We actually have a whole thread dedicated to spotting fakes on eBay. Have a look! I’m in the process of updating it for the first time in 2ish years so there may be some changes over the next few days. But it’s mostly up to date aside from missing the new band styles introduced with the Ultra.

This is a great reference. I’m dipping my toe in the water and placed my first eBay order since I’m feeling more confident about telling legit from fake

Storm Blue

Obviously a very chill band, Storm Blue is so desaturated. Elderberry sport band was out for delivery and then it wasn’t lmao…wrist shot of Storm Blue tmrw! I’ll also throw it next to Abyss and buddies.

Beat me to it! Since I have the S7 in Blue, I'm coordinating everything with it, especially from blending in to complimenting it, so I'm looking forward to how this looks.

BL.

The midnight ocean band feels amazing and I like it more than the alpine loop.

I’m ready to tolerate whatever gap there is between this band and a “Series” watch as John Gruber calls them. Yellow figures to be that good and the Ocean at-large looks quite good here.

Funny seeing you outside the Hermes penthouse 💙

Here are my favourites from the new collection (sandwiched between my other favourites)

Cloud
Succulent
Slate Blue
Pine Green

Image is intentionally de-saturated to try to get the on screen colours to match real life!

Might also notice I've started vinyl wrapping the pins on my bands to match my Ceramic S5! Not perfect, but works better for my OCD the the SS pins!

Bought the Midnight Ocean band and really like the color. I have very huge wrists, so most choices don't work for me. Mostly been stuck with the simple XL offerings. I was excited because I could get the XL extension for the Ocean Band. By the listing, it says its 250mm, and the standard XL are 245mm.

Well, the Extension is much much longer (adds closer to 125mm instead of 50mm). Which makes sense for dive use.

May have to try cutting it down to use.

This has to be apples worst sport band colour offering in a long time. You have 1 warm and 1 cold white, 2 very washed out blue/greens and the typical black and red. Elderberry is a nice addition, but I personally miss the more vibrant colours.

How are you liking the sport loop if I may ask?
This one in particular? I didn’t take it out of the box until last night as I was getting my watches dressed for today.

I will strap it on and photo very quickly today and then remove it. I want to keep it nice and flat until I can get all of them and photo.

As for Storm Blue, after I took it out I did play with it, tilting it in the light. And though it is very plain in base color, the series of stripes are very glimmery and because they slowly change color across the band it really creates a kind of mystery as you tilt it. A weird cool drab iridescence.

I’ll maybe make a video with my pic today…

They've certainly left better colours for the solo loop which is a real shame for those of us that resize the watch.

Hello, has someone tried their old Braided Solo Loops on their new Ultra? Do you think they still mostly fit, or are they slightly looser on the bigger case?
I've purchased a Braided Solo as a gift for my dad but he's receiveng his AW Ultra tomorrow and I'm wondering if the BSL size still apply to the Ultra. Thanks!

I would venture a guess you’ll be fine. 2mm on each side is nothing in the grand scheme of a BSL size, stretching goes much further than that.

And isn’t the Ultra thicker? So it’ll raise the band higher off the wrist?

Good point as always ;)

I did the math back when we encountered the question of BSLs on series 3…it seems obvious Apple wrote off the slight changes when they embarked on establishing “forever” sizes for the solo loops.

I did just grab a ruler to remind myself how tiny millimeter are, as a silly imperial units user. Tiny!

Someone is going to try this out soon enough, but FWIW my guess would be that your existing Solos will wear more lose on the Ultra. 4 mm is not nothing, it is exactly the difference between my normal Solos in size 5 and the one Solo I have in size 6 (for sleep). And no, from a few pictures like this one below it doesn‘t look like the lug rail of the Ultra is higher from the wrist.

Oof, that’s right the band channel sits so low on any case. It might tip a series 6 BSL that’s loosened from “wearable” to “annoying” @Clarke_G is it a series 7/8 BSL?

It's a size 5 Abyss Blue 45 mm, brand new and sealed that I yoinked for just 15 euros, his first solo loop and I wasn't sure about the exact size between a 5 or a 6, but it was too good of a deal to not try it out. Actually I'm kind of hoping that it WILL be slightly looser on the Ultra since Size 5 fits my dad's wrist pretty snugly, so a little looser on the Ultra plus natural loosening with some usage and it might actually be perfect for him 😅
