I'll try that if the issue comes back. Right now all appears to be working fine with cloudflare. Hoping here in another month or so I won't even need it anymore with Apple adopting RCS
I’m glad RCS is coming to the iPhone, took them long enough… but I don’t think I’d switch over. I’m just too integrated with iMessage to go elsewhere.

The iPad goes with me practically anywhere I go… so, I’d have that to fallback whenever BlueBubbles decides to give me troubles. I like what Apple has done with iMessage to go with a different messaging platform.

Solid article. Not too far or against either side… placed in the middle.

But the article is giving a lot of praise with the OnePlus Open in terms of multitasking… I think the Canvas feature is cool, however… to those who own a OnePlus Open. Is it possible to watch some video.. for instance with YouTube and have Spotify or Apple Music (maybe some podcast app) play audio in the background?

I tend to watch tutorials or highlights on Youtube while audio from another source plays in the background.

Here's a great video on very useful features of the watch:

FYI regarding RCS!

Google has made a change to Google Messages in oarticular to RCS, They're not using the standard RCS 2.7 profile submitted and approved to the GSMA which is THE standard submitted back in 2018. Google Messages is encyrpted including their profile for RCS.

If you've noticed, since July 18, Samsung Messges update on your Galaxy phones there was a message stating if not updated then you'd have issues receiving RCS. This brings us full circle WHY Samsung omitted Samsung Messages from the Z Fold 6 & Z Flip 6 in North America at launch. every version of Samsung Messages since July 2024 no longer has the "chat" function which enables it. Even if you have it enabled in Google Messages' settings (RCS) then disable that app if like me your prefer Samsung Messages it has no effect. Probably why Google Messages can no longer be uninstalled directly from Settings > Apps, nor from the PlayStore.

Some History:

2016:

FYI Google bought Jibe in 2015, that's why the link below has a sublingual for Contact Us, ans if you use the menu to select "Why RCS?" you'll ONLY see Google Messages logo.

That wasn't there several months ago.
“Messaging holds a central place in our lives, whether it’s coordinating a meet-up, sharing photos with friends, or sending thoughts to a loved one,” said Nick Fox, Vice President of Communications Products at Google. “Today marks an important step forward in bringing a better messaging experience for Android users everywhere, and we’re thrilled to collaborate with our partners across the industry to make this happen.”

In the global rollout of RCS, mobile operators can deploy their own infrastructure or they have the option to use the Jibe Platform from Google, which supports the universal RCS profile. The Jibe Platform includes a hosted cloud for individual operators to launch RCS services for all leading mobile operating systems and the Jibe Hub to interconnect operator RCS networks.

The goals of the latest Google-backed push are explained as follows:

By aligning on a universal RCS profile, mobile operators will be able to deploy a consistent RCS implementation, feature set, and configuration. The Android RCS client provided by Google will be based on the universal profile, enabling consumers to access RCS services on their devices. Features such as group chat, high-res photo sharing, read receipts, and more, will now become part of the operator messaging experience, enhancing the experience of over 4 billion SMS users worldwide. GSMA RCS advanced calling features will also be supported in the future by Google.

The profile and client will enable a consistent and interoperable messaging experience between all Android devices and across all operators worldwide, as well as ease interoperability testing between networks and significantly reduce time to market. The universal profile can be implemented by other operating systems and will be supported by a formal GSMA accreditation process. Google will also provide an open source version of the client based on the universal profile specification and will provide developer APIs to enhance the RCS client experience.

And yet Google has not yet done this, if they did do you think they'd be encrypting & push Samsung their major partner for RCS as a platform for consumers and businesses (SaaP), to have them neuter their Samsung Messages?! Naaah.

Major partnership 2018:

(directly from Samsung)

“At Samsung, we adhere to a model of open collaboration to bring premium experiences to our customers across products,” said Patrick Chomet, EVP and Head of Product & Services Innovation Team, Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics. “By furthering our robust partnership with Google, we will bring a richer messaging experience to our customers, letting them seamlessly chat with their friends and family across messaging platforms. This collaboration will help further the industry’s momentum toward advanced messaging and global RCS coverage.”

“We’ve been working with the mobile industry to upgrade the messaging experience on Android with RCS,” said Anil Sabharwal, Vice President for Communications Products and Photos at Google. “Samsung has been a major contributor to this initiative, and our partnership will further advance our shared vision of a substantially improved messaging experience on Android for users, brands and the broader Android ecosystem.”

As a further benefit of this expanded partnership, developers and brands that create RCS Business Messaging experiences (based on GSMA Universal Profile 2.0) using the Google or Samsung Messaging-as-a-Platform (MaaP) services will be able to reach both Android Messages and Samsung Messages users, bringing richer business messaging to many more users.

like what happened to you Samsung?! I bought a Galaxy phone to not have to use Google's specific apps as much as possible!

And thsi is how it started (Google flexing their muscle - despite the former executives' words well above.

And again:

It seems some in Samsung Members USA feel the same way I do ...

It seems though, if you choose Samsung as your default messager, you cannot use RCS.

You HAVE to let google be your default or no RCS.

Make Samsung your default = no RCS.

It seems unless you let your private text messages be migrated into google messages, you cannot use google RCS.

I don't want google involved, but if I'm FORCED, I want my standard text messages to remain PRIVATELY where they are.

If there was a way to use Samsung RCS, it wouldn't matter about my private messages being integrated because Samsung have that information already.

This should've been so simple, but america wants all our info again.

So Yeah I did my research on RCS ;)
Still looking for a way to get RCS Chat back in Samsung Messages, my preference forseveral reasons. I'll keep pushing so Samsung Messages doesn't die, but il only 1 man.

Cheers.

I still waiting for the Fold 6. My provider does not have it available yet, because they are giving priority to the operators.

I'm looking forward to trying a foldable, let's see if I don't get one before the Fold 7 comes out 🤣

Umm.. not sure if I’m interested in a tri-fold. I personally don’t see the point in the inner display over 8 inches… going above that, it’s risking the portability aspect of it.
Agree about the portability, but if it ends up being no bigger, or actually smaller than a galaxy Z fold, I’d be intrigued.

I just can’t imagine if it’s that thin that it has very good battery life.

I had a Latercase ordered on pre-order unfortunately the front piece is a no-go with my screen protector. But I'm going to keep it for when I just want something very slim and do just the back to protect the lens.

Yeah, that is really thin! I could see myself using that… given the low-profile.

I took off my mag-safe ring… the magnet kept bothering the S-Pen, I’m in the market for a phone grip. Something that can stick onto the back.

Just put my iPhone 15 pro max for sale and my Apple Watch Ultra 2

Once sold I will put my main sim in the one plus open for 2-3 weeks before I buy the 16 pro max and ultra 3

Yup very thin and I feel better with it if laying flat on a table, how's your pen ?attached or carry separately?

Umm... I'm on the no-case team, so it's not attached lol. I carry it separately... but I do have this black pen clip (took it from an ink pen). Had thoughts of painting it black or finding some kind of black skin/cover to match the clip.

Apparently the anodizing on the fold 6 is peeling off, and they are blaming users.
Yeah, I seen quite a few reddit post of late… discussing this matter.

I did get a small scuff when I was trying to take off the Latercase frame which pissed me off lol I was mad at the fit but maybe it's not all its fault.
Ahhh… that’s disappointing. If this gets widespread… surely Samsung will do something about it.

What’s so peculiar about all this… a case is designed to protect the phone, not damage it.

Exactly and I only noticed it the day I was with the Latercase which is more of that metal feel case so thinking it got it when removing

The thing that really sucks about this scenario is that Samsung is notoriously picky about providing warranty work on phones with the slightest amount of physical damage.

So Potentially if your screen fails, and it has paint chips, they will blame you for dropping the phone.
