Here is another one.....I like this!
hope they make the camera flush though.

The iPhone 8’s final design might’ve just been spotted in the wild

I definitely think we're going to see a vertical camera, as all the rumors/leaked photos have specified thus far. The home button placement I don't believe it's going to be remapped to the back of the iPhone. I don't see Apple venturing on this route. It's Hard to fathom we are only 3 1/2 months away from the September launch.

Why do we care what SJ insisted on?

Or even pretend to somehow know what would have been "insisted" on.

Indeed this Steve Jobs obsession dies my head in. 'Steve would never have approved that.... waaaaa waaaa!'

The guy has been dead 6 years now and around 10 iPhones have been launched in this time. He was an innovator who thrived on perfection but I could say the say about my own boss. Sometimes an engineer has to step in and explain the semantics of fitting hardware into tight spaces. A protruding camera is absolutely fine.

Maybe the Apple engineer should do better. Every new flagships don't have such ugly protruding camera. Well, to put it bluntly, it looks "low-end" with the design giving impression of a cheap camera module. There hasnt been any leaks on the camera itself at this point - so unlikely it will be some kind of new tech camera needing the hump.

Why does that look "low-end"? Maybe to plenty people it looks quite nice, and to plenty more it doesn't matter one way or another?

Perhaps the design team want it to protrude slightly, have you considered that? It certainly doesn't look low end, that's just your personal bias. It doesn't bother me whether it's flush or not and doubt many others give a toss either.

That's too far-fetched..protrude for the sake of design. Many here seems to have an opinion and lots of thumbdowns why the fps on s8 is where it is. If I am bias, then so are all those S8 fps placement naysayers.

But looking at it rationally a protruding camera is a blight on the design no matter what excuses you may have.

You are trying to make it seem like there's some sort of an objective take on something that is essentially subjective? Kind of like saying that the color blue is a blight no matter what "excuses" someone might have?

That's not a good analogy. :p It is more like saying black is white. It is just wrong. Nothing subjective about it.

Aesthetics is something that is subjective. It's as simple as that. Having strong feelings about aesthetics one way or another doesn't change that, and if anything, basically even makes it that much more self-evident.

A lopsided protruding camera is just bad design or a compromised design. Nothing to do with aesthetics or feelings. Anyone (exception being those sheeples) in their right mind would say a flushed one is a better design than a lopsided protruding one.

And there once again you have self-evident aesthetics. But now we've crossed into the realm of ad hominem arguments, which just takes away that much more from anything that might be said and doesn't really leave room for much of a discussion.

What's there to discuss? We all know it must be some sort of compromise why the camera is protruding. If apple has a choice, you think they would do it? Absolutely not. Just like the FPS on S8, you think Samsung purposely put it there. There must be some design compromise.

So I just say it straight out. It is just doesnt look good to the point of ugly(the protruding bit). It is a case of factor over form. It is beating the dead horse to say it is something else.

Implying that what something looks like is something that is objective rather than subjective would not only be beating a dead horse, but one that was never alive to begin with.

I've gotten used to camera bumps and humps of smartphones so I don't mind either, but it's worth pointing out that we learned about "balanced" and "perfect" smartphone design from Apple.

We're all more or less used to it now, but the protruding camera and all the wobbling that came with it was unexpected of Apple when it first came out like that in the iPhone 6.

As for the iPhone 8 designs we've seen so far, I'm definitely a bigger fan of the front than the back. This report is also promising: https://9to5mac.com/2017/05/26/iphone-8-touch-id-in-screen/

Report: iPhone 8 to feature Touch ID directly on the OLED screen with optical fingerprint sensor

A new report from Economic Daily News, via Digitimes, indicates that the iPhone 8 will use a new optical fingerprint sensor technology to enable users to place their fingers directly on the OLED display and have the phone scan the print, as an elegant replacement for the existing Touch ID home button.

The front is going to be the star of the show.

More iPhone 8 rumors:

A size comparison from a case maker.

iphone8casecomparison.jpg

How do regular size vs Plus users feel about this?

Is one model enough to blend both worlds happily?

Yep. Thicker by imperceptible fraction of a mm.
Well thats what apple choose at this point. We will see if the iPhone 8 is thicker to make the camera flush.

I said the same thing when the back of the iPhone 7 Plus leaked. But once it came out it was not as bad as it looked.

The back of the 7, especially in the matte black model, was definitely a huge step up in refining the 6-6S generation look.

The only issue I had with the 6 design was the antenna, especially on the gold model. Eye sore for sure.

EDIT: Thats something I can see Jobs saying "get the **** out of here with that"

I don't need to make excuses, I'm not designing it, nor do I care about it as much as you it seems.
