Good morning. Praying to the OLED gods 😂😂
Maybe just get the 14P at the store (or mailed to you) and give yourself the 14 days to decide. If you like it (i.e. can use it), take your 12P back to the store and have them apply the trade-in then.I totally forgot about PWM…
I couldn’t use the Xs because of it … I was getting headaches after just a couple of minutes…
I don’t have any issues at all with my iPhone 12 Pro…
I have planned to trade it in (at the store) and buy the new 14 pro… so I can’t try it out properly before selling my current phone which would leave me with no way back…
Now after being reminder I am a little scared…
Do you guys think that PWM might be worse with the new phone compared to the 12… it shouldn’t actually…?
Meh… now I can’t stop worrying 😕
You'll be fine. The 13 Series has a higher PWM frequency than the 12 Series and you can use the 12 Pro fine. 14 Series will be the same or higher - go for it!I totally forgot about PWM…

Weren’t there several in here who were fine with the 12 series but then the 13 series bothered them? Suppose I could go back and look. It’s all so hard to say. Seems like the logic we use for PWM improvement (higher frequency) hasn’t applied to everyone the way we expect. Man I’m so over this!! Btw, are you trying the Pro Max?You'll be fine. Can anyone definitively say yet? I don't think so.So the screen on 14/14 plus is the same like 13 line ? No changes ?
I tried the 12 Pro Max, which was about as irritating as iPhone X. The 12 Pro was apparently supposed to be the best of that generation.@MICHAELSD did you use 12 pro ?
It looks like iPhone 14 will use similar panels as iPhone 13, which is pretty much a given. Can anyone definitively say yet? I don't think so.
Fingers crossed!!It looks like iPhone 14 will use similar panels as iPhone 13, which is pretty much a given.
iPhone 14 Pro on the other hand has a brand new OLED panel and a new display engine. Honestly this may just be the generation where we see no flicker…
That was like me with the 13 pro max. Preordered it and I said to myself I was completely done with my XR and would adjust to the 13 pro max no matter what. Changed my mind pretty quickly after the permanent migraine set in and my body had a visceral reaction to even glancing at my phone. HaMy wife thinks I’m crazy for considering to preorder the 14PM, but I can’t keep this slow 11 forever…
I don't know what works for who anymore, just wanted to keep the positivity up.Weren’t there several in here who were fine with the 12 series but then the 13 series bothered them? Was just using my sisters 13PM for maybe 5 minutes and I’ve got a mild migraine… nice to see I can notice it pretty quickly now. 14PM here I come! That was like me with the 13 pro max. But I’m trying again this time!
We need all the positivity we can get!I don't know what works for who anymore, just wanted to keep the positivity up.
I will def get a Pro Max, undecided on what other model to also get to increase the chance something works. Was going to be the Plus but I'm not so sure now as the screen tech might just be the same as last year's. Might switch to both the Pro's. Feeling edgy now with anticipation 🙃
Snap. What do you think you'll go for?We need all the positivity we can get!
That said lol, I’ve almost got myself talked out of pre-ordering. I just have this gut feel it’ll be the same nonsense and don’t even feel like going through the hassle. It’s such a weird and unwelcome feeling compared to the days I didn’t have to worry about this.

I’m ordering the one without my phone number where it says I can activate it with any number later… the idea being that I won’t deactivate my 11 in case I need to return the 14PM. The downside of course is that I don’t know how much I’ll actually get to experience the 14PM without activating it.
Thoughts?
That is my other dilemma lol. I am so torn on size that it’s making me dizzy. I have very large hands so that’s not so much an issue. But, I wear gym shorts most of the day and night now that I work from home, I think about going on my walks and jogs, putting it in pockets, etc. The max is a heavy phone. But at the same time that big screen (PWM aside) would be so helpful on my 46 year old eyes. Then I think, man it’s less private being so big. I don’t like how text renders on the regular pro compared to my 11 either. See, I’m beyond a mess lol.Snap. What do you think you'll go for?
I'm talking myself out of the large iPhones due to weight. I remember thinking the 13 Pro last year was heavy enough. Gaaa...indecision kicks in again!
I see one part in the video with Sara that looks like it's not flickering, but at about 5:14 I'm wondering if that looks like flicker.A bit of potential good news:
Purely coincidental that he’s done a slow-mo video with the iPhone 14 Pro and it’s not a PWM test, but there is no discernible flicker at all.
Sara Dietschy also has a video with slo-mo shots and no discernible flicker:
I was wondering that as well, but the slow-motion close-up of the Dynamic Island at :38 certainly appears to be perfectly fine. It could be temporal dithering or some peculiarity with the always-on display.I see one part in the video with Sara that looks like it's not flickering, but at about 5:14 I'm wondering if that looks like flicker.
If those screens aren't on max brightness, this could be awe-some!A bit of potential good news:
