Got these two in today. Didn’t even know I needed them, haven’t owned this kind before. But $60 for both would you have said no? And wow are they comfortable!!! (yeah the lugs & buckles won’t match my gold watch but I won’t lose any sleep over it)

Some of this brings to mind, asking on behalf of those of us newly taking the plunge, to those of you with closets full of Hermès bands: what do you recommend to preserve such leather bands? I won't be looking to darken it or any such, just to, uh, treat it properly - I guess, keep it from drying out? Or do I need to do anything special?

@jeremyfernie - ha! jinx!

In full disclosure, blue is my favorite color, but Surf Blue is the perfect shade of blue to me. Go for it!

I couldn't agree more. If you like blue in general, you need to get Surf.

Oh man. That’s pretty close.

As the OP already said, in real life those colours are not so close at all. The Royal Pulse looks very purple next to Surf Blue.

So when will apple update their designs for summer?
Outside of Apple, nobody knows right now when, or even if, summer colors will be released. In past years, I think they were released around WWDC in June. But, we don’t know if that will happen this year with COVID-19. There may be supply disruptions. Or, demand may have fallen to the point that Apple decides it’s not worth making new colors right now and instead continues to sell the existing lineup to deplete inventory. Only time will tell if they are going to release any new colors this summer.

Considering they managed to launch iPhone SE, iPad Pro, Magic Keyboard, etc.. I think we’ll see the usual early June. And hey, keep in mind: the bands we saw this season came 2 (3, really) months into the pandemic - which is particularly relevant if they were made in China.

For those that might have all three, are there major shade differences between the gray/dark gray sport bands on the Series 3 Gray Ceramic Edition, "Dark Gray sport band" and the dark gray sport band that comes with the Series 5 Space Black Titanium Edition?

I can’t speak to the ceramic one but the s3 gray that came with the aluminum and s5 edition are very close to identical. And given that the series 3 band often runs under $20 on eBay (I didn’t have to wait long after someone on here pointed this out with pics to find the band in both 38 and 42mm with that nice black pin).

I do remember considering a damaged ceramic dark gray band on eBay and it also being very similar. Basically we’re talking about a desaturated cocoa or dark olive here.

Thank you!

I was able to snag one of the Dark Gray Sport Bands with the dark pin color off of eBay earlier this year and I love it. I have also been keeping an eye out for anyone looking to sell just the Titanium Edition Dark Gray Sport Band thinking it is a little lighter shade of gray. If it is the same color as the one that came with the Series 3, then I essentially already have it which is awesome!

It’s not unheard of for people to unload titanium and ceramic bands, especially if they’re old ceramic, at normal band price, but right now the mark-up on those titaniums is Hermes level. My bf got the natural Ti and I struggle to even pick out the titanium pin from among my phalanx of gray bands. But tbh that speaks more to the bleh that is that light gray band.

Totally agree! I see more hints of yellow in the lighter gray version.

I also have the Fog Sport Band which is great as well.

I swapped the lugs on my two Sport Buckles to Space Black to match the case of my SBSS S4, but I would love to be able to swap the buckle hardware, as well.
