I've just come off the phone from Apple (UK) and the guy there says everything is on schedule and the 17" MBP is going to be shipped today!

Due shipping date today 13th Nov,
Due delivery date 23rd Nov.

Any thoughts?

My thought is Apple told me that twice and I got $50 for each time. You should do the same.

I phoned Apple this morning and said

"I had an email saying my MBP is shipping today, is it?"

They said "it will ship tomorrow" (which is what the online order status says)

I then asked if it was 100% it will ship tomorrow, they said they can't be sure.

When asking when i would get it they again just read the online order status date of 21st

APPLE ARE USELESS!!

I phoned Apple UK today too and was told that shipping is on for tomorrow (my updated shipping due date since it changed on the 7th). I asked them if they were sure and that I wasn't going to get another delay email at the last minute. I was assured that mine will ship tomorrow.

Here's hoping... :)

Did you ask for compensation?! Or did they offer it to you?!! Just wondering what level of anger I need to display on the phone to get somewhere with these people!

The first time I nonchalantly said "I hear you're giving $50 for the delays. Can I have it?" and I got it. The 2nd time was 2 days later after the girl from the first time assured me it'd ship on the 9th and I spoke to a manager who gave me another discount.

I was angry then, but didn't ask for another one.

Sarcastic post - read with salt nearby to pinch

GREAT!!!!

So it appears the Irish people working on the phones at Apple can read.

They did this to me too; read out what I had already read myself online. It wasn't until the guy said it was READY for shipping that I felt I was getting somewhere.

False Hope

I hope it is true and that Apple UK is being on the up and up. It seems odd for a company to build false hope and then dash it, but Apple has been doing just that. If nothing else I wish they would just say "We don't know, but when we find out we will tell you."

Oh well this graveyard shift ends in an hour, and I will go to sleep an optimist and more than likely awake a realist.

Cheers All,

My 2 cents:

Do not display any anger. Politely display some confusion about the situation and allow them to clarify your confusion. Then you can ask, "Is there anything we can do about the fact that it was delayed?"

Assuming they can help at that point, make them feel good for helping you--this will also make them far more likely to help other customers.

Then, if you still feel that you have some dissatisfaction that needs displaying, I think you should talk to them about passing that message higher up the chain. Remember that they are not directly responsible for your annoyance; they are a messenger who can get your voice heard.

I am real confused

Last week my expedite shipping of $ 18.00 was waived due to the delay.

Today I get an invoice (at least it says it's an invoice and not a debit memo) that my cc is charged for $ 19.26 for FedEx.

Anyone has the same happening today or is this a standard email they send out when freight is waived ??

I guess another call won't hurt.
