Are you asking where the shadowing was? If so, it was a darker shadow on lower left, then lighter all areound the edges, portrait orientation, no yellow just a dark shadow. But after the update, it's gone now, brightness is even. Oh, and s/n starts with DLX.

My good 12.9 is DLX too. First try was a win

Phew

Does anybody else's screen shift color like this? Not sure if this is regular or worth replacing.

you can only grade a screen like this by looking at it dead on center. tilting it would only serve to view backlight bleed.
so yes, a cheap ips panel will show these pink tints when viewed from an angle.

So will all the 10.5 inch displays have this issue? I don't want to go to the Apple Store and exchange it if all the screens will have this issue.

Alright. After I returned my first iPad Pro 10.5 for usage reasons, I decided to pick another up and plan on holding on to it.

I'll post a picture of my screen. Taken in a dark room with full brightness and True Tone OFF.

Here it is. Let me know if you notice anything odd.

Warm tint towards the bottom of the screen but most seem to exhibit this.

I see blotchy pink and bluish-green areas all over the screen. Is this what you see on the screen in person?

That isn't an adjustment issue. The one I returned had a pinkish "blob" on one side. The 12.9 I have now has a dark blue shady line going completely down one side. It's tolerable but definitely there. Apple probably switched screen suppliers, due to demand.

I also returned one with improperly installed rattling volume buttons.

It also seems that there is a problem with socalled Newton Rings that occurs when 2 surfaces meet, maybe also with the new display types bonded to the glass?

I just returned mine due to this problem and did not want to mess with an exchange to try for better. Just not acceptable to me for a Pro level device. Yellow across the bottom of the display in portrait. And shifted to the side when in landscape.

I think the problem may be due to close tolerances. The pro is so thin that any variance in thickness, ie. if areas of the display are glued down too tight, changes the color uniformity in that area.

On my 10.5 the top did not display any yellow, but when I pressed down on the bezel area the yellow appeared on the viewable screen..

Believe it or not.... My 2017 9.7 Non-Pro has a much more uniform screen with more natural clean whites that don’t cross over to blue... IMO. And with the latest iOS I get an adjustable color temp night mode...

I love the performance of the pro. But seriously. The screen should be impeccable, not a compromise...

Sorry for the late reply!

I actually do not see those pinkish/bluish areas anywhere on the screen. Not sure if that's because of how the picture shows up but I do see it in the picture I posted, just not in person.

The picture was taken with a 7 plus though.

And therein lies most of the absurdity of this thread.
