i just called fedex to confirm..

they said that apple barel missed the cut-off time, and that they will definitely be departing shanghai tomorrow.

predictable, yes, but i wanted to comfort myself (and some of you perhaps) :)

Hey, did you notice in the tracking details of the 15" ers, where Cdn. shipments go after Alaska? I saw one travel to the States and back before it was delivered.

yes, i did notice that.. so i asked.. and fedex told me that they ship a whole bunch of mbps in one crate and drop it at a warehouse here.. where they split it up and deliver the singles from there. she said that they don't disclose the warehouse location - even whether it's in Canada or the States.

so that was either a fedex-error or a warehouse :)

The word from my store is "on their way" and "any day now". That's about as specific as I'll get from my source. I'm on their waiting list, so there can't really be a shipping notice - to me anyway.

Not to be pessimistic, but I was told "on their way" and "any day now" from my Apple Store for 2 weeks every day before I finally ordered my 15" 2.33 glossy. I have mine now while the stores still haven't seen a single one. Hopefully the 17"ers will be different, especially as there is no "high end" 17". For whatever reason, Orlando only got 2.16 15", at least in glossy.

I was hearing same thing, too, but last week I actually heard a date (14th). I'm sure it's getting close.

A Smiling young lad (employee) at Apple store in walnut creek california.. told me that he knows 2 people that ordered the 17 inch on line... and that they received their orders.. I nearly fell on the ground.....

Then when I pressed him for details.... "Did you actually see the C2D 17 inch mythilogical LAP TOP.. .. The mother fluffing snuffa luffa gus of lap tops...?"

He recoiled and said "NO" i did not see it....

I turned down my intensity from a 12 to a 9 and said..."Are you sure they have shipped.. my dear BOY?" with a a sincere smile.. equivelant to a sharks as he circles a school of TUNA...

"well, NO.. I am not sure...BUT... BUT...... BUT...."

I interupted.. with a gentle and benevolent "ILOVEYOU"

Now I'm starting to wonder why they didn't ship out the week 45 machines (like mine) last week...

I'm certainly hoping that the issue was a short supply of batteries, user guides, or packaging, and not some kind of internal issue that they had to pop open these machines to rectify. Oh well, I guess that's what I get for being an "early adopter" ;)

Have just joined this forum and this is my first post! I will soon be a Mac user after ordering a 17" C2D MBP! Since it has taken approx 3 weeks for those that ordered 24/10 to get their's shipped, I wonder if it will be more/less or the same amount of time between ordering and shipping for those of us that didn't order straight away???

I ordered 2 weeks after release - 06/11 (Australia) and my order status is as follows:

MBPRO 17/2.33 CTO
Custom configured (glossy screen and USB modem)
Ships by: 15/11/2006 - 20/11/2006
Delivers by: 22/11/2006 - 27/11/2006

well guys, at least your stories arn't as bad as this one

i ordered an hour after they came out. origional shipping was the 7th and it was moved to the 14th, same old story.

i called today for the second time and was assured it would ship "before the 14th" and that i would be emailed updates as they happened.

after reading all of these new "omg omg omg *wets self*" posts i for the heck of it decided to check out good old apple.com manually again...

in large angry red letters: "your attention is needed"

yes... apple delayed shipment for so long, that my parent's cards (the only ones with a high enough limit) expired. so my case and apple care were charged, and 2 days ago my parents were issued new cards...

i follow the link to change card numbers only to be told "you are required to edit billing information by phone call blah blah blah"

its 11pm central... nobody is answering apple's phones

and i get to wait another day

yes, i registered JUST to vent this

I just received my shipping notice on the apple.com website!

I ordered on the 25th at around noon PST. I ordered a 17 inch MBP w/ a glossy screen. Everything else was stock.

So, looks like I should have it before I move, wahoo!

Another 17" on the way! Woo hoo!

Fed Ex data transmitted ... I'll be refreshing my web browser a lot tomorrow!

I've been waiting for one of these babies since early September, when the MBP C2D rumors were circulating. It's great that our patience has finally been rewarded!

I think when the package arrives at my door, I'll faint. :)

Shipped too!

Finally. Ordered 10:24 AM on the 24th with shipment on the 14th, China time. It should arrive the 16th. I'm traveling on business, so the 17th is fine with me. I'm test driving my new Crumpler messenger bag this week with my 15" Tibook. I wasn't sure I'd like it, but it's growing on me!
