Still too narrow unfortunately and this time Samsung dropped the ball by not offering a free storage upgrade during the pre-order phase while increasing the price too.
Out of curiosity... have you tried the Fold 4 or 5? Not on one of those demo stands, but actually tried it for an extended time. And don't get me wrong, I do agree that the cover display needs to be wider... but it's not as if it's unusable.

Sometimes the media creates this narrative that doesn't correlate with the folks that actually use the device on a regularly basis.

We unfortunately don’t have any credit card perks on the other side of the pond. The only perk we get is paying a fee for the credit card 😅
That is the only perk? No accessory incentives or Samsung Care Plus.

Oh that's unfortunate, but what about the regular Samsung promos? Is the 2X storage only in the U.S.?

I finally got to play with one today thank you AT&T store lol..BestBuy had a non charged with broken sensor contraption. The Verizon store had so much covered you couldn't tell it was a phone .. T-Mobile just put it out you could get to feel the phone and inspect really well but they had just placed it out and needed a connection from the manager.. I really like the weight and matte edges and the crease is improved IMO ..oh just the wider outside screen would make it solid for me

I stopped by Verizon but they only had the Flip 6 on display. I was hoping to get a better sense of the Fold 6 and Galaxy Ultra in person but will just have to wait for delivery.

I'd lay odds we are getting them on the 22nd and I don't want to see the Fold 6 in stores lol, I want to actually hold the device in my hands when it's unboxed.

I had the beige on Fold 4 and Fold 5 too. Fold 6 stock colors are not very good this year. The Samsung exclusive patterned black is interesting and I almost went with that, but I like the contrast of the white back and black camera lens.

Added the slim clear case to my order since it was 50% off promo, but unfortunately it sold out by the time I went to checkout.

Since we have a few weeks before delivery I'm going to research other cases. Still debating if I just want a slim clear case or an S Pen case. I rarely use the S Pen on my current Fold 5 case, so that probably answers my question.
I wished the standard Fold and the rest of the Galaxy smartphone designers put in the effort and took queues from Thom Browne designers in the latest Z Fold 5 design, as that edition truly was a complete product and design Renaissance and elegance.

If I had the money I'd search for and purchase that complete kit without even flinching!

Ordered a 1TB. Sold my Fold 5 for $1k months ago, should have just kept it as ended up just buying a Fold 3 in Swappa for $330 and getting $900 for it on trade.

Tried an iPad mini and iPhone 15PM for a bit. iOS 18 brings a lot of improvements but ultimately One UI is just so much more advanced and fun to use. Looking forward to trying out RCS, hopefully it can replace iMessage enough for me to stick with android.

I do but I don’t want it to be a one time sync. I’d like for contacts or calendar entries I add on iOS, to also sync to google, is there a way? I’ll still use my 15 Plus and vice versa
If I’m not mistaken… you can export your contacts or calendar on iOS then import them to Google… that way you can have it on both platforms. But I'd start using Google contacts given it can sync between two platforms unlike iCloud.

Now for calendar, Google allows users to import other calendars to it. So, I used iCal to add my account... but it doesn't sync as fast as I would like. But if you want something instant... I'd suggest using a Google calendar app on both 15 Plus and Galaxy Fold.

The reason why I went this route for me... I like using Fantastical on the iPad and Samsung Calendar app on the Fold.

if you use both iCloud and Google contacts, there's an app called Contacts Sync that I've been using for years that allows for one or two way sync. There are many other apps like it.

Calendar sync is a bit more tricky, yes you can do the whole shared/published calendar approach but I want to be able to add/edit/delete a calendar event on either my iCloud or Google calendar and have the change synced to the other (i.e. have duplicated iCloud and Google calendars that sync changes). The only way I've found to do this is via a paid service like Calendar Bridge. It works well enough for me to pay for it.

Well, that's good to know.

Yeah, it is a bit tricky.

I normally edit calendar events on Fantastical app... that way it syncs to the Galaxy Fold.

But do you use both iCloud and google calendars, wanting each to have the same events? Sounds pretty dumb to do that but I want to use google calendars using my gmail and my wife wants to use iCloud based calendars and we need to share a family calendar. Haven’t figured out any other way to do it
Yes, I use both... I've stated that. But I do use my Google account on the Fantastical app and I use iCloud because of the family calendar I have with it.

When I said it sounded dumb I was referring to the fact that I use both myself. I don’t think many people have the same use case, that is using both Google and iCloud calendars but having the same exact events on both sets of calendars.
Yeah, it is a strange predicament. But I think Tapatalk is messing up your post.

Have you gotten a screen protector for the Fold? Trying to decide which one to go with....

I got an opportunity to play with the new Razr+ that is being released in a couple of weeks. I will be buying that phone. It isn't going to replace my iPhone but man what a fun phone to have. Really takes me back to the days of flip phones and I was actually blown away by how much I liked it over the Samsung Fold series phones (admittedly I've never tried the flip versions).

I ordered a Fold 6. I loved the Fold 5 when I had it for a few months, and ultimately they improved on this gen in just about every way I would have wanted them to (matte finish, slightly wider outside screen, etc) - RCS implementation on the Apple side, and iOS 18 customizations being so awful should make it easier for me to escape the Apple shackles haha; I'm not even 'locked' in to the ecosystem by a long line of products I own.

Also interested in the Galaxy Ring but waiting on reviews of that.

Pre-ordered my Fold6 as well. I wasn't initially planning on it but also grabbed a set of Buds3 Pro and a Galaxy Watch Ultra because the promos and trade-ins are so good right now.

I was close to getting the Galaxy Ring, going so far as getting the sizing kit and wearing different tester ring sizes overnight. While a ring is less obtrusive than wearing a watch during sleep, I couldn't get past the price and limited feature set. It basically costs more but does less than a watch. I already know I have sleep apnea and have been using a CPAP machine for years, so I don't need a watch nor ring to tell me that. I decided instead to trade-in my Galaxy Watch 5 Pro towards the Watch Ultra, bringing the final cost down to $198 ($225 plus 12% cachback through Rakuten).

The sleep apnea detection is pretty neat, as a guy that already uses a CPAP. I don't need a watch or ring to tell me that though, my wife's elbow in the side or back was enough to tell me I had sleep apnea. Still preordered the Watch Ultra to try it out.

I keep going back and forth on the Fold 6. Really the only thing holding me back is the cameras as I take a lot of pics. While the Pixel Fold has its own shortcomings, the cameras have been really stellar on it. However, the Samsung software runs circles around Google's for a foldable.

Samsung OneUI is still the best for multiwindow/multitasking activities and really makes the Fold shine. Apps scale and resize between the cover and inner screen with ease on my previous Fold 4 and Fold 5. Not something that can be said about the Pixel Fold at the moment. I'm definitely looking forward to my Fold 6. The hard part now is deciding on a case before it arrives.
