Hello 👋, is it worth to change my iPhone 14 PM to IPhone 13 PM? Many people says in IPhone 13 PM PWM is lighter then IPhone 14 PM
Unfortunately we have learned that everyone is different and success stories for some are horrific experiences for others. Short answer you truly have to try it out with your own eyes.

Maybe IPhone 13 Pro Max is better?
What is your experience?
I would rather test the iPhone 15 Pro/Max.
For me, these two are many times better than any iPhone before.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max, as i have written many times, so much, so that I have no problems.

This is incredible, yet confusing.

I can use iPhone 15 Pro Max in short bursts, such as to take images using a friend’s device, but it’s been like that with most generations. I’m not enamored with iPhone 15 Plus, even if the display is more comfortable than iPhone 15 Pro, but I feel slightly intimidated trying iPhone 15 Pro Max. That being said, I’ll probably just pre-order the Pro Max iPhone next generation.

Just like every year with our pwm problem, I tested all the new iPhones and for me the 15 and 15 plus are clearly the best. 15 Pro/Max is just as bad as the previous Pro models. Modulation depth is three times as high as the 15/plus... that can't be good.

PWM is really incredible because I found the iPhone 15/Plus unbearable.
In contrast, the iPhone 15 Pro Max with 120Hz activated is an absolute pleasure.
This shows that we all react differently and you can't say in general terms what the problem is.

Recap us which iPhones you have had issues using? All past Pro Max iPhones? On paper it doesn’t seem like much has changed.

iPhone 15 Plus seems okay for short periods, but even trying to watch a few minutes of a Max series, HDR or non-HDR, leads to headaches for me. Being better than the Pro iPhones doesn’t mean much in practice. I’m still so severely PWM-sensitive, even if it’s slightly better than past generations; nonetheless, slightly better just means less persistent headaches and little-to-no throbbing behind the eyes.

someone else here who works better with pro model. Technical data (modulation depth) is the normal /plus ok.
I've never been able to work with a Pro. it kills my eyes

As a reminder, the only OLED iPhone that didn't give me any complaints until the iPhone 15 Pro Max
was the iPhone 12 Pro. I couldn't use any of the others at all because they immediately caused me problems.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max, on the other hand, is perfect, for whatever reason.

☠️ You remind me of Zollotech. He also had problems with pwm for years, in every video he talked about pwm. Suddenly with the iPhone 13pro his problems disappeared. I wrote to him asking if he got any money from Apple ☠️

I tell you, if the iPhone SE 4 comes with an LCD display, I’ll buy it day one. I no longer care about the bigger size of the iPhone 14, it will be a bit uncomfortable but I hope I’ll adapt. The only thing I ask at this point, is not to be an OLED display.

I’m enjoying my SE 3 each day, but unfortunately, at some point, it will no longer be supported by Apple.

I gotta say, I have been using an XR for almost a year before swearing I could never use a phone bigger than the SE3 and now I can’t go back.

I recently got access to an SE3 at work and switched for about a day before going back.

Not only is the display noticeably orange tinted compared to the XR, but it’s clear that apps and the web are designed for 6.1 inches now.

If they release an LCD SE4, wherever you are in the world, listen out your window because you’ll hear me screaming for joy.

Do you think the standard iPhone 15 Pro would work for you, or is there a big enough difference between the devices that iPhone 15 Pro Max is the only usable device from the iPhone 15 generation?

I do remember the iPhone 12 generation being notably different across all of the devices, but only tried iPhone 12 Pro Max.

He was only slightly sensitive, as many users seemed to be. My friend also used to get headaches but only while using his iPhone late at night. Apple has attempted to mitigate the issue for the average user, and iPhone 13 generation had a major push with the highest frequencies and lowest modulations of any iPhone. Unfortunately none of those worked for me. iPhone 15 Plus has been better than iPhone 13 was in my experience.

In fact, I’m considering activating iPhone 15 Plus but the eSIM transfer on Verizon is giving me errors every time. It was seamless from iPhone 13 to iPhone SE…

I’ve noted this multiple times but my current experience reconfirms that auto-brightness is the way to go. If the iPhone doesn’t work with auto-brightness enabled it’s not worth it. Workarounds only make the experience less comfortable, enjoyable, and convenient, and don’t work too strongly regardless. That being said, I am getting a light tension headache. I’m using iPhone 15 Plus in a relatively well-lit room so the brightness is automatically set at around 20%, but I can’t deal with shining a bright flashlight into my eyes in a darker room just to mitigate PWM either.

Brightness at 20%?? As a person affected, I do exactly the opposite. Brightness 75-100%. Reduce white point 85%-90% and dark mode. The modulation is lowest in this area. All data confirms this. 15/15 plus still acceptable modulation at 75-100% brightness. 15 pro Max has very poor modulation, almost catastrophic. bad conditions. where did you get information about iPhone 13 Pro with low modulation? for me the worst ever.☠️

The iPhone 15 Pro wasn't bad, but I wasn't symptom-free.

That would never be an option for me. Either I can use an iPhone normally or I can't.
The beautiful display and the 120Hz only make sense to me in the standard settings.
Everything else is out of the question for me, and then I would send the iPhone back straight away.

you don't have a pwm problem. You can be happy😀.
Glasses possibly changed? oled pwm doesn't disappear Suddenly☠️ Apple hasn't made any technical changes to 13,pro14pro

Yes, Apple must have changed something.
Here in the family we still use an iPhone 13/14/Pro/Max.
After a few minutes I get tired eyes and pressure on my head.
When I pick up my iPhone 15 Pro Max again, there are no complaints.
So I'm sure something has changed with the new Pro models.

Yeah, although I’m super happy with my SE3, I admit the camera is not great. I will get the maximum out of this device, but if the SE4 is basically an iPhone 14 with an LCD display to cut costs (unlikely) and a single 48MP camera, I’ll scream for joy as well.

unbelievably, technically pwm has remained almost the same. what is your secret?. ☠️
If you look at the 14 and 15, Apple is absolutely doing something with PWM. I believe it does concern eye health (total guess). Whether or not it is working, well, for some people it apparently is!

The 14 and 15 main devices both sync flicker to refresh rate to lower modulation and the 15 Pro and Pro Max have much smoother curves through an oscilloscope.

If I interpret this correctly, the smoother waveform should be much better:

https://www.reddit.com/r/PWM_Sensitive/comments/13s22br
Compare the examples in that post to the RIGOL waveforms for the 15 Pro and Pro Max:
