i think it meams it's been ramped to ****!

you can't beat a ramp!
 
I called fedex and the rep told me that mine wouldnt be delivered till monday, but if it does enter my state(md) i can call them and they can tell me the location of the facility near me and I can pick it up. Im hoping to do this so i dont haveta wait till monday!

I just called Fedex and they said that my package was on its way to alaska apparently! If no customs issues arise I may have it tomorrow, but friday for sure.
 
I hate Apple.

So yesterday I talk to a lady who says, "Your MacBook Pro is being prepped for shipping." Yay!

Today I talk to a guy who says not only is it being prepped, but he's very sorry it has taken so long, it should have shipped last week, and upgraded my shipping to "Priority." He said it should be delivered by Friday and should go out today.

Tonight, having seen no progress on the shipping front, I call again, and get a much less helpful guy who says there is no sign of it being ready to ship, and that it SHOULD ship by the 20th. Maybe. If it's a full moon and I swing a dead cat over my head.

I hate Apple for making a product I get so neurotic over. Every time I get a new computer, i wear out the Order Status page in the process of waiting for it.

So, for those who ordered after Nov 3 and have gotten your shipping notification, congratulations. I can only assume it's because whatever country they are going to, they just bulk ship all the orders from the last 3 weeks or whatever into one big package and it's like Christmas (or whatever) for those folks. Or you have mob ties. Either way.

I couldn't get home until 5.
those were 7 ROUGH hours.

I'm transfering data over from my old tiBook as i type.

so many new toys to install on this.

Well I got mine. So far it seems pretty good, although my Core Duo MBP seemed a lot brighter, and I see an off color bar across the bottom of the screen. I looks almost like a strange reflection. I didn't see this on my other MBP. I will have to keep an eye on it and make sure it isn't a by product of a glossy reflection or something.

I'm just getting ready to install BootCamp. It is going to be a fun day. :)

As far as the LCD, well i haven't noticed any backlighting issues, maybe minor discrepencies if i really look hard.
And this thing is fast!
All in all i am extremely happy with the 17" MBP
Good luck to the rest awaiting delivery, its long and excruciating but it all gets better when you are holding that box in your grubby hands, lol.

I very much agree with you!!! Mines going via UPS-UK and thats the exact message Im getting. Its annoying that FedEx has such a great tracking system and we get the basics where it fobs you off with some generic status and it could mean anything.

Also my countdown changed from a big 9 days on my dashboard to 10 days. I swear I just suffered a deja vu!

However now its out of Apple's hands so I cant do much about it :(
 
Kinda bizarre that we track these things like this...with that being said, my 17" 'book has now left Alaska for points East! Muahaha.

Side note: Now that there are some Pre-N routers avaiable has anyone figured out how to activate the 802.11n cards in the 'books yet?

Dang! My status still shows "in transit" from Indianapolis at 4:49AM today...
I sure wish they updated their site faster. Apple says I should have it tomorrow despite FedEx's estimate of Friday. It shipped Monday! Dang they are slow sometimes. This is with "2-day" shipping. I think that really means, "Don't expect it 2-day"! At least I know it is on the way.
I have a ShieldZone Full Body Shield waiting here to be applied as soon as I can and Aperture 1.5 to install...!
 
If my package makes it to indianapolis by 11:45PM tonight, what are the chances it gets to me (in waterville, maine) tomorrow via fedex?

Slim to none. Sorry :( Mine got in Indianapolis by 11:30 Last Night and it wont be at my location probably by 10:30 tonight.

And Shipped hopefully will be shipped tomorrow. I am bringing my case and my software so I can get to work with it as soon as possible.

Mine was delivered at 8:45 this morning in Fairfax, VA.

Unfortunately I didn't get home until 7:15 PM and I've been carrying this thing around in my trunk all day.

Time to wolf down some food and then go play... :)

Anyone else in Europe got these dates? The wait is already unbearable :)

And the Uk Apple Store still shows 7-10 day shipping rather than 5-7 day in US Apple Store. Really unfair ;)

I'm at gate A-5 at San Jose International, waiting for my flight to LAX. I can see the FedEx MD11 that my macbook is on. But I can't hold it until Monday.

So close, and yet so far away.
