Wow, talk about extortion. They already offered you £50, and you're getting what you paid for. The fact that they can't foresee production problems doesn't mean you should get free stuff. It's a f**king computer for god's sake. Get over it.

It's not just a computer, its an Apple Mac, its like saying a Super car is just a car.

It is also my Hobby, my life, my work, my job, may career, my future

I really need it ASAP!

i dont mean want! i MEAN i NEED it!

Cut the fanboy nonsense, it IS just a computer. Say it with me "it is JUST a computer" If you NEED it, you should have gotten a CD 17" MBP to hold you over or a different machine. But it IS just a computer. I ordered a 17" MBP, but had to go to a 15" with the same specs because I NEEDED it (and because I saved a little money and got it for under $2k) and I got it today. I would have gotten a 17" CD MBP if I didn't already have one that I sold a while back.

Have any glossies shipped?

if they'd said it made a difference, i would've gone matte. it isn't like i cared that much, i just figured since i was getting the big hd i might as well get this too.

anyway. i called apple this morning, they offered $50, but had to retract it since i'm purchasing via adc. however, when they retracted it, the guy i talked to (eugene, seemed really nice) did say he had the ability to expedite it, and would be doing so. it's just as well. the latest (current) day for delivery is friday the 17th, and that's the last day i'll be in town before i leave for the holidays.

if it doesn't work out tomorrow, then i will be calling them and inquiring how they plan on keeping me from cancelling. i can fn wait til my current computer dies.

Just got the delayed e-mail ordered 24th October. Were really getting screwed around in Europe.

But it was nice of them to include some text in the e-mail this time, last time they were so busy they must have just forgotten to type the letter.

Mac at home is on its last legs hope it doesn't give up on me.

I'm tired of getting so frustrated over this, :( cant be good for ones health. If i get sick i'm sending Apple the doctors bill.

Imagine if you lost your job and you couldn't afford medication, food, rent, etc. Now THAT would be frustrating. Let's have some perspective here people...waiting for your $3,000 computer to arrive HARDLY qualifies as frustrating in the grand scheme of things.

I don't see a problem with Apple making less profit for these delayed shipments. I guess it must have hurt to have changed your order for a 15" only to see 17" models start shipping. Especially when people getting 17" MBPs have haggled some good savings too.

....I'm pretty sure there was some humour involved in post 1051 btw ;)

Anyone has a glossy 17" on the way ?. Is that why I was not included today ?

I have the glossy on the way, but my shipped MacBook Pro still shows, "Package data transmitted to FedEx" for my FedEx status.... Last time I got a MBP the FedEx tracking didn't update until AFTER I got the machine... So, I'm hoping all is OK.

I ordered Aperture and iWork last night and it shipped today too! So far, so good...

I got a 25% discount on mine, they wouldn't give me more money off if the FedEx truck hit me in my driveway after Apple was 3 months late delivering my 17" MBP...so no loss there.

25%? Good on you, and it's strange you're complaining about people getting a measly $50-100 off

To everyone waiting, the updates do not happen in real time at all on the webpage. I just got my 15" on Friday, but for awhile I was convinced it had been sitting in China for two days until it finally updating as being in Indiana. So don't panic. For reference, here is my tracking info, noting that I did NOT have express shipping:

Obviously you're not a golfer.
i second what dave said above; their tracking is fast, but not in realtime. when my 15" machine was delivered today, my cell phone got the "its delivered" email a full 30 minutes before the tracking page reflected it.

If you look back at his recent post history and his general attitude, you can see he is just projecting his anger. I'm not sure if he has Mommy issues or just likes to stir the pot, but either way he comes off as a pompous, self-righteous a** to me.

And how fun it is...just stirring the pot btw.

It's the "milk em for everything they got" attitude that I can't stand.
