no regrets
no returns
no price worries. if upgrade for features, then must anticipate may cost more. not planning to upgrade til next really big features jump. might be 2-3 years.

no add accessories expected becuz any included accessories dilute purchase price of phone unit itself.

What’s something that you would consider a really big jump? I’d imagine it will only be from a software perspective since hardware is all becoming very similar among phone makers.

Absolutely no regrets. This thing is simply the best gadget/tool/portable computer I have even bought. And I had many computers / gadgets over the years!

The cost per minute of use of this thing must be close to peanuts. I am using it a lot for many things.
Using it for many things? How is it any different to using an iPhone 8 or any other iPhone for those things? That's the problem people have with justifying the price. It has FaceID, an OLED screen, slimmer bezels, slightly improved cameras, a notch... is that really worthy of 1k? It just wasn't to me and is why I returned mine (apart from iOS 11 being just as terrible on it).

For many, it’s worth $200 more than the 8 Plus. In the premium market, $200 is nothing.

But other than scanning your face what can it do that the 8 Plus can't is what I meant? Apart from the OLED screen and the gestures I found nothing. Still runs iOS 11 which is just as terrible on it so I ended up returning mine. Just couldn't justify it. But hey, if you and many others here are satisfied with it then fair play. I just wish I was.

Got the 64GB for £800. So far I’m happy with it, coming from a 128GB iPhone 7 where the maximum amount of space I had used was under 30GB I thought what’s the point in going higher.

I don’t really look at what it can do. There are free phones that can do the same thing as an iPhone 8. It’s about the overall experience of using the device. For me, a Plus size screen is a smaller form factor, lack of forehead and chin, OLED, and the gesture based UI makes for a better experience than the iPhone 8. Plus, it’s a $200 difference. Again, that’s nothing when you are buying $800 plus phones.

I would say that £200 more is significant to ‘some’ people, especially if £800 was the top end of their budget. That’s a personal distinction really as no single type of person buys a specific type of phone.

That’s fine. For me, it’s nothing. Easily worth $200 more than than 8 Plus for the reasons I mentioned.

Most people I’ve met have the ‘it’s only $200 more’ attitude.. Now, they’re paying $1000 plus for a phone, up from $800.. The following year, it’ll be the same ‘ oh it’s only another $200 ‘ and now the overall cost has crept up to $1200 and so on..

I sold my X and picked up the 8+ yesterday because the battery life, along with the ever-so-annoying face ID and stupid notch ( for videos ), really drove me up the wall!

I get the impression attitudes to mobile phones these days differ culturally. America sounds like there is still a lot of buzz around new releases whereas it’s died down a lot in the UK. The iPhone X has had a lot of criticism here for its price and judging by how few I’ve seen since it was released, I don’t think it’s had the same excitement here. The £200 ($282) more is enough of a jump in our market and lower tier iPhones have better carrier deals.

It’s all about materialism and ‘me me me ‘ here..

No, it is there best iPhone ever. Absolutely love it!

Use it a lot more than I did my previous iPhone 7 Plus. I know the screen is narrower, but don't notice in use. The full screen display, touch gestures and Touch ID are awesome - makes it such a pleasure to use. I hope all come to the iPad Pro this year.

It lets you play a few super basic games that you control with facial expressions.

The X is worth it to me not because of what it can do that the 8+ can’t (although I do prefer FaceID to TouchID). It’s that it can do everything the 8+ can do, but in a smaller package. Yes there is the non-plus 8, but it lacks the dual camera. For some of us the smaller size is worth paying for.

This pretty much sums it up for me.

I just think that people in the UK are more cautious about spending money at present - and prices have increased yet more because of the Brexit vote and devaluing of the pound.

Personally I don’t think the extra Apple are charging for the X is at all excessive seeing all the fantastic new technology it includes

So after a little bit of time with your new iPhone do you think the phone is worth $1000?

Do you regret buying it?
Have you taken yours back?
Would you pay the same price next year or maybe a little higher?
Should Apple of included better accessories?

Thoughts and opinions?

No regrets! Absolutely love my iPhone X!

Yup, main reason I wanted it.

Good question, don’t know right now.
I will know the next “it” for me when it comes along.
Just like I did not intend to upgrade from ip6s+ in 2017, but I saw the “it” in the X.

Anyone going to be upgrading this year to the newer version? FaceID works unbelievably well I haven't had a problem with it for agesss

I haven’t decided yet. I could just keep my X if there’s nothing compelling enough to upgrade which it’s looking like will be the case. But with my upgrade every 12 I could just to have the latest but it’s not necessary as I don’t want the Plus. 2019 will probably be the good year to upgrade.

I’m sure you’re right with the first point.

I can’t say I’ve seen anything particularly thrilling about the X that makes me think it’s worth £300 more or double the cost of my current contract. I had a good bit of time using a friends last weekend and it’s still just an iPhone. The interface is the same and the screen seems slightly different. I couldn’t definitively say whether it’s better or not just by looking at it. The exterior is nice looking, but £300 more? That’s the question that’s become a major stumbling block for many I think. I think it’s excessive as I can’t see the justification for the higher price personally.
