Can you imagine the indignity?

When offered coffee at a meeting yesterday, - unthinkingly - I accepted and said 'yes'. It transpired that Nescafe was why my hosts had in mind.

Sigh.

I left that excuse and sorry apology for coffee in its cup, resting on its saucer, and sipped water instead.

Standards, don't you know....

About to use one of the SS Mokas that hasn't seen use in a while. Some strong coffee, aside from the espresso here and there, is a welcome change.

Enjoying a late night cup of Kenyan after getting back home from Davos, tastes great.

Ah; enjoy your Kenyan coffee - as I am sure you will - after Davos.

Well, as I have seen from/with/by my Italian colleagues, little beats an excellent espresso made with a Bialetti moka. Do enjoy.

For those readers in Canada, www.greenbeanery.ca offers all manner of espresso, coffee and roasting paraphernalia as well as roasted and green beans. It is where I get my green beans. I do recommend the sweet marias site for general roasting instruction. I have a small manual pump espresso machine meant to be used while back packing that has really let me learn the tamp and the grind. For my day to day machine I have a gaggia automatic machine that has done a great job for me over 5 or 6 years now and is very convenient, although maintenance can be a bit tedious.

A cup of Earl Grey with warm milk and sugar with a slice of carrot cake.

This morning - having arrived home - I had a lovely mug (Le Creuset) of Ethiopian coffee.

There is very little Ethiopian coffee and as my brother seems of have consumed most of it - I have been away for the past four months - but I think he missed this tiny package.

Never mind. I have a/the perfect excuse to head out and purchase fresh coffee this afternoon.
