Apple Invoice

OK, here's the deal. I just received an "Apple Invoice" email telling me they had charged my credit card the amount of the shipping.

Last week my original "Pending" charges expired. Now I have new pending charges for both the 17" and the shipping. Also last week for a while I could not cancel the order and then for a few days again I could. Now I can't cancel. (Good news as far as I'm concerned!)

Maybe we really will get these machines this week. I hope so!

Apple told me they will not re-authorize cards, they will just charge?

They also told me today, that mine was in production and could ship tomorrow or Tues. at the latest. We'll see, they told me this on Nov. 2 or 3rd, when my original ship date was Nov. 7th.

I've actually lost that x-mas morning excitement I had last week.

Last time I was told this it was for the 9th.

Well not to bring anyone down but I just checked my card and the authorzation from Apple has not returned I still show my full available credit (Ordered on the 24th).

They did credit my card for the refund for my free shipping though. It's strange that we're getting all these mixed messages with some people showing authorizations and others not. Oh well, I hope at least someone's 17" ships this week that would be a good sign.

If they don't re-authorize cards then this is great news, because as I mentioned my card was authorized back on the 26th, and then it expired a few days later, and this morning when I got up the cost of the MBP is missing from my available funds. Keep your fingers crossed, it is looking promising.

Weird. So you got a charge for shipping but not for the laptop according to an email at least. Now you say the CC was charged for both. Does the charge actually show up on your statement or is it just an auth?

Both charges show up as "Pending". One charge for the shipping in the amount of the invoice I posted. The other charge which is the amount of the computer plus taxes is also pending.

CC Charged

I bought my MBP on a new Apple Credit Account. I just talked to them and he told me that I had a charge today from Apple for the amount of my computer + taxes. I asked if it might just be an authorization, but he confirmed it as a legit charge on my account...hope that we start seeing invoices from apple soon!!!

After reading that someone's 17" may be preparing for shipping, I called Apple to try to change the address it's sent to (I'm in CA but will be in AZ next week from the 14th to the 20th). I spoke with a nice agent who told me my 17" was preparing for shipping and she would try to change the shipping address by putting in a request, but that it may be too late. If it ships to my home in CA, so be it. It does seem hopefull.

(I'm still waiting on Apple to send me my FCP Crossgrade discs, which they received Friday a week ago, but unlike their promise to post a disc shipping response in 48 hrs, all of last week passed and I'm waiting until tomorrow to call AGAIN and find out why they signed for my shipped discs but don't see them in the system. In the meantime, I have no way of loading FCP 5 onto my new 17" if I do get it. So much for trying to get your ducks in a row!)

I haven't check my CC yet, just getting into the whole Zen of this experience.

When did you place your order?

Also, I spoke to an Apple rep to ask if I could make any changes to my order. They said that the machine is "in production" and so I couldn't make any changes.

Maybe there's hope after all! :D

Merge in Transit GB???

Has anyone else in the UK ordered other items alongside their MBP??? I just found out that because I have done this, my order has a shipping method of 'Merge in Transit GB', which means that my order doesnt come straight to me. The MBP goes to some UK warehouse and is added to the rest of my order, before being sent on.

Im just wondering how much time this will add to the delivery time? Or is it a fairly quick turnaround?

Its annoying that the US customers get the rest of their order sent to them, where our extra items are used to delay our laptop further. So if you are in the US and are angry because you have your accessories, but no laptop, keep us poor Irish/brits in mind ...cos we (or I) have nothing, except for a further delay to look forward to!

You read my mind. An extremely pleasant rep. said it should be shipping by the 14th with a worst case delivery of the 17th. After putting me on hold, I was offered $50 back, and she then informed me that it should actually be shipping a little sooner than she had thought and may even arrive by Wednesday 15th. *fingers crossed*

I ordered an external HD with my MBP, and that was shipped on the 9th and arrived on the 10th (even though it was expected shipping the 14th and delivery the 20th like the MBP).
But according to the tracking the HD was already in Europe, so that might be the reason why they were sent separately? (shipped to Denmark by the way, not UK - but don't think there would be much of a difference there.)

I still have not received the delay email and my computer is supposed to be here tomorrow!!!!! So i called the apple store and he just gave me a generic response of " we apologise but your computer model has been delayed. You should expect it to ship within 3 - 5 days ". Not real happy at all

Still nothing concrete

This is all beginning to sound positive(ish) but we still haven't seen a single emailed notification of a 17" being shipped. Hopefully this will happen in the next couple of hours - it's only 7.15am in Shanghai.

Indeed it is... My earlier pessimism seems to have been unwarranted. I ordered mine at 7.45pm GMT (11.45am PST) on the 24th. I've still yet to see any action on my bank account and I can still cancel my order. Crossing fingers I wake up broke in the morning :D
