Not necrsssai

not necessarily. They’ve only leaked what we already knew. Big X and bezelless Watch. The pros are arguably X level redesign and secrecy levels. It’ll be their one more thing (or the new laptop ZERO leaks about that either). I like it. Nice to be wowed at a keynote for a change.

Really? We knew about the Watch UI, haptic side button and crown?

We knew it was bezelless with 15% more screen. What else would do wih that area other than add complications.

Haptic side button and crown. Meh. Not excited either way and I’d say that was inevitable.

What would those complications look like? Nobody predicted that. If everyone could design a UI like Apple does, Apple wouldn't exist.

First smartwatch with haptic side button and crown. Easy to say. Hard to do.

If anything, iPad Pro with TrueDepth is shaping up to be the boring product.

I don’t know for sure, but there’s one with my name on it whenever it’s released. I’d love to see it on the 12th, but Oct/Nov will be fine also.

Highly doubtful for the new iPads on the September 12 keynote. Think about it, three new iPhones they’re going to discuss, [And any changes with those new iPhones and a new Apple Watch], likely with the introduction of the Airpower, Which leaves very little leeway to introduce new iPads in that timeframe. I would say October or November of this year for the iPad, perhaps 2019 early on as well. Version two of AirPods are also rumored to be 2019 as well.

September might not happen, but definitely this year. Kuo and Gurman have both said it.

I just don't seem them only announcing 2 things, ie the Apple Watch and iPhones, the Apple Watch they never talk about for a long time anyway and this years looks great (Take my money NOW Apple) but it's not a complete redesign so even if they talk about it for say half an hour, then iPhone's again they are an S upgrade this year, even Apple are calling them iPhone XS, so even if that took them 45 minutes you're talking an hour and half for Apple Watch and the 3 new iPhone's, they could easily slip the new iPad Pro's in there.

Right, but you have to factor in they will discuss the technical details about changes with the iPhones, Apple Watch, pricing, and any demos they might include in there as well. I understand introduction the hardware doesn’t take that long, but I really don’t see the iPad being included in this specific keynote. I’m thinking still later this year October/November.

It's hard to believe that they will release an iPad Pro with a 'last generation' chip ('A11X') at the the same time or after the iPhones with A12s, so I'm guessing that the next iPad Pros will have A12-based chips ('A12X'). If that's so, it might be at least October before we see them if Apple wants to avoid the iPhone being overshadowed by the iPad in the speed stakes. Or they might not care too much about that, and even make a virtue of a new line up of mobile devices with super-fast, energy-efficient 7 nm processors.

Edit: In short, I've got no idea!

My time scale of 30 minutes for the Watch was including that as they don't really go over that time, maybe add a minute or two on for the promo video like with Series 3 last year. Also Apple don't just unveil two products at the September event there is usually something else as well, last year was Apple Watch, Apple TV and 2 iPhone's but in between that was a lot of fluff that i'm not sure they will do again this year.

The reason i say iPad at the September event is because it's IOS and it makes sense to release it along with iPhone which is also IOS. An October event would only make sense if they have some big upgrades for the Mac, from reports and rumours most of the Mac line up will just be getting spec bumps (including the iMac) leaving the only redesigned product being the new MacBook Air.

I’m kind of torn on this. With the rumours recently about an updated Mac mini, non-Pro MacBooks, I felt like there was potential for the September event to be iOS devices (including Watch) and October for Mac. But after those few leaks yesterday and Rambo also feeling that iPad Pro won’t be launched on Sept 12 (really curious where he’s gotten all this insight from), my guess is that iPad Pro and Mac updates in a later event.

I will be the cynic here and say that the iPad will not launch in two weeks. I think that that’s going to be reserved for a later time, and it’s also very possible it could be into early 2019 as well. I don’t think Apple has any plans to announce any new iPads at this moment, even though we know they are on the verge of debuting with Face ID, and for the reduction of the bezels.

Even though that we are guaranteed at least new products in two weeks with three new iPhones and the Apple Watch, I don’t necessarily believe that Apple has to push an iPad ‘just because’. They do things very differently when we least expect it, not to mention the AirPower could also possibly be launched during this time frame as well.

If not September then i will say announced in October at an event, maybe they have more than we know for the Mac that would be great considering my 2011 MacBook Pro died the other day and i need to upgrade anyway!!

I agree. As much as I’d love to see the new iPads I don’t feel like they’re going to be shown in 12 days from now.

It will be announced this year, Mark Gurman and Ming Chi Kuo have said that but "later this year" is what they said just before WWDC!

There is no A11X. This has pretty much been confirmed already.

That said - it’s just a name. They could call the A11X, A12X if they wanted to.

Where has Rambo said this?

There's some assertion in the press that the Xs are variants of the non-Xs, e.g. that A10X is a variant of A10, but I'm no expert and certainly can't confirm that. Of course, even if it was so in the past, that doesn't mean that Apple feels constrained by the same nomenclature going forward. My point was as much about speed as names though.

How great is it that his name is Rambo.

He was also just saying how the iPhone XS and Watch Series 4 are marketing images, not part of a video. Likely from the launch site that goes live after the event? Makes it seem even less likely that we'll see iPad Pro at the Sept 12 event.

I chuckled when I read this name Rambo ! Do people have this kind of names in Real Life ??

Lol definitely. Been around much longer than the movies. This specific Rambo is Brazilian.

Also - Guilherme Rambo & Steve T-S were the guys who were always tearing apart iOS 11 betas last summer and finding all the goodies / provides leaks. I think actually they really went through that HomePod firmware and found the iPhone X glyph for the first time. Quite sure they also found the iPhone X name a few days or very close to the keynote before we knew the name for sure.
