Nice, congrats!
And please come through on those pictures, would be great to see some more, I've only seen one MBP so far, I want more to keep me occupied until mine arrive. :)

That's basically what I'm getting as well except activity for mine didn't start until the 15th November. Still, it's nice to know that I at least have some sort of visibility to the order now since that's been lacking for many weeks now.

Shipped!

Mine shipped :D
It's a stock 17" with glossy screen. Ordered the 30th Oct. in Denmark. Estimated shipping date was first changed from the 13th to the 20th so its nice to get it a little earlier. Can't wait to get my first mac :)

Good to know that they have started shipping to Denmark as well. Did the Apple Order Status page update to show that it's been shipped, or did you just get an email?
I ordered mine 2 days later than you - but I hope it's on the same shipment :)

The status page has been updated too. Estimated delivery is the 25th.

My AppleCare arrived today via 1st class U.S. Mail so hopefully, the MBP that its for also arrives today.

Applecare doesn't need to be registered for at least 90 days after arrival, and you can wait until the end of the 1-year warranty to activate it. Your money buys you the same length of extended warranty either way.

I've never seen a package on a vehicle for delivery not get delivered that day.

Which clearly doesn't effect you since you got it 5 minutes after posting.

So I'll keep posting until I at least get a BLOODY SHIPPING NOTIFICATION.
(Please note: blood optional)

custom 17inch glossy with universal keyboard and english OS :) to be shipped to Belgium.

frustrating

My status in my dashboard widget is still onchanged (and on the apple site). It
is frustrating, but I am trying to be happy for all of you who see some progress in the delivery process

Waiting sucks...

Show us some unveiling pictures, please, to pass the time...
(jkwuc89 thanx for your pictures)

Cheers...

My first post from my new MBP C2D. Hopefully, those of you still waiting will get theirs soon.

So far, so good. No blemishes or issues so far. It is staying relatively cool to the touch (I am only running Firefox at the moment so I am not really pushing things).

Now comes the very long task of moving everything off of my old laptop.

What's Up With The Dearth Of Pictures?

Nobody got a camera?!?!

I thought we would see a TON of pics by now. Was yesterday the first arrivals day? Congrats to all. Now how 'bout some iTunes encode and Handbrake encode figures please? Anyone using EyeTV with their 17" MBP right out of the box? Thanks.

So it looks I'm still in the race of being the first European to get the 17"MBP:D
However, delivery is on Monday 20th and I'll have to work:(

That is just funny, just around an hour of having a good whine on this thread about not receiving any notice of shipping, apple sends and email saying its shipped...23rd estimated arrival.

Anyone else in Australia know when theirs has shipped/will be delivered?

This whole debacle has me feeling like I'm on an emotional rollercoaster. :)

TNT tells me the 20th.

Just phoned TNT and my MBP is in Frankfurt, what the HELL is it doing there! can't they fly from China to UK would be a day or two quicker.

Hoping to pickup from Depot on Sat rather than have monday delivery

First post from the laptank :) This thing is huge compared to my 12" PB (big surprise ;) ) I did take some pictures but won't have time to upload until later tonight.

Mom just emailed me, said she got the first email today from apple saying it shipped - Not sure what stage that means it's in, but either way I have to wait till next Wed to get it when i go home for thanksgiving.

Got it!

Got it!!
Glossy 17" MBP looks awesome! No grainy video either! Man this glossy looks nice. I had a matte before this glossy. I like them both...
I am one happy camper now! :D

Small detail I've noticed in the first hour of using my MBP 17": uneven screen brightness.

Seems to be a bit of a common refrain.

Mine has a band of brightness along the bottom (where the dock sits), with slightly varying brightness along the far L & R sides. Kinda weird, but not a deal-breaker for me. I found if I sat back far enough and fiddled with the screen angle, it became less noticeable.

Did a pixel test, and found only 2 pixels that were a little funky -- during regular usage, you absolutely can't tell (i.e. on the desktop background). In fact, the cranky pixels were hard enough to pick out during the test -- I had to really squint and look closely to find them.

Generally, I'm a pretty happy camper. Very stylish machine, very quiet and fast.

Now -- off to mix & edit a multi-track jazz recording using my MBP! :)

(I KNEW there was a reason why I bought the damn thing!)
