Yup, not gonna lie—likely too good of an opportunity to re-sell these babies considering limited supply. I may be able to cover most of the the cost of my Pixel 2 XL, wife’s new iPhone 8, daugher’s iPhone 7 Plus if I can grab just a pair of these bad boys for day one delivery.

I really do like the design but I’m not interested for my personal use until there’s a Plus version, hopefully next year.

EVERYTHING I've read suggests if I'm doing iPhone this year, 8 Plus is the way to go. But the early adoptor in me is whispering in my ear.

The ability to take delivery on 11/3 lasted longer than I expected, though surprisingly shipping pushed out before in store pickup. In fact, the 2 I ordered right after preorders began would’ve arrived Nov 10-17 if I shipped to home instead of in store pickup. Twenty minutes after preorders started and while shipping times were out 2-3 weeks, a couple models could still be picked up on Nov 3 in my area. By 30 minutes in, shipping times had moved to 4-5 weeks.

Yeah, 256GB were already unavailable on TMobile for Nov 3 pickup/delivery by the time I was trying to check out. Verizon had those models available for quite a while though for pickup here in Tampa.

The silver models seemed to be unavailable on Nov 3 really quick after preorders started.

Actually, I got it in before. Verizon opened preorders on their system a few minutes before kickoff. Then I hit the online Apple store as a backup cause I don't trust Verizon. That both orders show a Nov 3 delivery still has me in shock.

Yeah, I had Verizon models favorited on the Apple Store app, but then it required a Verizon number and other info, which I didn't have handy at the time. So went back, picked Tmo, and checked out. That delay must've pushed me to Nov 10.

I will tell you that I'm moderately surprised that shipping is currently running at "only" 5-6 weeks. Either supply wasn't as constrained as advertised or demand isn't as huge as expected.

Then again production is probably such that it would require a gigantic never-before-seen demand to stretch out shipping beyond 6 weeks.

Bingo. Spot on. I think it's going to be a small selection of folks who make a huge margin on flipping the device. So I'll wind up keeping one X and either returning the other or if someone in my circle wants to buy it at retail so they have it on Nov 3, that'll work.

They're currently going for about 2K. But honestly, it doesn't look like there's a lot of interest in mine. Maybe because of my Nov 10 arrival date. I have no problem leaving them up until closer to the date. Maybe someone will bite then.
