well, called Apple and they offered me the two day express shipping. The 17" is supposed to ship out on the 14th. We shall see! What bags are everyone looking at? I'll need one.

i'm sure i can get the isight working easily. i'll wait till i get the machine though, i've already done too much before even getting the damned machine :p

as for stability - pfff, i only need windows for testing web designs and doing msn videochats with relatives. :)

just got off the phone with apple. the fellow was conflicted, stuck between his job (lying) and the truth. but the end result: he has no idea whether they'll follow through on these new (delayed) dates or not. hooray for irritating secrecy.

I chose the Brenthaven Pro 17" shoulder bag based on positive reviews and information on their web site. The Apple Stores near me don't carry this on the floor, so I hope I made the right choice.

It fits the 17" perfectly. I've had one since Mar. '05 for my PBG4 17", and it will be the home of my new MBP C2D - when it finally gets here.

my bags..

-Incase Neoprene sleeve

-Incase Neoprene shoulder bag

-Targus 17 Deluxe Leather Notebook Case [TLE400]

>>> it's on the bulky side, but I do a lot of traveling and use a lot of gadgets, depending on when you catch me.. so I'll be using this when the Neoprene shoulder bag doesn't cut it. Inside this one, the neoprene sleeve'll hold the MBP.
