Are you head pressure / nausea / eyes soreness 100% free ? Are you on your second day of 15 pro use ?

Your experience with 14 line was unbearable ?
I never tried the 14 or 13 or 12 line. I've been stuck on 11 all this time. I dont have nausea or eye soreness. but i do feel al little forhead tension after about an hour. nothing major. its tolerable enough that Im gonna continue using it for a week and see how I do with different brightness settings.

It seems there is some positive news here from a few of you, but there is some contrasting information. It seems the tests are showing the regular 15 is "safer", but a couple of you are finding that the 15 Pro is more comfortable.

What is the broader consensus at this point- for those of you that are finding your new phone to be comfortable, are any out there using the regular 15? Or are all of you on the 15 Pro?

I'm seriously considering picking up a regular 15 tomorrow to try out, based on the testing here that looked positive, as well as the fact that I like the upgrades available on the regular 15 (48mp camera sensor, 2x capability, dynamic island, frosted glass back), and don't really need the extras that come with the Pro for the extra $200.

However, if the Pro is truly safer for the eyes, I would gladly spend the extra $200.... But since the regular 15 is still pretty easy to get ahold of now, I think I'll go ahead and pick one up to try out, and if there is any discomfort, I'll return it and consider whether I sit it out this time around, or order a Pro.

So I've been reading the past comments on the iphone pro model and I'm really likely the positive experience with it.

I'll probably check back a few days later to verify again how was the experience overall though.

As some symptoms do take slower to surface before it becomes rather alarming and unbearable.

I do hope to hear good news though when I check back again!

Is there anyone else here who feels like whether or not the 15 series is tolerable, they do NOT want to use a phone that is strobing in their face or OLED for the myriad of other issues? Panel lottery, jelly scroll, color shifting, screen tinting, horrible subpixel layouts…

I used to review Android phones when OLED was relatively new for a couple sites that are shut down now but back around that time I ALWAYS preferred to go back to an iPhone because I thought the LCD displays looked better and were much easier on the eyes.
I personally only care about usability. I phone could flicker like mad but if I wasn’t symptomatic I wouldn’t care. Just me.

Sorry if I have already asked you this - did you use the M1 iPad Pro 11"? I get eye strain on the 2020 2nd Gen and M1 3rd Gen. I'm wondering if the M2 is “fixed”.
Don’t worry, I don’t remember if you asked it either.

Well, the case with the M2 11” iPad Pro is a bit particular. Because I knew this was going to be a long term purchase, I bought a 256GB unit. And this gave me eye-soreness. I bought a 128GB from Amazon to compare, and that one didn’t bother me as much. I tried again with another 256GB iPad Pro, and problems came back.

Comparing the iPads, the 128GB units I tested and the 256GB units I bought seem to have different screen suppliers. The colors are a bit more vivid and warm in the 256GB, while the colors aren’t so saturated on the 128GB unit. Also, the angle view of the 128GB is much better than on the 256GB models. I don’t know this by just one unit, I tested several from those two configurations.

So, with a bit disappointed, I had to keep the 128GB one I bought from Amazon. It has the minimum storage, yes, but at least I can use it comfortably.

In my short experience at the Apple Store, yeah, the 15 Pro did indeed feel more comfortable to my eyes. But I tested the 15 Pro briefly (maybe 5 minutes?) because I didn’t plan to buy it. The regular 15 was uncomfortable at 20% of brightness, and I expect it to give me trouble if I use it for longer periods.

So yeah, shorter and very subjective early impressions, but I found the 15 Pro more comfortable to my eyes. I didn’t know I wasn’t the only one.

Here the lines are moving a lot slower and they are fewer on the pro models…..

Which kinda confirms my suspicions: the 15 Pro could be easier on the eyes, as I experienced on the Apple Store.

If it wasn’t because the A17 Pro is a hot disappointment for me, I would buy it. Sadly, next year’s 16 Pro models are getting bigger so… we’ll see.

We need a 5.8” iPhone 16 Pro along with the 6.3” and 6.9”, Tim

PS: hey @GrumpyMom I remember that you had hopes on this lower energy display controller. Wether that’s the cause of this change or not, I don’t care. You should try this model. Let us know!

Did you try out the 15?
No. I kind of convinced myself I would just deal with the 15PM no matter what, but now that I actually have to experience it I remember how bad it is and that it’s really not worth it.

Perhaps I should try the 15. I’ve read the recent posts saying the 15 is better than the pros, but after using this phone for 2 days I really would just like an LCD screen. I dunno…

So the first experiences looks like last year. Some say the Pro models a better, others the regular. Looking forward to hear your experiences after 2-3 weeks. Before i decide to maybe try the 15 PM or Plus i will try it in the store to see how my eyes reacts. Last year only 10 mins with the 14 Plus was enough to know it is not worth to try it.

The interessting thing here is also that the Pro models should have the same display panel like last year. So the difference here could be the display driver/GPU.

We are all waiting your tomorrow findings :)
I apparently can't buy the phone because I'm a Verizon employee and it's restricted. I don't even get an employee discount anymore. You can't make this **** up. Verizon still hadn't even returned my first month payment from the 14 PM I returned last year. Going to have to switch carriers.

Can someone guide me how to add “reduce white point” to the action button? When I change the action button to shortcuts and search for reduce white point it’s not there. Do I have to create a shortcut first before adding it? How do you create shortcuts?

I’ve added it as an accessibility shortcut to the triple click of the power button but that just turns it on and off. I’d like to have an easy way to adjust it as needed throughout the day.

i've heard people complaining of eye strain with OLEDs but can't say i've ever had this issue. I've owned loads of OLED devices from smartphones, smartwatches, nintendo switch consoles, and both my TVs. OLED looks great to me on any device. i don't get any eye strain or see any flickering.
