It's a size 5 Abyss Blue 45 mm, brand new and sealed that I yoinked for just 15 euros, his first solo loop and I wasn't sure about the exact size between a 5 or a 6, but it was too good of a deal to not try it out. Actually I'm kind of hoping that it WILL be slightly looser on the Ultra since Size 5 fits my dad's wrist pretty snugly, so a little looser on the Ultra plus natural loosening with some usage and it might actually be perfect for him 😅
Yeah one has to be pretty flexible of mind with the Braideds. Nice yoink!

The midnight ocean band feels amazing and I like it more than the alpine loop.

Having just bought a Gold SS S8 because I do not need any of the features of the Ultra and don't take my watch into the shower, much less the ocean, but I love the color of the Midnight and White Band so I am tempted to buy them as a "safety net" and just keep them in the box in case I ever do get an Ultra down the road and the two colors have long been retired.

Storm Blue with its greener runway and burple rails is a pain to edit but I think I captured the gestalt.

As for the new sport loop pattern, I think the operative optical trick I’m enjoying is how in profile the variegated colored pinstripes merge into a sweet sort of rainbow. More pronounced from a distance.

I am super excited my Orange Alpine Loop sized M will be here much sooner than expected 9/28 instead of 10/10 - 10/17. I hope I chose the right size. In Solo Loop I wear size 8 and Braided Solo Loop size 7.

I am disappointed that the Rainforest Braided Solo Loop size 7/8 is not available either in store or online from Apple.

Got my first braided solo loop and it’s really comfortable and snug. One of my favorite bands so far. How long does it take before it gets loose? Any remedies? Washing it in hot water?

Most sizes available online here and mostly in stores as well. Just the 45mm size 8 is out of stock.
Fortunately I’m on a size 6.

I did the math back when we encountered the question of BSLs on series 3…it seems obvious Apple wrote off the slight changes when they embarked on establishing “forever” sizes for the solo loops.

I did just grab a ruler to remind myself how tiny millimeter are, as a silly imperial units user. Tiny!

As we supply to an American company I work in 0.001” daily. That’s tiny 😂

Just ordered the Apple Watch Ultra for delivery later on today. I got it with S Orange Alpine Loop. Rumor has it that the BSL fits loosely on the Ultra so that means I can order Rainforest BSL in 45mm size 6 which is available for shipping. There are none in my local Southern California stores. I also finally ordered S/M leather link in Ink which should be here later on today.

Am I correct when noticing that the lugs of the Ultra bands stick out on the sides on a S7 or S8 edition?
Just tried at the local store here on my S7. On the picture it looks worse than it is to me. The ultra bands almost fit snug to the S7 (and S8). What I did find disappointing however is the Alpine Loop. Looks nice but what a hassle to get this right on your wrist. However the yellow Ocean band looks just stunning!

Nice. I'm definitely going to get one of these new sport loops, probably Elderberry, but the others (Storm, Red...) are also very tempting...

@athousandbands thoughts on the Ultra, getting one? Also got your eyes on any Ultra geared bands?
When I see fit to replace my Starlight as it no longer gives exclusive Nike access, the Ultra will tempt, but I’ll prob get its predecessor the Ti 7…I do have a few Ultra yoinks coming.

A lovely eBayer got my yellow ocean out before he opened his Ultra yesterday, one I paid for weeks ago. Sadly all three Ultra bands coming from the other side of the country.

I guess the Alpine loop will look better on Starlight than Ti7?

Is it me or is your Dark Cherry bit too blue? I think you my be lacking a bit of yellow/orange tint as Golden Brown is also bit darker and richer than this. ;)
There’s a certain “oomph” I can never quite capture with any Leather Link but I held my phone next to each band and got them as close as I could.

There’s no escaping the blue sky I guess. I def had room to wiggle Dark Cherry purple and GB more orange but it just didn’t line up with the ground truth.

Cancelling my “all the purples” shot. What a silly idea

Green Alpine Loop on my 7. I love that the loops are close enough together to not be too tight on one, but not too loose on the other. Super comfortable too. The end curves a bit more than I thought it would, so I’m not worried at all about it slipping out.
