The under display camera is a neat implementation but it's also only 4MP and easily the worst camera on the Fold 4, 5, and 6. I rarely ever use the under display camera on the inner screen.
I likely won't ever use that selfie camera, tbh. Any selfie I'd take would be with the phone folded. I really like that hidden lens. Leaning towards the Fold 6 as I'm already in the ecosystem and like the squared off looks of it.

Yes sir! Best damn phone ever! I can't believe how much more I like this device every day. Other than lack of wireless charging it's pretty much perfect.
Agreed. I can't imagine how good next year verison will be. Guessing massive battery and thinner. The front display i think is an ideal size as well and ticks the boxes. Software is also great and the closest you will find to samsung in the foldable market. 67w wired charging is some a game changer too certainly on a device i don't charge every night.

I played with a Z Fold 6 yesterday, first time with hands on time with a foldable, damn nice phone. Love the under screen selfie lens on the inside screen, it makes everything so clean looking. Now I'm looking at the 9 Pro Fold and the OP Open, 😂. The OnePlus is $1399 at Best Buy for me, and the Pixel 9 Pro XL is $1199, which has me very conflicted on the pre-order. I have the total tech plus membership through BB which is handy for these foldables.
Yeah, you cannot go wrong with either one (9 Pro Fold, OP Open and Fold 6) ... each has their own characteristics.

If you value the Pixel experience, go with 9 Pro Fold... if you want a well-rounded foldable experience then OP Open will serve you in that area. And if you want a more refined experience, that's when the Z Fold 6 comes in the picture.

I would like to try out other foldables, but the package I get out of the Galaxy experience... it's tough for me to go elsewhere.

I'm inclined to stick with Samsung as I'm already in the ecosystem. Ordering from Samsung direct is a great deal. With trade in of my S24+ the total cost for the black 512gb Fold 6 is $1050 which is pretty nice. They double the storage from 256gb for no cost.

ZF6 is a fantastic device but the under display camera is one of my biggest gripes with it. Much prefer the OP Open camera in the far upper right corner.

OnePlus Open 1399 and a decent trade in takes it down to a very manageable price for a fantastic device. Plan on holding onto mine until the Open 2 or whatever they call it unless the new Pixel Fold reviews just blow me away.

Yeah, that's one plus side with sticking with Samsung... they offer good trade-in value for their devices.

I could have been swayed to try the Pixel 9 Pro Fold if Best Buy offered some crazy deals similar to how they did with the S24U and 9 Pro XL.... some folks in the Pixel thread were able to do a swap with no charge!

Considering my first foldable. My main phobia is breaking the screen and having to wait on repairs. What is everyone's experience with getting the screen fixed at authorized repair centers? Google and Samsung both offer repairs at Asurion's uBreakiFix as a walk-in and there are three in my area. Anybody here ever use them? Is it same day?

I had a Fold4 that died one day after disconnecting from my car charger. The Fold4 was fantastic for 18-months then unexpectedly went kaput. I initially took it to a UBreakIFix-type store for repair quote and they said they could do a screen replacement same-day in a couple of hours. I took apart my Fold4 and the experience tells me their repair estimate is accurate.

You are correct that it depends whether they need to order parts or not. The good thing is, on a foldable you have two screens so it's unlikely that you crack/damage both the outer and inner screen at the same time. If parts need to be ordered then you can still continue using the foldable phone with the remaining good screen. Once all parts are in, and the employee has previous experience with the repair, it should only take them maybe 1-1.5 hrs to replace a display. Just make sure to carry some form of insurance or protection plan with any foldable. Enjoy shopping for your next phone!

No issue to report when I had the Fold 4, didn’t need any service support (bought at launch… had it for about 2 years).

But with the Fold 2, I had a dead pixel right in the middle of the crease… so I decided to take it up to Samsung Store to get it repaired. In my area, there’s a few uBreakiFix stores… but only two official Samsung Stores (one is fairly close and the other one is quite a distance away).

And if I’m not mistaken, I believe I tried a uBreakiFix store…. But they didn’t have any panels to do a same day repair. They could have taken it and send it off for a repair…. But I preferred same day. My situation was kind of different… because prior to this dead pixel issue, I had a cracked glass back. I was intended on placing a dBrand skin on it… but never got around to it.

They have a ”one free repair screen” policy for the Galaxy Fold within the one year warranty, so I could have paid nothing for the repair. But Samsung took the opportunity to fix the glass back and repair the front screen, this way I’d keep “one free repair screen” if something was ever to happen. I still had to pay $99 for glass back repair.

I think we are in the same general area. So, if we were to take our phone into the store at Stonebriar Mall, do they accept them for repair there? Or is there another site you are referring to? Luckily I've never had an issue with a Fold or any other Samsung phone, but good to know for the future.

Yeah, I didn’t travel that far. That’s the one is farther away from me. There is another location in Frisco... it’s weird if you go to the Samsung site, it doesn’t list it as an official store.

But when I travel there… it looked official to me. Here is the location…

3580 Preston Rd #100, Frisco, TX 75034

Edit. Looking at the map… its near the same distance lol.

Good to know, thanks. Considering taking my S24U in for a screen replacement. Took it to the beach and when in the beach bag it got some scratches on it that are just killing me to look at. Can't tell much when the screen is on, but when off they stick out like crazy.

Think I found a setup I can keep for a while... wanted to streamline it a bit and I like this quote widget.

For those using BlueBubbles, I'd recommend switching Proxy Service to Zrok (if you haven't done so already), I constantly kept getting error connection under Cloudflare.

Admittedly, I only switched a couple days ago... but it's been a smooth experience.

It kept working even though the connection errors would pop up. Was able to send and receive with no issue. Looks like cloudflare got their issues worked out though. Everything is running great today.

I kept getting annoyed by it... it will send me a notification that server was offline or cannot connect to it. But I'd still be able to send or receive message... until I'm actually not able to. It becomes inconsistent sometimes.

And then I seen some reddit thread having the same issues... recommends switching to Zrok (supposedly, the developer uses it too). Process took under 2 mins to change over.

I'll try that if the issue comes back. Right now all appears to be working fine with cloudflare. Hoping here in another month or so I won't even need it anymore with Apple adopting RCS
