I used the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and OnePlus Open for a week — here's what I learned
One wins my heart; the other wins my head

I’m glad RCS is coming to the iPhone, took them long enough… but I don’t think I’d switch over. I’m just too integrated with iMessage to go elsewhere.I'll try that if the issue comes back. Right now all appears to be working fine with cloudflare. Hoping here in another month or so I won't even need it anymore with Apple adopting RCS
Solid article. Not too far or against either side… placed in the middle.I used the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and OnePlus Open for a week — here's what I learned

Here's a great video on very useful features of the watch:
FYI regarding RCS!I'll try that if the issue comes back. Right now all appears to be working fine with cloudflare. Hoping here in another month or so I won't even need it anymore with Apple adopting RCS
“Messaging holds a central place in our lives, whether it’s coordinating a meet-up, sharing photos with friends, or sending thoughts to a loved one,” said Nick Fox, Vice President of Communications Products at Google. “Today marks an important step forward in bringing a better messaging experience for Android users everywhere, and we’re thrilled to collaborate with our partners across the industry to make this happen.”
In the global rollout of RCS, mobile operators can deploy their own infrastructure or they have the option to use the Jibe Platform from Google, which supports the universal RCS profile. The Jibe Platform includes a hosted cloud for individual operators to launch RCS services for all leading mobile operating systems and the Jibe Hub to interconnect operator RCS networks.
The goals of the latest Google-backed push are explained as follows:
By aligning on a universal RCS profile, mobile operators will be able to deploy a consistent RCS implementation, feature set, and configuration. The Android RCS client provided by Google will be based on the universal profile, enabling consumers to access RCS services on their devices. Features such as group chat, high-res photo sharing, read receipts, and more, will now become part of the operator messaging experience, enhancing the experience of over 4 billion SMS users worldwide. GSMA RCS advanced calling features will also be supported in the future by Google.
The profile and client will enable a consistent and interoperable messaging experience between all Android devices and across all operators worldwide, as well as ease interoperability testing between networks and significantly reduce time to market. The universal profile can be implemented by other operating systems and will be supported by a formal GSMA accreditation process. Google will also provide an open source version of the client based on the universal profile specification and will provide developer APIs to enhance the RCS client experience.
“At Samsung, we adhere to a model of open collaboration to bring premium experiences to our customers across products,” said Patrick Chomet, EVP and Head of Product & Services Innovation Team, Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics. “By furthering our robust partnership with Google, we will bring a richer messaging experience to our customers, letting them seamlessly chat with their friends and family across messaging platforms. This collaboration will help further the industry’s momentum toward advanced messaging and global RCS coverage.”
“We’ve been working with the mobile industry to upgrade the messaging experience on Android with RCS,” said Anil Sabharwal, Vice President for Communications Products and Photos at Google. “Samsung has been a major contributor to this initiative, and our partnership will further advance our shared vision of a substantially improved messaging experience on Android for users, brands and the broader Android ecosystem.”
As a further benefit of this expanded partnership, developers and brands that create RCS Business Messaging experiences (based on GSMA Universal Profile 2.0) using the Google or Samsung Messaging-as-a-Platform (MaaP) services will be able to reach both Android Messages and Samsung Messages users, bringing richer business messaging to many more users.
It seems though, if you choose Samsung as your default messager, you cannot use RCS.
You HAVE to let google be your default or no RCS.
Make Samsung your default = no RCS.
It seems unless you let your private text messages be migrated into google messages, you cannot use google RCS.
I don't want google involved, but if I'm FORCED, I want my standard text messages to remain PRIVATELY where they are.
If there was a way to use Samsung RCS, it wouldn't matter about my private messages being integrated because Samsung have that information already.
This should've been so simple, but america wants all our info again.
Umm.. not sure if I’m interested in a tri-fold. I personally don’t see the point in the inner display over 8 inches… going above that, it’s risking the portability aspect of it.This 10-inch tri-fold smartphone is thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold 6
Tecno unveiled the Phantom Ultimate 2, a tri-fold foldable phone that becomes a 10-inch tablet, and it's thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold 6.bgr.com
Agree about the portability, but if it ends up being no bigger, or actually smaller than a galaxy Z fold, I’d be intrigued.Umm.. not sure if I’m interested in a tri-fold. Can you imagine the price of normal folds are 1600-1900I'm in for trifold LOL
Oh yeah will be ridiculousCan you imagine the price of normal folds are 1600-1900
Yup, especially from Westworld!Just want the rollable, transparent screens from all those sci-fi shows.
Yeah, that's why I hope Samsung continues improving on the dual fold technology.... because they haven't given us S Ultra-level cameras yet.Can you imagine the price of normal folds are 1600-1900
Yeah, that is really thin! I could see myself using that… given the low-profile.I had a Latercase ordered on pre-order unfortunately the front piece is a no-go with my screen protector. But I'm going to keep it for when I just want something very slim and do just the back to protect the lens.
Yup very thin and I feel better with it if laying flat on a table, how's your pen ?attached or carry separately?Yeah, that is really thin! I could see myself using that… given the low-profile.
I took off my mag-safe ring… the magnet kept bothering the S-Pen, I’m in the market for a phone grip. Something that can stick onto the back.
Umm... I'm on the no-case team, so it's not attached lol. I carry it separately... but I do have this black pen clip (took it from an ink pen). Had thoughts of painting it black or finding some kind of black skin/cover to match the clip.Yup very thin and I feel better with it if laying flat on a table, how's your pen ?attached or carry separately?
Haha nice definitely put a skin on itUmm... I'm on the no-case team, so it's not attached lol. I carry it separately... but I do have this black pen clip (took it from an ink pen). Had thoughts of painting it black or finding some kind of black skin/cover to match the clip.

I did get a small scuff when I was trying to take off the Latercase frame which pissed me off lol I was mad at the fit but maybe it's not all its fault.Apparently the anodizing on the fold 6 is peeling off, and they are blaming users.
Yeah, I seen quite a few reddit post of late… discussing this matter.Apparently the anodizing on the fold 6 is peeling off, and they are blaming users.
Ahhh… that’s disappointing. If this gets widespread… surely Samsung will do something about it.I did get a small scuff when I was trying to take off the Latercase frame which pissed me off lol I was mad at the fit but maybe it's not all its fault.
Exactly and I only noticed it the day I was with the Latercase which is more of that metal feel case so thinking it got it when removingYeah, I seen quite a few reddit post of late… discussing this matter.

What’s so peculiar about all this… a case is designed to protect the phone, not damage it.
