Now you my friend have style and taste.

Hows the battery life on the wireless Mighty Mouse? I'm thinking of purchasing one to go with my MacBook which will be ordered soon, it's just I don't want something thats going to need a new set of batteries every 2-3 weeks. I'd rather just buy a cheap $9.99 Microsoft Mouse. :p

I don't know anything about the battery life but it is terrible for day to day use. I'm not exaggerating here ever, this is actually one of the worst mice ever produced and if it didn't have the Apple logo on it then it would have been condemned to the depths of hell a LONG time ago.

If you buy one, prepare to be infuriated by the way it can't detect what side you're clicking if you have your other fingers anywhere near it and the weekly ritual of cleaning out the scroll ball.

There are plenty of bluetooth mice from companies like Microsoft and Logitech which outperform Mighty Mouse.

I had two screens for a little while, one had a black spot in the upper left corner (the right screen btw). long story short I temporary had 2 screens one for the macbook and one for the xbox. I seriously considered to buy a second dell 1908wfp because then it would be a stunning setup.

nice, is that a powermac g5 or mac pro? You should get one of these for your wires.
Hehe, I picked up 2 of the SIGNUM's from IKEA and they're great! I put my power bars on them and even my ugly cable modem! Hides everything!

It was next to impossible to screw it underneath my desk with a screw driver. Luckily, it conveniently slips right into the crack between the desk and the frame and holds up perfectly.

I have to agree on so many levels here. I can go anywhere from 3-6 months without changing the battery (I honestly don't keep track anymore) but I've never had as many problems with any other Apple product. I'm not trying to persuade you not to buy one, I'm just saying I've had tons of problems. The scroll ball, for example, is extremely inconsistent. One day it works, the next it doesn't. Left and Right clicks aren't that much of an issue for me. I've had problems where I haven't been able to click anything, the mouse literally just dies, until I turn it off and back on again, and the mouse's battery had loads of life left.

It's one product that Apple really needs to improve the quality of. It's a great mouse for features and how it works, but when it doesn't work it just gets frustrating.

I'm going to install mine in a few hours, I'm assuming you're talking about a hand screw driver? A power driver would do the trick I would think.

We're both 18 ;), I'm sure she appreciates all the attention lol

And I'm too lazy to go check on what model the compaq is, but it's running Ubuntu 8.04 Desktop. I usually access everything over AFP (netatalk) and SSH. It shows up in Bonjour as an Xserve :D

Funny thing is, my MacBook cost more than my hackintosh+monitor+HDTV+Apple KB/M lol

She does not look 18. She looks like she's in her 20's.

hmm, I don't really know I got it from a local shop, I did some things with it: made a few cable management holes, removed a small part of back side of the desk and I removed a part that is supposed to carry a printer but my printer was too big and now it is perfect for my current setup. (I guess)

The Wireless Mighty Mouse is a pain in the ass.
I bought it yesterday, but ill plug in my wired one now.

MY setup if you scroll up has a IKEA Signum.

Thats where all the wires are.

Yeah, as I said, I don't own a drill and it's pretty much impossible to just use a screwdriver.

It was like a lightbulb that went off as I was sitting there underneath the desk - it slides in perfectly and holds up great, evne with all the weight on it!

Don't forget to put your powerbars/modems or other ugly stuff on the signum before mounting it onto the desk because it might be too hard to slide those things in after.

Best ikea thing I ever bought! Thanks again for the tip!

I can see that - looks great - a Mac Pro + monitor would be a mess otherwise in terms of wires!

plz ignore my post right above this, i accidentally hit keybord and apparantly hit enter or something, here is my real post:

yeah, the mighty mouse is terrible, i just use a wireless kensington, the only negative thing is that i only have 2 usb ports on my macbook, and when using the mouse, i only have 1 port so i cant plug in printer, charge ipod, and use mouse at sametime, which is annoying, having to pull out cords and reinsert them again to print something

i am not going to post my setup, i did this in another thread asking for pics of ppls mac setups, and i was temporrarily banned for it because i had a naked woman as my desktop.

Im just wondering y no one told me before this that i would get banned for that stuff, because after the ban i had some questions that i thot could get answered on this site, but couldn't use it.

Y can't i post pics containing adult content? if the site doesn't want younger kids seeing it, i understand that, but then they should have an option were u mark ur post as adult or something, not just ban users without letting them know that that kind of behavior is unacceptable, i mean, some curse words are even allowed in these posts, so y no nudity?

please don't post this kind of stuff in this thread. pm a mod if your that upset about it.

When you sign up it is posted in the forum rules that you can't post adult content. Read the rules and abide by them and you won't get banned. Simple as that.

How exactly did you hit the keyboard and then enter and this came out:

The thing is that you were told that nudity was not allowed, it was clearly stated in the Forum Rules that you read when you joined, I don't know how you missed it, unless if you didn't read them and lied about reading them.

And I remember that night with your setup, you still should have known better before posting pictures with nudity on a public forum, the last thing that this site needs is being accused of supplying pornography to minors. There are a large amount of under-age users here, and the focus of the site is Apple, not pornography.

And you also posted it with no reference about the nudity in it as a warning, I for one have strong Catholic morals, and I did not appreciate having somebody just blatantly post pornographic images in a public site, from my standpoint, pornography is a sin, and I will do what I can to avoid it, and I did not appreciate you posting it right on my computer screen.

There was another user that was posting with you, who was insulting me and other people that agreed with me on that issue, he had no respect of morals, and posted a post that was full of pornographic images that ended up getting their account terminated. So you got off lucky, the mods easily could have given you a lifetime ban, but they gave you some time to think about your actions and then allowed you to return.

And as it appears that you did not read the forum rules before you posted your setup, and posted a public complaint about the works of the mods here, rather than by a PM, please take the time now to read them, and if you do ever find a post that violates forum rules, then use this button
report.gif
to report it to the mods and let them take care of it.

wait.... people actually read the rules?!?!
Yes, you are required to before posting anything here, that was a term that you agreed to when you joined, by joining here and posting, you agree that you have read the forum rules, and agree to them and understand them.

Ok, wow... i am still very suprised that ppl read that long boring guidelines thing, on any site that i have ever joined that required me to 'read' those, i just hit agree... i mean, if i actually had to read something that long and boring, i wouldn't even create the friggin account, i am so shocked that ppl actually read that stuff, i mean, if there was a shock - o - meter or something from 1 -10 i would have to say that i am at a 12 when i heard that ppl read those things
