No, mine is still somewhere between me and the Ottawa depot. The FedEx status still doesn't reflect the fact that it is in Ottawa, but the CSR swore that it is in Ottawa.

If I don't get it later today, it will definitely arrive on my doorstep tomorrow morning.

Are you around the GTA? If so, I would have thought that GTA customers would have already received delivery (unlike myself in Ottawa).

Gavin.

Just curious, didn't your MBP go thru Mississauga? Mine is still there according to FedEx tracking details.

My delivery status has changed from the 22nd to the 20th... Bet it there wasn't a dam weekend there we'd have it on Saturday or Sunday instead!

I found out why it is. Tnt deliver it to the Netherlands for sorting, then its sent to Flextronics Logistics Uk Daventry, they then pass it onto UPS to deliver it from Daventry to Dublin.

Seems like its going to take a lifetime.

This website appears to work for tracking.

Mines flights 'booked' but not left yet apparently.

17" MBP my thoughts

Hi all, got my 17 " MBP delivered at 830 PST at my work, unfortunately there was no one to receive it. Fortunately Fedex showed back up at 9:30 and i was there to pick it up. Since i worked late last night i was able to leave early today, so i have pretty much been getting to know my new MBP. after reading posts about displays, noise, heat, squeaky keys, misaligned lids, etc. i was hoping for the best and expecting the worse.
I am glad to say that this thing is the shizznik!
I have not had any issus with the MBP and i am more than pleased with the quality.
It is quieter than any notebook i've ever used, i have to stick my ear up to the chassis to hear anything at all.
No heat issues, its warm but definitly not hot.
As far as the LCD, well i haven't noticed any backlighting issues, maybe minor discrepencies if i really look hard.
And this thing is fast!
All in all i am extremely happy with the 17" MBP
Good luck to the rest awaiting delivery, its long and excruciating but it all gets better when you are holding that box in your grubby hands, lol.

OK, my macbook is in Alaska. . . I assume since it's FedEx it will go to <strike>Memphis</strike> Indianapolis next, then somewhere in California. If it's in Alaska today and Indy tonight, do I get it tomorrow or Friday?

Finished working for the day, so I called Fed Ex and found out that my 'book missed the flight out of China last night--"Package received after FedEx cutoff ". Translation: My 'book stayed at the bar too long and missed the final boarding call. Like father, like son.

enter your serial in the invoice you got from Apple
Thanks! Here's what I got:

Production year: 2006
Production week: 45 (November)
Production number: 733 (within this week)

It has left IND. I should have it tomorrow or Friday, at the latest. Although I'm on the road and won't get home until after midnight Thursday. Can't wait! I hope it is as perfect a machine as my 4 year old TiBook it will replace.

I ordered my 17" MBP on the 5th of November and when I read about the delay for the 17" MBP, I thought I had to wait for another 1-2 weeks. BUT, an hour ago I got the lovely "Your order has been shipped". *YIIIIIHA* :D

Just visited the US Apple store and noted that the ship time for standard 17" MBP has changed from "7 to 10 working days" to "5 to 7 working days". That would mean that a unit ordered today should ship no later than Nov 24 (Black Friday). That, applying Socratic logic, would mean that all of Apple's back orders will have shipped before Nov 24. Which in turn would suggest that we can have a funeral for this thread before the first of December.

For the benefit of any folks who ordered from Ontario...

This morning a FedEx CSR clearly told me (in much more detail than I could fabricate) that while the FedEx tracking page stated that my MBP still had a status of "International Release" in Mississauga, in reality there were 40 units in Ottawa that hadn't been scanned.

After talking to a CSR a few minutes ago, he basically said that he didn't know what this morning's CSR was smoking, and that the shipments were still in Mississauga, just like their tracking page says.

Gavin.

Does Leaving the fedex ramp mean that it's on a flight?

Kinda confused about this whole thing.

I've been in that boat!! It usually happens to me on holiday weekends for some reason.

I doubt you'll be able to grab it because it will probably be packed up in a truck waiting to come to you, but if you're really desperate you might be able to show them as many forms of ID as you can produce, and maybe a couple of utility bills to prove your address.

I've tried asking them to hold something at the facility before it even gets there in the hopes of being able to pick it up as soon as I'm available rather than wait all day for the truck and they won't do that either. Something about my address consistently makes me the last delivery of the day. In the winter UPS doesn't come here until after dark! (Rhode Island)
